Today here in Mumbai an interview was held with the star cast of the upcoming Karan Johar’s Film 'Gippi'. The film is coming-of-age story directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Karan Johar. The star cast of the film comprising Riya Vij, Divya Dutta, and Taaha Shah were present at the media interaction. Riya Vij 9th grade student who is making her debut with this film says acting is like 'an extra curriculum'. Studying to become a dentist, she would take up movie assignments as long as it doesn't affect her academics. Riya gets support from her family. My family is very open-minded. There were no dos and don'ts. They were as excited as me because it was a new thing. They were supportive.She talked about her favorite stars with whom she wants to work. She promptly replied Big B and Kareena Kapoor. I never thought of being a part of a Karan Johar film before, but like every other child I always dreamt of being as pretty as Kareena Kapoor and as tall as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan” said the chubby bundle of joy ,Gippi as she considers herself lucky to work with KJO. She also reveals that she is not a hardcore bollywood fan. Divya Dutta who is portraying the mom’s character in the film says that she thoroughly enjoyed to play the character and wonders why actors reluctant to play parents role. Here to be noted that there was a buzz Mona Singh had been signed on to play the role of Gippi’s mother in the movie. Later she backed out as she did not want to play a mommy-role so early in her career. Tahaa Shah â€" the dashing young actor who has had illustrious brushes with fame as he debuted in last year’s Yash Raj films‘ teeny-bopper flick Luv Ka The End is all set for his next film Gippy. Talking about this role, he said “It’s a very sweet film about a fifteen year old girl called Gippy and how she falls in love with the hunk in her school. I of course play the hunk!” He is glad for his co actor Shradhha Kapoor in Luv Ka The End as her recent release Aashiqui 2 has done a good job in boxoffice. Produced by Dharma Productions and directed by first time director Sonam Nair, 'Gippi', the story of a teenage girl and how she tackles changes in her life, is slated for a May 10 release.
