Main suspect in missing teacher's gruesome murder is former college mate

A 37-year-old former teacher is now the main suspect in the gruesome murder of Johor school teacher Istiqomah Ahmad Rozi, says Melaka police.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said both the suspect and the victim have known each other since they were in the teacher's training college.

00:11Alor Gajah District Police Chief Superintendent Ashari Abusama said both the suspect and the
00:17victim have known each other since they were in the teacher's training college.
00:22He added that preliminary investigations showed that the suspect and victim had business dealings
00:28and a probe is ongoing to discover the actual motive behind the alleged murder.
00:34On Monday, the suspect had his remand extended by another seven days at the Alor Gajah Magistrates
00:40Court to assist with investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
00:46His wife, who was also remanded for a week from August 6, was released on police bail.
00:52The dismembered body of the victim was discovered in a rubbish bin along the Alor Gajah-Tampin
00:57Road near Kampung Rimau, Pulau Sebang on December 31, 2023.
01:04The body was in a decomposed state, suggesting that the victim had been dead for several
01:08days.
01:09Superintendent Ashari said the post-mortem has been completed, but police are still searching
01:15for the remaining parts of Istikoma's body.
01:17He explained that, as a result, her remains cannot be returned to her family yet for funeral
