‘He destroyed us’: Crew chief Gabehart reacts to late-race contact from Austin Dillon
Chris Gabehart, Denny Hamlin's crew chief, was not happy about the late-race incident with Austin Dillon on the final lap at Richmond Raceway.

00:00Yeah, I mean, the three just, you know, like like they do every about every
00:05third or fourth year here, they wake up and they're okay. The rest of the time
00:09they suck and we just ran into that today. They were great today and we
00:14were kind of second or third best and I don't know what we needed to be three.
00:18It would have been a lot, but you know, it's a real shame. He did what he did
00:22there. Reckon the 22 and 11 for the win. The SMTs is clear as day. I mean, he
00:28destroyed us. He turned us right in the fence, right rear, right rear hooked us
00:31in the fence. We've we've, you know, we've suspended people in the past for
00:35that. So I really hate that for what he did. And then when he got out, you know,
00:39and talked about in his interview afterwards, do whatever you gotta do to
00:43win and blah, blah, blah. And it's a shame because they had a hell of a race
00:46and a great car and he had a hell of a drive. And now everybody's gonna talk
