00:00The Liberal Party is proud to announce that we are standing candidates for the first time

00:04ever for a Shoalhaven City Council election.

00:07We are doing so because we are so concerned about the direction of the Council under the

00:11Labor and Greens majority.

00:13We are putting forward a clear plan to get the Shoalhaven back on track.

00:17That's all about getting the budget mess under control, investing in the roads that we need

00:20to rebuild, delivering a credible waste strategy and putting our community first.

00:26Being Liberal in this election is all about changing the Council and getting the Shoalhaven

00:30back on track.

00:31Well, the whole thing has gone completely pear-shaped.

00:33It's blown up in the Mayor's face.

00:35And there are other concerns about projects in this precinct as well, including the Materials

00:40Recovery Facility, which is now five years down the track.

00:43It's on hold officially on the Council website, no end in sight, no delivery on that project

00:48clear at this point, with millions and millions of dollars of ratepayer money having been

00:52invested in that project.

00:53Discussing with my, hopefully, future colleagues over the last couple of months, we've thought

00:59that it's time to get Council back on track.

01:01The best way to do that is through a Liberal team.

01:04The proof is in the pudding.

01:05We've seen Liberal governments at a Federal level and at a State level come in and clean

01:09up the mess.

01:10I decided to stand for the Shoalhaven City Council as part of a Liberal team because

01:16I know that that is the only way that we can get Council back on track and ensure that

01:20we are the number one region, as we should be.
