She recognizes her old elephant friend who was rescued from the same place ❤️ We talked to Aaron, who rescued Mare Noi and watched the anxiety melt away from her when she got to her new home.

00:00This gorgeous girl has been in chains for 41 years and this is her first time walking free.
00:06You are looking at the newest free elephant in the world.
00:10I met Mayor Noi deep in the jungle. She was used as a logging elephant and a forced breeder.
00:18She basically spent every day of her life pulling logs like hundreds and hundreds of trees every
00:24day that she had to pull out of the forest and then when she wasn't doing that they were forced
00:29breeding her. Unfortunately she lost every baby. She lost two to miscarriages and one stillbirth.
00:38So really really bad situation. Right when we saw her I knew like okay we're going to rescue her.
00:44We are very very excited to partner with Goon Lot Elephant Rescue to secure Mayor Noi's freedom
00:52and break the chain. Goon Lot has an incredible safe transport truck. Transporting an elephant is
01:00a very difficult process. It took roughly an hour or so from where she was to get her to Goon Lot.
01:06Bye bye old lion. She did great. It's like she knew that we were really there to help her.
01:13The puppies are excited for their new sister. How cute is this? All the puppies are waiting to meet
01:19their new elephant sister. When we arrived at the sanctuary, which is 400 acres, there were also other
01:26rescued animals that were waiting for her. And I can tell she's walking really really fast because
01:31she's used to having chains around her feet. When Mayor Noi showed up, Catherine of Goon Lots had laid
01:37out all these different fruits in a heart shape. Kind of like a treat to start her journey as a
01:42free elephant. Welcome to the flesh Mayor Noi. We kind of let her just walk around, explore her new home a little bit.
01:52She fit right in like right away. Her just demeanor just absolutely changed. You could tell that the
01:58anxiety was leaving her body. One thing that was really special is one of the elephants that
02:05Catherine and Goon Lot has already rescued was an old logging elephant with Mayor Noi. So they
02:11knew each other. Elephants, they remember each other. It's like seeing an old friend.
02:23I've never helped an elephant that was a force breeder. So this was even a unique experience.
02:31There are just literally thousands of elephants that need help. Our goal is to try to rescue an
02:38elephant every month. She was a happy girl and that made us all feel really really good.
