00:00Don't die with them.
00:06Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the wildest, most shocking
00:11moments from the first four seasons of The Boys.
00:14We won't be including moments from its spin-offs, Diabolical or Gen V, but we've already made
00:19lists for those.
00:20Obviously, there will be spoilers ahead.
00:23What have you done?
00:26Scorched Earth.
00:28Kimiko's death.
00:30The great thing about The Boys is that it always manages to keep us on our toes, especially
00:35when it comes to revealing power sets.
00:37One character who's always been more or less a mystery is Kimiko, but we learned of a crucial
00:43aspect of her skill set in this scene.
00:45After Frenchie mercifully releases Kimiko, at that point nameless, in order to save her
00:50life, he's confronted by Black Noir in an alleyway.
00:54Frenchie, virtually defenseless against the soup, Kimiko returns the favor by intervening.
00:59The fight doesn't last too long, however, as Noir completely eviscerates Kimiko.
01:05We were already shocked thinking we'd lose a character we hardly knew, but were shocked
01:13even further when she began to self-heal.
01:15You are my miracle.
01:23The Deep rescues a dolphin.
01:26Like his fellow so-called superheroes, The Deep causes more problems than he solves.
01:32Even when doing what he considers a noble deed, this aquatic soup manages to botch
01:36things up.
01:37Breaking a dolphin out of ocean land, The Deep promises to show the sea creature some
01:42blowhole action.
01:50Believe it or not, seeing a human flirt with a dolphin isn't even the craziest part of
01:54the scene.
01:55When the gateway van is cut off by the cops, The Deep slams on the brakes.
02:00He unfortunately didn't do the best job at securing the dolphin, as it's sent flying
02:05through the windshield and onto the street, where it's run over by a truck.
02:16The inclusion of wannabe by the Spice Girls only adds to the madness.
02:23In Season 2, while trying to find new members for The Seven, Ashley brings in Blindspot
02:28to showcase his talents and to help with the group's public image.
02:31An obvious parody of Marvel's Daredevil, the minor hero thinks he's doing well, even getting
02:36some praise from Homelander.
02:37Of course, the villain quickly bashes Blindspot's ears in, essentially taking away his abilities.
02:46In typical Homelander fashion, he then showcases his contempt for those with disabilities before
02:50berating poor Ashley.
02:53Homelander has obviously done a lot of horrific things to a lot of different people, but his
02:56swift callousness here was undeniably shocking.
03:07Though the first two seasons of The Boys only came out in a pair of back-to-back years,
03:26the show has managed to stay shrewdly relevant with the climate of real-life superhero movies.
03:32We always knew we'd never get to see the entirety of Dawn of the Seven, the title being
03:36a play on a very particular DC film, but the snippets we did get in Season 2 are flabbergastingly
03:42hilarious.
03:43Vought's cinematic attempts to spin Maeve off as an inspirational lesbian, even though
04:02that's not entirely accurate, hilariously criticizes some of the corporate decisions
04:06that go into these movies as she's still denied an on-screen kiss.
04:10Then A-Train's contrived retirement from The Seven exemplifies the puppetry that's happening
04:15behind the scenes.
04:24A Season 3 episode showed the danger of giving compound V to animals, but in Season 4, a
04:39farm trip turned to disaster with a whole host of them.
04:42The adventure reached peak insanity when the group was confronted by a super-powered bull,
04:46giving everyone anxiety about what it might do.
04:49However, that's when an unexpected threat reared its ugly head.
04:58A herd of vicious flying sheep descended upon them, feeding on the bull in addition to an
05:03unlucky member of Victoria Newman's security detail.
05:06The boys and their temporary allies could only run and hide in fear, but this type of
05:12absurd violence that can only make you mutter WTF is what the show does best.
05:2425.
05:25Lamplighter's Tastes
05:26We've gotten plenty of satirical takes on the superhero genre, but few that are as willing
05:32to address the more adult implications of Supes inhabiting the real world as the boys.
05:38Actually, adult is the perfect word to use when describing this scene, as Lamplighter's
05:43unabashed sexual proclivities make for some hilariously awkward humor.
05:51When Hughie is assigned to keep an eye on Lamplighter, he's unwittingly forced to keep
05:55an eye on Lamplighter's viewing material as well, namely his collection of the seven-themed
06:01adult film parodies.
06:03We are not the least bit surprised that the world has taken to the seven-so, but watching
06:08it definitely makes us cringe, though maybe not as much as Hughie.
06:1424.
06:15Zoe Shows Her Powers
06:17In Season 3, Victoria Newman injected her own daughter with Compound V.
