बिहार में पुलों के गिरने की लगातार होती घटनाओं पर सरकार ने अपना पक्ष रखा है। ग्रामीण कार्य मंत्री अशोक चौधरी ने तेजस्वी यादव पर बिहार को बदनाम करने का आरोप लगाते हुए कहा कि तेजस्वी यादव को पुल और पुलिया में फर्क तक पता नहीं है। अशोक चौधरी ने कहा कि ग्रामीण कार्य विभाग द्वारा बनाये जा रहे गिरे पुलों को अभी तक जनता को समर्पित नहीं किया गया था। अररिया की घटना को निगरानी मंत्री मंडल से जाँच करवाई जा रही है। अशोक चौधरी के मुताबिक बिहार के पुलों को लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने जो भी गाइडलाइन दिया है मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार ने उससे पहले ही मीटिंग कर के सारे विभागों को वो हिदायत दे दी है। अशोक चौधरी ने दावा किया कि नीतीश कुमार के शासनकाल में दो से ढाई लाख पुल बने लेकिन विपक्ष द्वारा तथ्यहीन अफवाह फैलाई जा रही है।
