AccuWeather's Ali Reid was in Kenner, Louisiana, where floodwaters from Francine pushed inland and inundated the streets on Sept. 12. Fish were spotted swimming in the flooded streets.

00:35All over this area. We've been seeing a ton of them
00:38And if you take a look around just talking about the neighborhood in and of itself
00:43There has been a ton of flooding. Look at this home. Look at the front yard of this home here. Ah

00:58The water was up to your waist and everything like that. So how are you guys doing? You all right?
01:02We're doing fine. It's just electricity's been out for like the since yesterday and then it's been started since you know
01:08Last yesterday. I know that you guys have been through hurricanes in the past
01:13Obviously not nearly as bad as devastation as what we've seen in previous storms
01:17But how are you stacking this up in comparison to storms that we've seen in previous years? Well, this was more water
01:23Uh related and then the last one before uh, ida was more of wind and gusts
01:29So you just yeah
01:31Different elements at different times. You'd say more flooding. I think a lot of people would agree with you on that
01:36How is your home? How's your sister's home? Is it okay? I'm gonna check it right now. So

01:58The the they do have a drain pump over there. They do have a number of uh,
02:03Things that they're using to actually clear this area out

02:06And and they've been doing a great job at that because within the last 10 minutes that we've been standing here this entire
02:12Area here was completely flooded and now you'll notice of course again that water now going down
02:18But really just an incredible sight to see debris really everywhere here, which is unfortunate to see
02:23Um, but you heard from from eric as we just spoke to him
02:27He says that a lot more flooded waters than we've seen in previous storms
02:32Uh in terms of actual home damage not nearly as bad
02:36but of course
02:36It is the the flooded waters that many people are going to be dealing with today waking up and really assessing the damage
02:42We've been seeing people really just come outside of their homes checking to see if their cars are okay
02:48You see this video on your screen here. Uh, this is just as we were driving throughout the neighborhood
02:52I wanted to give you guys a perspective of what it was like actually getting here
02:56A lot of the roads are closed police are blocking off different areas as well

03:45Um again, I think the biggest thing this morning is that many communities here, especially in kenner
03:51This seems to be the major area that's impacted because of the storm. They're dealing with flash flooding this morning
03:58But I think the biggest thing is it's early
04:00People are out and they're already clearing a lot of the storm drains here and that is a huge positive
04:06Being this early in this morning and that they're able to get the waters down as quickly as they have
04:11Never know what to expect. Allie the mom in me though is just saying please wash your hands. Yeah