06:21We had to wait a while to see what powers she would have, and they came as a major surprise
06:25in the Season 4 opener.
06:26While snooping around her mother's hotel room, Frenchie and Kimiko got a front-row seat to
06:30a bloodbath.
06:37With four tendril-like mouths protruding from her regular one, Zoe wasted no time tearing
06:42apart a couple of CIA agents.
06:44We don't know what we were expecting, but definitely not something as visceral and disturbing
06:49as that.
06:50The insanity of her power was only matched by her lack of remorse when ripping through
06:54everything in her path.
06:5823.
07:01The Deep Eats Timothy
07:03The Deep has frequently been shown to have disturbing sexual relationships with his aquatic
07:07companions.
07:08One of these was an octopus named Timothy.
07:11But even more shocking than their affair is what happened to Timothy after Homelander
07:14found out about him.
07:16The Deep is presented with Timothy as his meal, fully alive and told to eat him.
07:22Try as he might to protest, Homelander forces him to eat his friend.
07:26It doesn't matter that the octopus is CGI, Timothy's prayers as he's being devoured
07:36and the pained look on The Deep's face as he does so will certainly stick with you.
07:40It's never good seeing the lengths to which The Deep will go to keep Homelander happy.
07:4822.
07:51Ramming the Whale
07:53Honestly, The Deep's lack of foresight when it comes to the well-being of aquatic creatures
07:56will never not be funny.
07:58And gross, apparently.
08:00After a run-in with a police helicopter, the boys find themselves fleeing in a speedboat
08:04from a school of angry sharks.
08:06Naturally, The Deep isn't far behind and surfaces gloriously riding a whale.
08:22He parks the massive mammal along the shoreline, thinking it'll prevent the boys from beaching.
08:27He clearly underestimates the tenacity of Billy Butcher, however, who instead accelerates
08:32and sends the vessel straight through.
08:41Just when you think the boys can't get any gnarlier, they end up on the inside of a punctured
08:47whale.
08:4821.
08:49A-Train Kills Popclaw
08:51Of all the deeply troubled supes on the show, and there are a lot, few get done quite as
08:58dirty as Popclaw.
08:59She wants to take public her relationship with A-Train, but he remains reticent to get
09:04Vought's permission, more worried about his image.
09:12As toxic as their relationship was, even we didn't think it would end like this.
09:17After the boys blackmail Popclaw into revealing secrets of Compound V, A-Train tricks her
09:22into revealing their identities.
09:24Thinking they can finally be out in the open once she does, Popclaw is horrified to see
09:29A-Train swiftly inject her with an overdose of heroin.
09:43This is the ultimate betrayal by the person she loves most, and it hurts every time we
09:48watch it.
09:4920.
09:50Homelander Goes Home
09:52Previous seasons have given some insight into Homelander's upbringing, essentially as a
09:56lab rat for Vought.
09:58This season 4 episode took viewers to where he grew up, and it was definitely not a pleasant
10:02trip down memory lane.
10:03He may have arrived with a smile on his face and cake in his hand, but Homelander spent
10:07the whole episode tormenting those who caused him so much pain as a child.
10:20Perhaps the most WTF-worthy moment was when he forced one employee to pleasure himself
10:24in front of the others, laughing maniacally in retaliation for an experience he endured
10:29while young.
10:30As the visit reached its end, we knew most of them wouldn't make it out alive, which
10:34is just what happened.
10:4019.
10:42The Deep's Hook-Up
10:43Following Starlight's televised confession, it isn't long until everyone learns of The
10:48Deep's sexual indiscretions.
10:51Starlight wasn't the first either, requiring The Deep to take a sabbatical from The Seven.
10:55Bringing a woman back to his Ohio apartment, The Deep is given an idea of how horrible
11:00he made Starlight feel.
11:09The Deep's hook-up is less interested in his sex organs and more eager to see his respiratory
11:15organs.
11:16Although he's insecure about taking his shirt off, The Deep complies and reveals his gills.
11:28Giggling, the woman treats him like a circus freak, but that doesn't mean she's not still
11:32interested.
11:33On the contrary, she enjoys herself a little too much, leaving us feeling deeply disturbed.
11:3918.
11:40Black Noir's Weakness
11:42Almost every soup has a weakness, be it external or internal.
11:46But even we never imagined one would be as hilariously mundane as this.
11:58After escaping from her holding cell, Starlight, too, finds herself confronted by Black Noir.
12:02At first, it seems like the Master Ninja is going to make quick work of her, throwing
12:06her around the conference room.
12:08Yet she's saved at the last minute by Queen Maeve.
