00:28There are going to be a lot of fast people there.

00:30Luckily, I've raced against them before. This isn't anything new.

00:34I've raced against the best in the world.

00:36The goal is just to survive in advance.

00:38I'm not trying to get knocked out the first round.

00:40I'm trying to make it as far as possible.

00:42So, that is my goal.

00:44In addition to the Duke University star,

00:46she was inspired by her fellow athletes like EJ Oviena.

00:52One day, she hoped that she will be an inspiration not only to the athletes,

00:58but also to every Filipino who can achieve their dreams.

01:02I would say it's important to remember that progress is not linear.

01:06You're not always going to be running PBs. You're not always going to be healthy.

01:10Things get tough and progress doesn't look like a straight line going up.

01:14You know, it kind of like dips down. There's valleys. There's mountains.

01:18So, I think just believing in yourself and trusting the process is the most important thing you can do.

01:22Yeah, just believe in yourself.

01:24Even when times are tough.

01:26Even when you need to take one step back before two steps forward.

01:29Like, just keep your goals in mind and believe in your abilities.

01:34Hoffman participated in the 400-meter hurdles event in August 4.
