  • last month
Prophet Jacob guides the Israelites to pray to the One and Only God. God annunciates to him about the next prophet, who will be from his own generation. One night, his son, Joseph, dreams about the sun, the moon and eleven stars which kneel in front of him. He tells Jacob, who advises him not to tell his brothers about the dream. Prophet Joseph is dear to Jews, Christians and Muslims alike. For centuries, the story of his life has been told over and over in many different ways and in many different languages. This is the Iranian version of a very beloved story.

00:01She has borne the snide remarks of the women of Harren for just as many years.
00:09They have called her many things. Infertile, barren and sterile.
00:16Forgive me, High Priest. I have plans for Jacob and his family tonight.
00:35Please leave me.
00:38May God curse Jacob and his family. Jacob's infidelity will not go unpunished. He must be punished.
00:56O great Ishtar, pour the flames of your wrath on Jacob and his family.
01:03Rachel, as well as her infant, must perish this very night.
01:15Despite everything, I'm not worried about Rachel and the baby.
01:21But I fear that their death would cause the rejoicing of the heads of the temple and the idolaters.
01:27I fear the efforts I've made over the years to annihilate idolatry will be in vain.
01:33Do something. Save my wife and baby. Saving them will enlighten the people of Harren.
01:43Saving them would mean the defeat of Ishtar's temple and turn the people from polytheism.
01:50My Lord, help me. Help me, Lord. Help me.
02:20Help me, Lord.
02:50Help me, Lord.

13:13Yes.
13:15The sorceress burned in the fire.
13:20Their stuff is burned as well.
13:22Can't we do anything for her?
13:24Can a fire burn a temple sorceress?
13:26Of course it can. She's not a goddess.
13:28She burns as well.
13:30That was the mighty Ishtar goddess?
