00:06Get ready for a journey in which we will tell you the history of this region.
00:10We will start from the majestic Tower of Tensions, in Obrzycki we will discover charming nooks and crannies.
00:16As always in our episode, there can be no shortage of food, which will satisfy even the most picky taste buds.
00:23Get ready for a full impression of the journey. Let's go!
00:30Szamotulski Tower of Tensions
00:45We start our journey in front of the Szamotulski Tower of Tensions, which was built during the Prussian partition.
00:52According to German architecture, it was not only supposed to perform a technical function, but also emphasize the prestige of the city.
00:59Made by Heinrich Scheven from Düsseldorf, it is characterized by a cylindrical construction on an octagonal base of brick and stone.
01:07The tower, decorated with decorative boulders and a neo-baroque portal, had a steel tank for water with a capacity of 150 m3 at a height of 36 m.
01:18Finished with an octagonal neo-baroque lantern, the tower was the central element of the modern water system,
01:26which also included a filter building, a clean water pump and two tanks.
01:36Szamotuls are famous not only for their interesting tourist attractions, but also for their very good cuisine.
01:42That's why we're going to show you such a place now. Alania is a restaurant that has been on the culinary map of the city for 15 years.
01:49However, not only can you eat deliciously here.
01:53We are a family company, this year we are celebrating our 15th birthday.
01:57I think we are already on the culinary map, but we have been operating with the breakfast concept for over a year.
02:07We serve breakfast both at the restaurant and you can drive up to us, without getting out of the car, take your breakfast to work.
02:18We also deliver to the company, we have three drivers, three breakfast routes and we can deliver delicious breakfasts every day.
02:26People come to us before work, they take a sandwich, a salad, to work, for a nutritious day, a breakfast for a child, to school, we also have a breakfast offer for children, so fruit.
02:36Free coffee for every breakfast at the beginning of the day. There will be something delicious for everyone.
02:41Another option that we provide to our customers is to rent catering equipment, which we called Konfiguratorimprezy.pl.
02:50We have tents, tents with a floor that we can set up in the garden, even make a small party, some 18th birthday or a garden party.
03:00We have a lot of event equipment, lighting, we have our own stage for bigger and smaller concerts, we have heaters, coffee machines, so there's something for everyone.
03:11If someone doesn't want to order through the website, they can meet with the manager of the restaurant in a traditional way and set up all the details and their needs.
03:21If the customer wants it, we can provide the service and of course delicious food is poured or from the dietary catering.
03:30Good morning, good morning, thank you very much, thank you, thank you too. We already have our little black one, so we can move on.
03:47In Szamotuła you can find large-format sculptures that fit perfectly into the atmosphere of the city.
03:56These unusual works of art refer to the local folk culture, the history of the city of Halszki and unusual crafts.
04:04If you visit Szamotuła, be sure to take a walk along the path of these artistic gems.
04:10You can start your walk in the charming park named after Tadeusz Kościuszko and end up on Malownicza Zamkowa Street.
04:18On the way, just like us, it is worth looking at the square of Maksymilian Ciężki, walking through the castle park and stopping at Sienkiewicza Square.
04:26Such a walk is a perfect opportunity to delve into the history and traditions of the Szamotuła sculptural plenars and experience a cool adventure.
04:36We got to the palace in Dębin, which was built around 1910 for the Bolman family.
04:43It is inspired by elegant Berlin villas.
04:47It rises proudly on a rectangular plan with a utility attic hidden under a high roof.
04:53More about this place will be told to us by Mrs. Dorota, Mr. Piotr.
04:57This is a post-German palace built in 1910, which we bought in 2002 and renovated for a very long time, because it was only opened in 2016.
05:09Here was the seat of RKS Buszewko, a well-known company in the whole of Wielkopolska, and even in the country.
05:18When it comes to the renovation of this attic, it turned out that it was enough to cut down only the old plaster, cut down the floor that was on these animals and suddenly something was discovered that really makes an impression and I have the impression that it is something completely unique.
05:34We tried to preserve all the historical values and at the same time bring here an element of freshness, so that it would not be such a overwhelming old place.
05:43First of all, silence and peace, because here we are really far from everything, from the city, from the noise of cars, planes, so this is striking.
05:54Our guests can use the accommodation base consisting of 15 rooms, we are on booking, you can call us directly to the hotel number.
06:02And from all over the area, it is a pond with an island, there are water bikes that you can use, there is a place for a barbecue, a campfire, a chill-out zone.
06:17There is a restaurant on the ground floor, it operates in full on Saturdays and Sundays with a large menu, in a smaller range per week.
06:26I have a few favorites here, there were such unexpected dishes as, for example, Boczek.
06:32The way our chef prepares this dish and this Boczek, first of all, it does not look like Boczek at all, but it tastes really great.
06:43We serve Polish cuisine, what we are characterized by is freshness, quality, seasonality and regional products, so everyone will find something for themselves.
06:54We try to change the menu every 3-4 months to keep the seasonality of the products.
06:59Duck is our standard dish, so we keep it all year round.
07:02Today, of course, there could not be a shortage of duck.
