00:00 Ministry of Communication and Digital.
00:02 Ensuring that the staff under my command will not involve themselves in any form of criminal offences.
00:12 The speech of the President, with all due respect, please.
00:16 The KKDI's Integrity Day Summit is based on the integrity of the Malaysian people.
00:29 It is a sign of the commitment of all of you and the support for the development of integrity
00:35 in the Ministry and also the departments under the Ministry and the agencies under the Ministry
00:41 so that it continues to thrive and does not stop its integrity.
00:45 The theme raised today is very appropriate to support the esteemed President of the Ministry of Communication,
00:52 Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in his speech, giving support to integrity and the law of the land
01:00 as an important topic in creating a clean and effective government.
01:05 I personally can say that the Minister is a serious person and has the drive to eradicate corruption in this country.
01:15 He once told me, "Azam, if there is a government official, whether a rich minister or my personal officer,
01:26 or any other official, if you feel that they are committing a crime, please investigate.
01:32 Don't wait for my instruction or any blessing from me.
01:36 I give you all the blessing to investigate all these people."
01:40 And speaking about integrity, it is closely related to the issue of corruption,
01:52 which will happen if we all do not practice integrity to build the Ministry and also our country.
02:03 I hope you all understand that integrity is to do things correctly without being monitored or noticed.
02:14 There are many verses in the Quran that say that Allah sees what we do.
02:19 So when we do something good or bad, in our hearts, we feel whether it is good or bad.
02:30 And then, to lead ourselves, ladies and gentlemen, to me,
02:34 not because we are being watched, but our own feelings or our own souls
02:41 to do good things in this world so that our country is safe and secure.
02:47 In that way, as we all understand, corruption prevents the progress of a country and also the future.
02:58 A country will not progress and the future will be built, and what is built will be destroyed if corruption is not eradicated.
03:05 The money allocated for the development of the country has been misused and stolen by the corrupt.
03:11 I spoke to Mr. Salim about a case that happened in Sabah.
03:15 I said that case is where we found money from a director,
03:20 he has a house worth 53.3 million, a cash cow.
03:25 I said that in my life, maybe after I retire, I will not find a case like this.
03:30 And I consider this as a case of daylight robbery,
03:33 where he can't even feel ashamed to take people's money or steal people's money.
03:39 This is talking about corruption, we are also talking about tax evasion or leakages.
03:47 Where the allocation of funds in the government causes us to spend more in a way that harms us
03:55 and not because we have to work more to compensate for the loss of funds.
04:01 In saving funds, there are two things, either we are cost saving or we are increasing our economy.
04:11 At least if we can reduce the cost saving, we can save money for a year,
04:19 more or less 20 billion.
04:21 Speaking of 20 billion, we can save it indirectly.
04:25 This money can be used in various ways,
04:28 pay the salary of workers or maybe increase the bonus to the government is enough.
04:35 I think the bonus, if you want to pay, is more or less,
04:38 the budget implication is only 2 billion a year.
04:41 If we can save in 20 billion, then 2 billion out of 20 billion is not that much.
