00:00I do want to ask you about that because I've spoken to a Democrat, I've spoken to Republicans,
00:06and both have questions of how did this happen?
00:09What questions do you have?
00:11How does a shooter get within a chip shot 150 yards away from almost killing President
00:18Trump?
00:19That is absurd.
00:20There was a clear, there's a clear lack in leadership there.
00:24There was a clear failure there.
00:26And while I absolutely applaud the Secret Service men and women that did do their jobs,
00:31something went awry here.
00:33And we've got to fix this for the future.
00:35We have to get to the bottom of this so that never happens again.
00:38I know this issue is going to be brought up with Jim Jordan on the Judiciary Committee
00:43that I'm currently serving on.
00:45Overtime is going to take this too.
00:46And again, we have to get this right as soon as possible.
00:50As we've been talking about, this was on Saturday, the first assassination attempt against a
00:54four or a presidential candidate since 1981.
00:59That happened less than 48 hours before the first day of the RNC.
01:03So how has the tenor of the RNC changed?
01:07And what is the mood like in Milwaukee?
01:08Well, everything's changed and the mood here, again, it's a mood.
01:13It's a mood of unity.
01:15And when President Trump walked out on that first day, it was absolutely electric.
01:20We are following our leader in the battle to save the very soul of this nation.
01:26And every single person here that I have spoken to is on the same page.
01:29This is my first convention, but I've watched it over on TV for years.
01:34And I got to tell you, this is the first time I've seen unity like this in our party in
01:38a very long time.
01:39I also want to say this, even before the shooting, President Trump has outraised Joe Biden.
01:45He had, probably way more now, an $85 million advantage over a Democrat.
01:50We have not seen that in generations.
01:53So to give you an idea of how not just really us, but the country, is coalescing around
01:58President Trump, it's a beautiful thing to see.
02:00I think it's going to translate very well in November.
