00:00The number of Filipinos experiencing starvation has risen

00:04based on the latest survey of Social Weather Stations or SWS.

00:08In the survey conducted on June 23 to July 1,

00:11it was found that 17.6% of the Filipino families

00:14said that they are starving,

00:16which is higher than 14.2% in March.

00:20This is the highest since September 2020

00:24following the COVID-19 pandemic.

00:26Of the 17.6% of the families starved,

00:3012.8% experienced moderate hunger

00:33or sometimes starvation in the past three months.

00:374.9% said they experienced severe hunger.

00:43Metro Manila,

00:44the majority said they experienced starvation.

00:47The lowest was in Visayas.

00:501,500 Filipinos responded to the survey.
