Mohd Zuki retires, expresses willingness to continue serving the nation

Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, who officially retired today after being in the public service for 32 years, has expressed his readiness to continue serving the country. Datuk Seri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary to the Government, effective Aug 12.

00:00This is my last day as a public official after serving for more than 32 years, 7 months, until the end of this day, and I feel grateful because during that time, and throughout my service as Secretary of State,
00:25I gained a lot of experience, a lot of wisdom that I received, that I experienced for the first time. I had the opportunity to serve with two honourable people and four Ministers.
00:36So, on this occasion, I would like to record a thank you speech that will not leave me, to the honourable members of the Cabinet, for the trust and high appreciation they have given me,
00:48as well as to the two honourable Ministers and Ministers-in-Chief, especially for their commitment throughout my service as a Minister-in-Chief.
01:00So, on this occasion, I would like to record a thank you speech, and to my colleagues, to all the Chiefs of Staff, Chiefs of Sales, Chiefs of Directors,
01:10Chiefs of State Studies, CEO of Badan Pekanun, and also CLBG, for the commitment they have given me, and of course, my thanks to all public officials.
01:24For me, let us together carry out our responsibilities to ensure that the aspirations of the people of Badan can be carried out as well as possible.
01:32It is not necessary that my speech should be appreciated, and also congratulations to my friends, the new KSM, Dato' Sri Samso,
01:42and I hope, and I believe, that the prosperity of our country will continue to flourish under the leadership of the new Dato' Sri KSM.

02:26Yes, that's right. On 11 August is my 62nd birthday. So, I feel that this is the most special gift for me,
02:35because I was able to end my service for 32 years as a Minister-in-Chief.
