00:00Computer Science videos here today to show you guys in this tutorial how to
00:05open up a web browser using terminal or terminal commands on a Mac computer.
00:09Without further ado let us start the video. So in this tutorial you need to
00:14have access to a Mac computer be able to use terminal commands to open up the
00:18web browser which can be Safari, Google Chrome, Opera, even Firefox or any other
00:23web browser that you use on a regular basis on your Mac computer. So we're
00:28going to start this tutorial. Let's now go all the way down to the dock, go to
00:32launchpad, search for the command prompt terminal, open that up. Let's now
00:38increase the size of the terminal window as well as the text size on screen using
00:43command plus a couple of times. Let's now clear all the content on screen. For this
00:49tutorial we are not really required to navigate into folders and directories
00:54however what we can do is just change directory, print working directory and
01:01now let's execute the command that will allow us to open up Safari using
01:10terminal and the commands on screen. So open minus or hyphen a for application
01:19and the application name which is Safari. Return and there we have Safari
01:29open up on screen. Let's now minimize Safari for the moment. Go back up
01:40Google Chrome. Enter and there we have Chrome opened up. Let's now quit Google
01:56Chrome. Let's now quit Safari. Let's now clear the content on screen. Let's now
02:05quit terminal. And so that's it for this video. I'll see you guys on the next tutorial.
