वायनाड में हुए भूस्खलन पर लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता और कांग्रेस सांसद राहुल गांधी ने कहा, "आज सुबह वायनाड में कई विनाशकारी भूस्खलन हुए। 70 से ज़्यादा लोगों की जान गई है। राहुल गांधी ने कहा, मैंने रक्षा मंत्री और केरल के मुख्यमंत्री से बात की है। मैं केंद्र सरकार से अनुरोध करता हूं कि बचाव और चिकित्सा देखभाल के लिए हर संभव सहायता प्रदान की जाए, मृतकों को तत्काल मुआवजा दिया जाए और महत्वपूर्ण परिवहन और संचार लाइनों को बहाल किया जाए, जल्द से जल्द राहत की व्यवस्था की जाए और प्रभावित परिवारों के पुनर्वास के लिए रोडमैप तैयार किया जाए।

00:54looms over many areas in Wayanad and the Western Ghats. Our country has witnessed an alarming
01:01rise in the landslides in the last few years. There is an urgent need for mapping of landslide-prone
01:07areas and to take up mitigation measures and an action plan to address the growing frequency
01:13of natural calamities in the ecologically fragile region.
