00:00Good morning from the Weather Forecasting Center.
00:03This is our update on the weather for the next 24 hours.
00:09You can see here in our latest satellite images,
00:11the clouds in the northwest portion of our country.
00:15These are the clouds still associated with Severe Tropical Storm Gai Mi
00:20which was the storm that hit our PR.
00:24Gai Mi was the last to pass 615 kilometers
00:28north-northwest of Itbayat, Batanes.
00:31It is now outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:34It is a severe tropical storm with a strong wind
00:37that reaches 95 kilometers per hour
00:40and 160 kilometers per hour.
00:44It continues to move westward at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
00:48This storm has no direct effect on any part of our country.
00:53However, the Southwest Monsoon
00:56continues to affect a large part of Luzon and Visayas.
01:02We will still experience a cloudy day
01:05with scattered rain, snow and lightning.
01:09The most affected part of Luzon,
01:13particularly in the western section of northern Luzon,
01:17will still be affected.
01:19Meanwhile, there will be heavy rains in the southern part of central Luzon
01:23and, as expected, in Visayas and Mindanao.
01:28We are still prepared for isolated rain showers
01:32or localized thunderstorms.
01:34At the moment, we are being watched by a low-pressure area
01:38inside our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:41Earlier at 3 a.m., it was the last to pass
01:43at a distance of 1,035 kilometers
01:45east of southeastern Mindanao.
01:47The chance of a low-pressure area
01:50with a thunderstorm within the next 24 to 48 hours is still small.
01:54However, we expect it to move to the north of Canluran
01:58and remain far away from our country.
02:01However, we expect that this LPA
02:04may cause clouds in the next few days,
02:06possibly starting Sunday in the eastern section of our country.
02:11The areas of Kabikulan, eastern Visayas, and eastern section of Mindanao
02:16will experience high chances of clouds and heavy rains
02:21in the next few days, over Sunday and early next week.
02:24Generally, the eastern section of our country
02:27will be more cloudy and rainy in the next few days.
02:29Meanwhile, we expect improving weather conditions
02:32here in the western section of the Philippines.
02:35The areas where it rained heavily in the past few days
02:38will experience clearer weather over the weekend.
02:42However, since we have witnessed
02:44extensive rainfall in the past few days,
02:46even if we experience isolated rains
02:49like thunderstorms,
02:50the chances of rain and landslides remain high.
02:57As for the weather conditions here in Luzon,
03:01due to the effects of the storm,
03:03we expect monsoon rains.
03:04These are continuous and heavy rains.
03:07In the whole Ilocos region,
03:08in the areas of Batanes and Mabuyan Islands,
03:11the occasional rains are possible.
03:15These are heavy rains in the areas of Zambales, Mataan,
03:18in the areas of Bulacan, and Pampanga.
03:22Cloudy skies with scattered rains,
03:24landslides, and landslides will be experienced
03:26in the southern part of Luzon.
03:30Our maximum temperature forecast for today
03:34is possible to reach 30 degrees Celsius.
03:3622 degrees in Baguio,
03:38and 32 degrees Celsius in Tagangaraw.
03:40Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila today
03:43is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:4529 degrees in Tagaytay,
03:48and 32 degrees Celsius in the Ligaspi City area.
03:52In the areas of Ilocos region and extreme northern Luzon,
03:55we should be prepared for flash floods and landslides
03:57because these are the areas
03:59that are most affected by the storm today.
04:02In the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
04:05we will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains,
04:09landslides, and landslides.
04:12Meanwhile, the areas of Visayas and Mindanao
04:14will be brighter in the future,
04:16but we should be prepared for isolated rains
04:19caused by localized thunderstorms.
04:21Maximum temperature forecast for Kalayaan Islands today
04:24is possible to reach 33 degrees Celsius.
04:2732 degrees in Puerto Princesa City,
04:3032 degrees Celsius in Iloilo City,
04:34and 32 degrees Celsius in Cebu City.
04:37Maximum temperature forecast for Tacloban today
04:40is possible to reach 33 degrees Celsius.
04:42And 33 degrees in the areas of Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and Zamboanga.
04:47And in terms of our ocean,
04:50we still have high gale warnings
04:52in some beaches of our country.
04:54In the areas of Batanes,
04:58northern coast of Cagayan,
04:59along the Baboyan Islands,
05:00Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur,
05:02La Union, and Pangasinan,
05:03we have high gale warnings in these areas.
05:05So, if possible, let's not go too far
05:07because we will continue to experience
05:09high waves up to very high seas
05:11brought by high winds.
05:14And in most parts of our country,
05:16we still have to be careful
05:17because moderate to rough sea conditions
05:19up to very high seas
05:20is what we can experience.
05:23The sunny day here in Manila
05:25will rise at 5.38 in the morning
05:27and set at 6.27 in the afternoon.
05:31And for more information about the weather,