07:05Pizza with shredded duck, with red onion confiture, plum sauce, of course, and a cooler, because it was hot outside, and a dessert, everyone will find something for themselves.
07:17As you can see, all the dishes look fantastic, what would you decide on?
07:22I bet on the duck.
07:26The palace in Dębin is really an oasis of peace and relaxation, a place that stole our hearts.
07:33I especially liked this netball field, which is located, as you can see, in the ruins of an old economic building.
07:43Here you can really play fantastic matches.
07:47Unfortunately, we don't have time for that.
07:49Now we're taking you to Obrzycka.
07:51We moved to Obrzycka.
07:53In this city, at the beginning, we would like to show you a baroque town hall.
07:57It is a testimony to the ancient splendor of this city,
08:01associated with the descendants of the Obrzycki, Radziwiłł, Radomicki and Raczyński dynasties.
08:07The southern elevation of the town hall is distinguished by a renaissance window frame,
08:11brought from the church in Batalia, Portugal, in 1843 by Atanase Raczyński.
08:17On the western wall there is a cartouche with the coat of arms of the Raczyński dynasties
08:22and the date of 1825 commemorating the establishment of the Obrzycka ordination.
08:28The brothers Edward and Atanase Raczyński, known as the Poznań Mediceus,
08:32are characters deserved for Wielkopolska,
08:35thanks to which the Biblioteca Raczyńskich was created,
08:37with a rich collection of books and a gallery of paintings,
08:40currently exhibited in the National Museum in Poznań,
08:42Rogalin, Śmiałowie and Gołuchowie.
08:45The building houses the City Hall and the Municipality Hall.
08:48Our next stop in Obrzycka will certainly be very appetizing.
08:56The name came from my wife. I have a wife, Isabella.
08:59We used to run a restaurant in England for six years.
09:03It was also called Isabella and we continue it in Poland.
09:06We are based on traditional Polish cuisine.
09:09This is what we are most famous for.
09:11Good ribs, beef tartare, slightly smoked, something nice.
09:15I like it.
09:16Traditional Polish cuisine was a success in England
09:19and we continue it in Poland.
09:21However, every weekend we try to introduce a few cool new dishes.
09:25Sometimes we make Chinese, American, Italian weeks
09:29so that the menu changes.
09:32Then, in addition to the traditional Polish so-called schaboszczak,
09:35we have something cool.
09:38I think that our topka is smoked beef tartare
09:41and beef with kopecks.
09:44It's great and I can recommend it.
09:47We have children ourselves and we know how important it is
09:50that parents can eat in the restaurant
09:53and that's why we put so much pressure on the playground.
09:57This year we managed to do it.
09:59We have a corner here, a terrace.
10:01Parents sit here, looking at the kids playing downstairs.
10:05The area is fenced, so it's safe.
10:07We also have local events here.
10:10Weddings, baptisms, communions.
10:12There's a lot of it.
10:14We have a nice attraction for weddings.
10:16A beer bar.
10:17No one has seen it yet, except our guests.
10:20Let's start the tasting.
10:27Now it's time for shrimps.
10:30If you are in Isabella's restaurant,
10:33be sure to try these dishes.
10:35After the meal, we'll take you to Słopanów.
10:48The wooden church in Słopanów is a unique monument.
10:51It is distinguished not only by the beautiful,
10:54perfectly preserved polychrome.
10:56Just above the choir, you can see the figure of the devil
10:59and a cup holder with a beer cup in his hand.
11:02Is there a devil in the church?
11:04Yes, it's true.
11:05What's his story?
11:07You don't see devils very often in the church,
11:10but there's a local story about a settlement
11:13about 2 km from Słopanów.
11:15It's called Karczemka.
11:17There was a inn there.
11:19In this inn, there was this innkeeper
11:21who had some sins on her conscience.
11:23She was deceiving her friends,
11:25she didn't go to church,
11:27she committed various offences.
11:29The worst one, which apparently caused God to get angry,
11:33to hit the inn with a lightning bolt,
11:35the earth crumbled and the inn fell down,
11:38was one of the sins which is revealed here,
11:41the biggest sin.
11:43Namely, she didn't pour enough beer,
11:46but created a lot of foam.
11:49It's one of the unique wooden churches
11:52and above all, its value is highlighted by this polychrome
11:55which is from the time when the church was built,
11:58between 1695 and 1699.
12:01This polychrome mainly tells about the patron of this church,
12:04which is St. Nicholas.
12:06On the walls of both the nave and the presbytery,
12:09we have scenes which tell about different situations from life.
12:12So we have a scene where St. Nicholas
12:15saves sailors,
12:17saves a ship during a storm.
12:19We have a scene where he saves a herd of cows
12:22from wolves.
12:24The church can be seen, of course,
12:26on the occasion of the Holy Mass,
12:28which is held here once a week at 9 p.m. on Sundays.
12:31But apart from that, Mrs. Iwona lives here,
12:34who takes care of the church,
12:36who knows everything about this church
12:38and is always happy to help.
12:43We hope you enjoyed our trip
12:45around the Szamotulski poviat.
12:47We invite you to watch
12:49the next episodes of the program
