Over 100 foreigners detained in separate ops in Johor

More than 100 foreigners were arrested in Kulai and Kota Tinggi districts from July 28 until July 30.

Johor Immigration Department director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the foreigners were found working without permits, did not possess valid travel documents and had overstayed in Malaysia.

00:00More than 100 foreigners were arrested in Kulai and Kota Tinggi districts from July 28 until July 30.
00:10Johor Immigration Department Director Datuk Mohamad Rusti Mohamad Darus said the foreigners were found working without permits,
00:18did not possess valid travel documents and had overstayed in Malaysia.
00:22Mohamad Rusti said the foreigners arrested were from Bangladesh, Indonesia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Myanmar, Cambodia, India and Nepal.
00:30Those arrested were aged between 17 and 65.
00:34Also arrested was a 31-year-old local man believed to be a human resources manager with a factory in Kulai.
00:42The offences allegedly committed were under the Immigration Regulations 1963 and Immigration Act 1959-63.
00:52Mohamad Rusti said the Johor Immigration Department will not compromise and will take stern action against employers and business owners for employing illegal foreign workers.
