00:00We are live from Chippewa Square this morning where the famous scene of, I'm
00:06gonna change the wording a little bit, Debbie is like a box of chocolates, you
00:10never know what you're gonna get. That's the saying of the morning at least, right?
00:13Cedar Key, very different yesterday when we were live from where we are this
00:17morning here in the downtown district of Savannah, Georgia. If you take a look
00:21behind me here, yes of course, that is the scene from the Forrest Gump movie. Very
00:27beautiful, very picturesque, not much happening in this area. It is certainly
00:31quiet here in the downtown district this morning and that's why I wanted to bring
00:35you live to this area this morning, to give you a perspective of the streets. Of
00:40course you're gonna see some debris here and there, that's because we did see some
00:43heavy rain, some strong winds at times in this area, but nothing in comparison to
00:49what we've seen at least in other parts of the area or in other states due to
00:55debris. Now earlier this morning, if you were tuned in, we were live over in the
00:59White Bluff neighborhood of Savannah here. Very different scene over in that
01:04area, that's because there was some major flooding. If you take a look at the video
01:07up on your screen right now, people were getting stuck, they were getting stalled
01:11out with their cars, potentially driving into water that at times was knee-deep.
01:17People inside of hotels, inside of their apartment buildings, having a hard time
01:22getting out this morning due to that flooding. That is something that people
01:26in this area are going to experience over the next couple of days as the rain
01:30still does come down here in this area. That could continue over the next few
01:34days, especially if they have some hard times with their drainage, which we saw
01:38this morning, but crews definitely out to try and avoid some of those problems.
01:42But bringing you back live now to the downtown district, I mean it is
01:46beautiful here this morning and I figured if I'm gonna end my live shots
01:49in any way, this was the place to do it. Gorgeous! I agree, rain can't hurt anyone either.
01:55Hey, if you want to get a bite to eat, don't forget Paula Deen's restaurant not
01:59far away from there, Miss Allie. Get a good bite to eat there and I'll tell you
02:03what, the heaviest rain, at least for now, is over in Savannah. It's well off to the north.
