00:00Allie we really appreciate you just being so on the move and really telling the entire story here across the gulf coast for us
00:08Well, i've got some action for you I promised I would bring something for you guys this morning
00:12Take a look at this guy. I think maybe he's a carp. We've been seeing fish all over
00:18I want to try and help him out. Can we try and get him? All right
00:21All right. He's moving. I want to try and get him out of the drain if I can come on buddy
00:26I want to help him. All right. I don't think I can help him
00:29But here's the thing. I want to move if we can there are fish
00:33crawfish crabs
00:35All over this area. We've been seeing a ton of them
00:38And if you take a look around just talking about the neighborhood in and of itself
00:43There has been a ton of flooding. Look at this home. Look at the front yard of this home here. Ah
00:49That's something to see, huh?
00:51Hi there. We're live on the Accuweather network. You live on this street here
00:55Yeah, my sister does and then I live on the block over there
00:58The water was up to your waist and everything like that. So how are you guys doing? You all right?
01:02We're doing fine. It's just electricity's been out for like the since yesterday and then it's been started since you know
01:08Last yesterday. I know that you guys have been through hurricanes in the past
01:13Obviously not nearly as bad as devastation as what we've seen in previous storms
01:17But how are you stacking this up in comparison to storms that we've seen in previous years? Well, this was more water
01:23Uh related and then the last one before uh, ida was more of wind and gusts
01:29So you just yeah
01:31Different elements at different times. You'd say more flooding. I think a lot of people would agree with you on that
01:36How is your home? How's your sister's home? Is it okay? I'm gonna check it right now. So
01:41Okay, you go do your thing. What's your name? Uh, eric eric. Nice to meet you
01:45I hope that your sister's home is all right. I hope that you get there
01:48I know that the flooded roads are okay
01:49But guys again, I just want to keep this moving if we can just walk with me here for a second
01:54You'd actually I do want to show you one thing mike if you can show that
01:58The the they do have a drain pump over there. They do have a number of uh,
02:03Things that they're using to actually clear this area out
02:06um
02:06And and they've been doing a great job at that because within the last 10 minutes that we've been standing here this entire
02:12Area here was completely flooded and now you'll notice of course again that water now going down
02:18But really just an incredible sight to see debris really everywhere here, which is unfortunate to see
02:23Um, but you heard from from eric as we just spoke to him
02:27He says that a lot more flooded waters than we've seen in previous storms
02:32Uh in terms of actual home damage not nearly as bad
02:36but of course
02:36It is the the flooded waters that many people are going to be dealing with today waking up and really assessing the damage
02:42We've been seeing people really just come outside of their homes checking to see if their cars are okay
02:48You see this video on your screen here. Uh, this is just as we were driving throughout the neighborhood
02:52I wanted to give you guys a perspective of what it was like actually getting here
02:56A lot of the roads are closed police are blocking off different areas as well
03:01Uh, mike you're pointing my direction. What are you looking at another fish?
03:04big fish
03:06We've got the fish video. Uh, but yeah
03:09If we want to bring it back live though, I can show you I mean again this person's front lawn
03:15Did I almost step on one? Oh my look at this
03:18Come back to me live guys. Look at this. They're everywhere. These fish don't know where to go guys
03:23Wow, that's wild, huh?
03:25Something to see wait show that one more time. I want to get up on this
03:28I really I mean again, we've been seeing crawfish crabs fish really everywhere here
03:34Just wanted to keep this fluid for you guys. Just show you some movement so that you get an idea. Oh, wow
03:40I don't know. He's a little nervous
03:42I would be too if I was swimming through the street
03:45Um again, I think the biggest thing this morning is that many communities here, especially in kenner
03:51This seems to be the major area that's impacted because of the storm. They're dealing with flash flooding this morning
03:58But I think the biggest thing is it's early
04:00People are out and they're already clearing a lot of the storm drains here and that is a huge positive
04:06Being this early in this morning and that they're able to get the waters down as quickly as they have
04:11Never know what to expect. Allie the mom in me though is just saying please wash your hands. Yeah
04:19I've got hand sanitizer. Don't worry. I figured you do. I'm sure you have a whole kit ready to go. All right, allie, uh,
04:26live, uh
04:28Dealing with some fish who eventually are a little sounds like they're a little camera shy in kenner, louisiana this morning. Thanks for joining us
