00:00PhilHealth's bill for dialysis claims this year, 2023, has skyrocketed.

00:06According to an interview with Ray Balenya, Acting Vice President, Corporate Affairs Group of PhilHealth in the program Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon,

00:13PhilHealth said that PhilHealth spent Php 17.4 billion for 3.6 million claims of dialysis.

00:21While last year, in 2022, it was only Php 17.3 billion.

00:26Remember, PhilHealth increased the benefit package of hemodialysis for people with chronic kidney disease stage 5.

00:33From 90 sessions, it is now at Php 156.

00:36Now, it is at Php 4,000 per session.

00:40This includes the equipment and other needs of the patient.

00:43That is why a dialysis patient should have no billing.

00:47However, Balenya did not ignore the public's request for proper health insurance to avoid kidney disease.

00:55The patient should be registered in our PhilHealth dialysis database.

01:00They will be assisted by the dialysis center in registering here.

01:06That is why they should go to the center accredited by PhilHealth so that they can be properly guided.

01:13So ma'am Ninia Arcegdale, the total annual needs will reach Php 624,000.

01:22That is the benefit that we can provide to each patient every year.

01:29As of now, we have a total of 663 accredited freestanding dialysis clinics in the country.
