00:00But before that, let me go back to the Venezuelan election.
00:02I'm having trouble understanding the U.S. assessment at this point.
00:06The Secretary said that it does not reflect the will or the voice of the people.
00:11What does it reflect?
00:13Is it stolen?
00:14Can you be precise about your assessment at this point?
00:16MR.
00:17VENTRELLALEX, U.S. Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Relations
00:18Alex, that is exactly what we are working closely and in close coordination with partners
00:22and allies to unearth, and that is why you saw the Secretary call for a publication of
00:29the detailed tabulation of votes, and that's what us and other regional partners are looking
00:34for as well.
00:35We have also seen some of the like-minded authoritarian leaders of Maduro, his allies,
00:43congratulating him, Putin of the world, Aliyev, others.
00:47Do you think they have compelling information before they jump to their conclusion?
00:51Do you know, Alex, I'm not a spokesperson for those governments, so I will leave it
00:55to them.
00:56But again, echoing the Secretary, we have serious concern about these results and have
01:02concerns that they don't reflect the will and the votes of the Venezuelan people.
01:06That is why it is of great importance that every vote is counted fairly and transparently
01:12and that election officials immediately share information with opposition and independent
01:18observers.
01:19And on top of that, electoral representatives should publish the detailed tabulation of
01:23the votes, and that's what we're looking for.
01:26Good luck.