12:11Though we would have loved to have seen an all-out fight between these members of The
12:15Seven, Maeve ends things immediately by popping an Almond Joy into Noir's mouth.
12:20Yeah, an Almond Joy.
12:27This sends Noir into anaphylactic shock, as something so minute proves to be such an intimidating
12:34character's kryptonite.
12:3617.
12:37Lamplighter's Death
12:38Sudden deaths are not scarce on the boys, and yet the show still manages to get us every
12:43time.
12:46Season 2 introduced a lot of memorable characters, but perhaps none so much as former member
13:05of The Seven, Lamplighter.
13:07Played to perfection by Sean Ashmore, Lamplighter unfortunately has a short lifespan on the
13:13show.
13:14But he meets his end by his own lamp, so to speak.
13:29On a mission with Huey to rescue Starlight from Vought headquarters, Lamplighter reveals
13:33he has an alternate motive all his own.
13:36After being disappointed they removed his statue, Lamplighter sets himself ablaze, much
13:41to both our and Huey's shock.
13:49This inadvertently sets Starlight free, as Lamplighter then posthumously gives Huey another
13:54hand.
13:55Literally.
13:5616.
13:57The Hospital Sequence
13:58After his father suffered a stroke, Huey struggled with the idea of saving him with Compound V.
14:03It was his long-absent mother who administered it, however, and the consequences were devastating.
14:09It did pull Huey Sr. out of his coma, but gave him the ability to phase through physical
14:13objects.
14:14Sadly, paired with his damaged mind, that led to him accidentally using it on several
14:19other patients.
14:21Not only were the results incredibly violent, but also unbelievably sad.
14:38His mind got stuck in the past, causing him to angrily pursue Huey's mother for leaving
14:42him so many years ago.
14:44While Huey was able to calm him down and end his suffering, it was one of the sadder things
14:48to happen to the character.
14:5415.
15:02Popclaw Kills Her Landlord
15:05If you're gonna get kinky with a soup, you might want to consider bringing protection.
15:09As in, the kind that could save your life.
15:21Heartbroken over A-Train and supercharged on Compound V, Popclaw seduces her landlord
15:26to get out of paying rent.
15:28The fantasy gets too real, however, as Popclaw loses control.
15:33She goes from suffocating the man to accidentally cracking his head wide open.
15:46Popclaw is so caught up in the heat of the moment that it takes a second for her to even
15:50notice what she's done.
15:52This has gotta be the most gruesome endorsement for safe sex we've ever seen.
15:5714.
15:58Translucent's Death
15:59How do you restrain an invisible man who's virtually invincible?
16:03Well, shoving some C4 up his colon will likely keep him in check.
16:19When Butcher and Frenchie step out, Translucent seizes his opportunity to escape with only
16:24the timid Huey standing in his way.
16:26Huey isn't sure if he's ready to make the leap from kidnapping to murder, which
16:30Translucent uses to his advantage.
16:32While he nearly talks him into stepping aside, Huey decides that he's done keeping his
16:37hands clean and presses the detonator.
16:46Translucent may be invisible, but his insides are on full display as they splash onto Huey.
16:53Because he's one of the more stable characters on the show, seeing him get blood on his hands
16:58was shocking in more ways than one.
17:0113.
17:02Huey's Undercover Mission
17:03Poor Huey just can't catch a break.
17:05The episode immediately following his father's death, he agreed to an undercover mission.
17:10While pretending to be the minor hero Webweaver, he attended a gathering at the house of superpowered
17:15detective Tech Knight.
17:17Unfortunately for him, the correspondence between the two was erotic, and rather explicitly
17:22at that.
17:29Trying to keep his cover, he was subjected to strange sexual acts by Knight and Ashley,
17:34who said some extremely disturbing things throughout the ordeal.
17:38He was still unmasked in the end, and would've died if not for Annie and Kimiko.
17:42The scene made many viewers uncomfortable, with some saying it downplayed the severity
17:47of sexual assault against men.
17:5212.
17:55Mommy Issues
17:56Homelander commands every room he enters, but Madeline Stilwell is the one person who
18:16can make him weaken the knees.
18:18When Homelander isn't trying to win his boss's approval, he's watching her pump breast milk
18:23through a wall.
18:24Although their relationship isn't exactly platonic, Stilwell treats her star superhero
18:29like a devious little boy who needs to be kept in line.
18:32She thus serves as both a lover and a maternal figure for Homelander, which is all kinds
18:37of gross.
18:41Homelander's Oedipus complex reaches the pinnacle of creepy even after she's dead,
18:46when he uses Doppelganger to restore his fantasies.
