Oregon's Impact in the Big 10: Title Contenders or Overrated?

00:00Michigan is not as talented going into the season as Ohio State. That I know. But the
00:08fascinating part of the Big Ten this year is not only that Oregon is in it, but they're
00:11also one of the favorites to win the conference. You know, Bill, they're supposed to be really
00:16good this year. I don't know. It's not that I question that, but I always wonder, like
00:21with this massive change going on with the travel and everything else that involved,
00:25can Oregon in their first year win the Big Ten? They're plus 250, second best odds to
00:31win this conference, followed by Penn State. For those wondering, Nittany Lions supposed
00:36to be very good this season, followed by Michigan and then USC. So I would ask you, Bill, is
00:42Oregon a tad overrated going into their first year in the Big Ten? I know they have a Heisman
00:47candidate as well. Hey, they caught my attention by being number three in the coaches pool.
00:52I thought that might be a Texas or an Alabama or somebody else out of the SEC. But so the
00:57faith is in there. And Dan Lanning, very aggressive, very, as he said at Big Ten Media Day, they're
01:03bringing something different to the conference. And that is swag and those uniforms and all
01:09those things. The buttoned up Big Ten that people like me grew up with aren't used to.
01:13So I have October 12th circled. The Ohio State goes out there. This Oregon team has both
01:19of their offensive tackles as Dylan Gabriel has played a ton of football, brought in Evan
01:24Stewart out of the transfer portal. They're going to be very exciting on the offensive
01:28side of the ball. And I want to see if they can handle this Ohio State machine at home.
01:33If they can't, you got to figure they might play in a rematch. They might play in the
01:37playoff. I still think Ohio State's the team to beat in the Big Ten. And I'm going to trust
01:42that. I want to see if Oregon can actually make this something other than Ohio State
01:46versus Michigan, which it's been the last three years.
