00:00The Philippines claims that there is no need to ask for permission from China
00:05to carry out the RORE mission in your island.
00:11First, the Philippines questioned the China's permission
00:15despite the professional arrangement being agreed upon.
00:19Patrick De Souza sent the news.
00:24The Department of Foreign Affairs
00:26agreed to the Chinese Foreign Ministry's permission
00:29until the successful rotation and resupply of the RORE mission
00:33to the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayunginshol, Kamakailan.
00:37The DFA said,
00:38instead of acknowledging the desire of both countries to ease tensions,
00:43it seemed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China
00:47chose to overturn the agreement.
00:50The DFA clarified,
00:52the agreement was said not to affect
00:55the position of the Philippines and China on the issue in the West Philippine Sea.
01:00Therefore, it will not help to give false information about this.
01:05The DFA added,
01:07the Philippines will continue to be a contestant in our Exclusive Economic Zone or EEZ
01:13and legal activities will be carried out here.
01:17The presence in Ayunginshol of the BRP Sierra Madre,
01:21which is a commission naval vessel,
01:23is in accordance with the sovereign rights and jurisdictions of the country.
01:27Therefore, the DFA hopes that China will follow the agreement.
01:32The National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea
01:36has already made a mistake in having an inspection of the China Coast Guard
01:39in the past RORE under Provisional Understanding.
01:43Although the four ships of the China Coast Guard,
01:47three PLA Navy,
01:48and two Chinese Maritime Militia
01:51have remained at a distance
01:54from the rented civilian vessel of the AFP, the MLAPULAPU,
01:58and the escort vessel of the PCG, the BRP Cape Engaño,
02:02for one to five nautical miles.
02:04The Philippines also did not inform about the RORE,
02:08except in the statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
02:11Most importantly,
02:12we will not allow them to inspect the cargo of our supply boat
02:18because the Department of Foreign Affairs said
02:22that whatever agreement is reached in this Provisional Understanding,
02:26it is not prejudicial to the interests of both countries.
02:31The government hopes that the next RORE will remain peaceful
02:37and that there will be no harassment from the ships of China.
02:41We are still optimistic that this arrangement will last long,
02:46that it will be peaceful, not tense,
02:50and that we will be able to deliver supplies to our soldiers
02:55because it is a routine and a legitimate resupply operation
03:02of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
