Two men who were arrested in Sydney's east last week during a dramatic police operation are each facing a new charge of conspiracy to murder. Today a Sydney court heard they approached the wrong car and allegedly pointed a gun at an innocent witness who had a child with them.

00:0020-year-old Yusuf Zreika and his 24-year-old co-accused Siosi Tupelahi are facing about
00:07a dozen charges each after they were arrested in Dover Heights on Thursday.
00:12Today in court it was revealed those charges now include conspiracy to murder, but the
00:17intended target of that alleged murder plot can't be revealed due to an interim court
00:21suppression order.
00:23What can be revealed is details of the alleged plot.
00:26The magistrate heard it allegedly involved two pistols, disguises, gloves, a jerry can
00:31and getaway vehicles with cloned plates.
00:34In opposing bail, the police prosecutor said the accused twice stopped vehicles of a similar
00:39make and model to the intended target.
00:43On one of those occasions, Mr Tupelahi is accused of pointing a gun at a witness who
00:47put their hands in the air and that witness had a child with them.
00:51The incident was described as well-planned but very poorly executed.
00:56The men each face a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison for the conspiracy to murder
01:01charge and they were both denied bail.
