It's been seven years since she stepped into the world of cinema and has tasted success with her work in “Qala” and “Animal” to name a few. However, there was a time when National crush Triptii Dimri did not take herself “so seriously as an actor”. Triptii made her debut with “Poster Boyz” in 2017 after which she featured in much talked about projects such as “Laila Majnu”, “Bulbbul”, “Qala” and “Animal”, which helped her earning the title of “National crush”. Talking about her seven year journey in Hindi cinema, Triptii told IANS: “It’s been very exciting. When I started off I did not know that I would be working with such great actors and directors because I never took myself so seriously as an actor earlier.” She left everything to fate after working in her debut film. “I thought ‘chalo, ek film mil gaya. Let’s see if I get the other one or not but luckily stars were in my favour and I landed in ‘Lalia Majnu’ audition,” said the actress, who hails from Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The 30-year-old star said that she did not know what acting was. “I never took acting classes. I had no concept of good, bad or overacting. So, I think after the first schedule of ‘Laila Majnu’ wrapped I enrolled for acting classes and that’s when I understood the world…”

00:00It's been very, very exciting, I would say.
00:08When I started off, I never thought that I would, you know, one day be working with such
00:13great actors and such great directors because I never took myself serious as an actor earlier.
00:19I thought, okay, let's see if I get the other one or not.
00:23But luckily, the stars were in my favor and I landed up at Laila Majnu's audition.
00:31I was not there to audition, but the casting director found me and he said, you look Kashmiri,
00:36so you should audition for it.
00:37And that's how I got Laila Majnu.
00:39That's when I, you know, thought that maybe there is something for me here and I should
00:43take it seriously.
00:44Until then, I didn't know acting, like, I'd never taken acting classes, I had no concept
00:50of good acting or bad acting or overacting, nothing.
00:54So that's, I think, after the first year of Laila Majnu wrapped, I enrolled for acting
00:59classes and that's when I understood the world.
01:02That's when I was like, okay, this is something that I'm having fun and I'm really, really
01:06grateful for wherever, you know, God has taken me and I've met a lot of lovely people, met
01:12a lot of people who I've learned a lot from and I think it's been a very, very exciting
01:17and overwhelming journey.
01:18And the kind of love that I get today from fans of Kala, Bulbul, Laila Majnu, Animal,
01:25it's just, it makes you feel good.
01:28It is something that you work hard for, right?
01:31You crave this.
01:32Whenever you're starting a project, you want people to associate with the characters you're
01:36playing and when that happens, it makes me feel really good.
