00:00When I first saw Tofu, Tofu was chained to a pole.
00:08Tofu really, really hated being put in chains.
00:14Everyone is there and we're playing to peace on a rescue mission.
00:17He'll live out the rest of his days forever here if we don't intervene.
00:20I found Tofu at a riding camp where tourists go and ride elephants.
00:25The people running these places tend not to pee for the elephant.
00:29The day that we finally negotiated Tofu's freedom,
00:32they dropped him off in the middle of the woods.
00:36Tofu, like a champ.
00:39This was the first baby elephant that I've ever rescued.
00:43Tofu is going to be rewilded.
00:45He's going to be the first ever elephant that we put back into the wild.
00:49So that's also kind of exciting.
00:52One thing for certain is that Tofu would have lived out the rest of his day in chains.
00:56So seeing those chains come off, that's what it's all about.

01:10Once we take these chains off and these are all new people he's around.
01:14So we decided to bring in another elephant that was rescued to come just kind of help us
01:20and help guide Tofu through as we started the walk to freedom.

01:38Once this baby boy crosses this little stream, he'll forever be free.
01:44This is where our property begins.
01:48Our number one golden rule is we never help one elephant to hurt another.
01:53So we want to make sure that no money that we use will go towards buying another elephant.

02:02It was awesome when Tofu became the mandalao and we were able to introduce Tofu to the matriarch.
