Former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said he did not specifically choose or appoint Tan Sri Azam Baki as the chief commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in March 2020 during his tenure as Prime Minister.

Speaking to the reporters on Monday (Jan 10), instead, he said, Azam Baki was a recommendation from the Chief Secretary to the Government.

Muhyiddin said the appointment process was made in an orderly manner in accordance with established rules and guidelines.
