00:10Venezuela's official 2024 presidential election campaign season ended last night at midnight.
00:16The National Electoral Council has announced that this year's elections are guaranteed to be free,
00:23transparent and trustworthy. And in order to guarantee this to happen,
00:27there's a series of measures that have come into place today that will remain in place until the end of voting on Sunday afternoon.
00:35First of all, all sales of alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
00:39Secondly,
00:40newspapers, radios and television stations are not allowed to promote any candidates, to provide any kind of election
00:48analysis or talk about polls until after the elections are over. In order to secure the integrity of the entire
00:56electoral system, the military has enacted the Republic Plan. The Republic Plan is a
01:02deployment of a hundred and eighty-eight thousand personnel, among them military, police and firefighters,
01:08to guarantee the integrity and the security of the voting machines in thousands of voting centers around the country.
01:15So it's a regular working day here in Caracas.
01:18I'm in the center of the city and as you can see behind me, people are just going about
01:22on their normal day-to-day business, working, shopping, enjoying the nice weather here in Caracas and
01:28the elections will start on Sunday morning. All eyes turn to Venezuela for the
01:332024 presidential elections, as over 20 million voters are invited to come.
