00:06it clearly states that devolution of state's share in taxes
00:12In this budget of 2024-25, 1,24,000 crore rupees have been given to different states.
00:241,24,000 crore rupees.
00:27But Delhi people did not get a single rupee in share in taxes.
00:32In the same way, for Grants for Local Bodies, 82,207 crore rupees have been allocated to different local bodies,
00:45urban local bodies, rural local bodies.
00:50But Delhi Municipal Corporation did not get a single rupee in this budget.
00:58It is not that Delhi people do not contribute to the central government's taxes and revenue.
01:07In fact, it is the opposite.
01:10Delhi is an important engine of the country's economic growth.
01:16Delhi gives more than 2,00,000 crore rupees to the central government every year.
01:26If we look at the exact figure of last year,
01:302,00,000 crore rupees were given to the central government by the people of Delhi through their hard earned money.
01:40Apart from that, the central share of CGST,
01:4525,000 crore rupees were given to the central government by the people of Delhi.
01:52In total, 2,32,000 crore rupees of taxes were given to the central government by the people of Delhi.
02:02What were the people of Delhi asking for?
02:05The people of Delhi were asking for a 5% share of 10,000 crore rupees to be given to Delhi for its infrastructure development.
02:14What were the people of Delhi asking for?
02:17That an additional 5% share of it should be given to Delhi Municipal Corporation for its cleanliness and beautification.
02:27In total, the people of Delhi were asking for only 20,000 crore rupees, which is only 10% of our taxes.
02:38This time, the union budget of the central government is of 48 lakh crore rupees.
02:48So, the 20,000 crore demand of Delhi is only 0.4% of the union budget.
02:58But despite this, the central government did not give a single rupee of share in taxes,
03:06and the Delhi Municipal Corporation did not get a single rupee.
