00:00A drug suspect in Cebu City was in the court of the NBI.

00:03He was a drug trafficker who was selling shabu near a church.

00:17After receiving information that an illegal drug trafficker

00:21was only a few meters away from Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral,

00:25the National Bureau of Investigation, Central Visayas Regional Office,

00:30conducted an operation.

00:31The target suspect, known as Baby Umpad Talaba, was arrested.

00:36We received that this certain indai is selling prohibited drugs

00:43at a jeepney terminal near the cathedral

00:47to jeepney drivers, taxi drivers, and even these habal-habal or drivers.

00:54Authorities were able to get more than 20 packages of shabu and money from Talaba.

01:00According to the NBI's investigation,

01:02Talaba has been selling drugs to PUV drivers for a long time.

01:07Based on our initial surveillance,

01:12although we just received it this month, the first week of July,

01:17that this operation has been going on for several years

01:22because as we all know in Cebu,

01:27this area in the cathedral has been a long-time location of this jeepney terminal

01:36and the suspect, Baby Umpad, has been selling her wares

01:47Talaba was put under the Inquest Proceedings while the NBI is coordinating with other agencies of the government

01:54to investigate the PUV drivers, the paroquians of the last drug reseller.

02:01The case of violation of Section 5 and 12 of RA 9165 was filed against Talaba by the authorities.
