00:00Today I will take you on a tour of Bangladesh.
00:03The full name of Bangladesh is the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
00:06This is a country in South Asia.
00:08This is the 8th most populous country in the world.
00:12The current population of this country is 17,47,01,200 people.
00:18In terms of land area, it ranks 92nd in the world,
00:22which is spread over 148,460 square kilometers.
00:27Friends, if we talk about the history of Bangladesh,
00:30then till December 16, 1971, Bangladesh was a part of Pakistan,
00:34which was called East Pakistan.
00:36Pakistan gained independence from Britain on August 14, 1947.
00:40East Pakistan, i.e. Bangladesh, was 1.6 million kilometers away from West Pakistan.
00:45The language and culture of East Pakistan was completely different from that of West Pakistan.
00:50But friends, what were the reasons that Pakistan and Bangladesh became different nations?
00:55The biggest problem was the language.
00:57This problem started with the formation of Pakistan,
01:00because the Bengalis wanted the national language of West Pakistan to be Bengali.
01:04Then this problem continued to increase.
01:06And the second big problem was the economy.
01:08Bengalis have always claimed that the money of East Pakistan is being spent in West Pakistan.
01:13And at that time, the per capita income of West Pakistan was 504 rupees,
01:17and the per capita income of East Pakistan, which is called Bengal, was 314 rupees.
01:22In the time of Ayub Khan, some such trade policies were brought in,
01:25due to which East Pakistan had to suffer.
01:27As any product of West Pakistan could be sold easily in East Pakistan.
01:32But if any product of East Pakistan was sold in West Pakistan,
01:36then it would have been tariffed.
01:38So in this way, a sense of deprivation was created among the people of Bangladesh,
01:42and the Bengalis demanded a separate country.
01:45Due to which the war of 1971 began,
01:47and in 1971, East Pakistan was liberated with the help of India,
01:51and its name was given Bangladesh.
01:54Friends, in short, both East and West became the reason for Bangladesh to become
01:58the capital of both the rulers of Pakistan.
02:03The national language of Bangladesh is Bengali.
02:05In this country, Bengali is spoken 99%, while 1% is spoken in other languages.
02:11Bangladesh is an Islamic country.
02:1391% are Muslims here, while 8% are Hindus and 1% are people of other religions.
02:20After independence, Bangladesh has also gone through a lot of crisis.
02:24But after a while, with the good decisions of the rulers here,
02:27Bangladesh controlled its economy and started a journey of progress.
02:32Friends, all this was what happened in the past.
02:36Now let's talk about the present, i.e. how are the current conditions of Bangladesh
02:40and what is going on here.
02:42Friends, the young people who are there against the quota system in Bangladesh
02:46have come out on the streets.
02:48In the government jobs in Bangladesh,
02:50against the quota system, the protest marches of the students
02:53from 15 July 2024 have taken extreme measures.
02:57According to the French news agency AFP,
03:00the total number of deaths in the marches has been 39 so far,
03:05and the number of injured has been 702 so far.
03:09According to The Independent,
03:11104 police officers and 30 journalists are among the injured.
03:15Students of the university in Bangladesh have been protesting
03:19against the quota for 30% of those who fought against Pakistan in 1971
03:24in government jobs for many days.
03:28In 2018, the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena Wajid
03:33announced that after such a protest, 30% of the quota system was abolished.
03:39But in June 2024, a new protest movement was born
03:43to revive the quota system by the court,
03:47which is currently going on,
03:49and the media of the whole world is reporting it.
03:53But friends, it is very strange that if something happens in Pakistan,
03:56they put a label on India,
03:58and if something happens in India, they put a label on Pakistan.
04:01Now that something is happening in Bangladesh,
04:03they are putting a label on Pakistan.
04:05Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Haseena Wajid
04:08has identified the student participating in the protest
04:11as one of the volunteers who helped Pakistan in the 1971 war
04:15and has been declared an agent of Pakistan.
04:19The student participating in the protest said
04:22that he was insulted by this allegation,
04:24so Sheikh Haseena Wajid apologized to him.
04:28For this reason, the people of Bangladesh
04:31who are standing on the roads to get this thing done,
04:34the government has shut down the internet.
04:36For the past few hours,
04:38Bangladesh has been in contact with the whole world.
04:41Friends, from all over the world, everyone's eyes are on Bangladesh.
04:44And young people are trying to get their demands fulfilled
04:47by turning the roads in their favor.
04:50That's why Bangladesh...