19:0011.
19:01Laser Baby
19:02We all know where babies come from, but Butcher and Milk are both shocked to learn where super
19:06babies come from while infiltrating a Vought facility.
19:16When the guards catch them trespassing, Butcher decides that they need to upgrade from a puny
19:21handgun to a baby blaster.
19:23This baby is packing more than a dirty diaper, as Butcher uses the newborn's laser vision
19:28to blow the guards away.
19:39The image of a baby discharging lethal beams of light from his eyes is both hilarious and
19:45alarming.
19:46What's especially jarring is just how quickly the situation escalates, with one guard losing
19:51his head entirely.
19:54Man, and we thought Jack-Jack from The Incredibles was a destructive little tyke.
20:0210.
20:03Superhero Bar
20:04The first episode made sure to really set the tone for what the rest of the show had
20:08in store for us.
20:10Our greatest peek behind the curtain comes when Billy Butcher recruits Huey to the cause.
20:15With Huey full of indignation towards Supes and A-Train in particular, for reasons we'll
20:19get to very shortly, Butcher takes him to an underground soup bar to retrieve some damning
20:24footage of A-Train in an effort to incentivize him.
20:28But our big takeaway from the scene is seeing the sexual shenanigans the various Supes partake
20:33in when not under media scrutiny.
20:45From some levitating sex to a tiny soup, um, exploring, the writers show exactly how Supes
20:52might pervert their powers.
20:549.
20:55Talking Gills
20:56Just when you think the boys can't get any weirder, a couple of scenes like these come
21:00along.
21:10The Deep is definitely reeling following his forced sabbatical from the Seven, and his
21:15emotions find a very bizarre outlet when he gets high on psychedelics.
21:19Though his conscious mind doesn't want to hear it, his gills, voiced by Patton Oswalt,
21:24remind him of his bodily insecurities and how it leads him to mistreat women.
21:39It's honestly profound stuff, and a lesson the Deep would be wise to let sink in.
21:44No pun intended.
21:46But even he finds himself put off by the experience.
21:49Again, just when things can't get any weirder, he finds some catharsis as the two break out
21:54into a duet of You Are So Beautiful.
22:088.
22:11Robin's Death
22:12If The Boys demonstrates anything, it's that freak accidents would be a lot more common
22:17in a world of super-powered people.
22:20Shortly after being introduced to Huey and Robin, the latter is suddenly run over by
22:24speedster A-Train.
22:26Although it happens in the blink of an eye, the action is slowed down for us to see Robin's
22:31awful fate.
22:37This is only a minor inconvenience for A-Train, who just keeps running as if he stepped in
22:42mud.
22:43From this moment on, it becomes clear that The Boys is not gonna be your dad's superhero
22:48show.
22:507.
22:51Homelander Kills Madeline
22:53Believing Homelander is responsible for his wife's death, Billy Butcher dedicates his
22:57life to revenge.
22:59It appears Butcher may finally get even when he takes Stilwell hostage and threatens to
23:04blow her up in front of Homelander.
23:06As it turns out, though, Homelander is tired of Stilwell's deception and burns two holes
23:11through her head.
23:19Of course, this doesn't stop Butcher from hitting the switch anyway.
23:32We go from one WTF moment to another as Butcher survives the blast.
23:37Homelander has taken him to a suburban neighborhood, where Butcher learns that his wife is still
23:42alive.
23:43Not only that, but her assault by Homelander years ago resulted in a pregnancy.
23:48Vought's been hiding Becca and her super-powered son from Homelander, but now, Daddy's home.
24:006.
24:01Stormfront's Identity Revealed
24:04Viewers went on quite the rollercoaster with incoming character Stormfront in Season 2,
24:08going from admiring her straightforward attitude, to cringing at her freaky fling with Homelander,
24:15to hating her for being a literal Nazi.
24:22In a shocking reveal, Stormfront reveals to Homelander that she's a whopping 101 years
24:28old, with super longevity being another of her abilities.
24:32Not only that, but she was the wife of Vought founder and creator of Compound V, Frederick
24:37Vought.
24:38She was the first patient to successfully absorb the compound.
24:46As if this information isn't shocking enough, her and Frederick's past ideologies come to
24:50the surface, as Stormfront chillingly recruits Homelander into the worst war imaginable.
25:05So I love you with all of my heart.
25:085.
25:09Butcher Gives In To Kessler
25:10But, we are gonna turn that frown upside down, my friend, you know why?
25:17Because you still have me.
25:20Towards the end of Season 4, Butcher struggled with the fact that the friend he had been
25:24speaking to, Joe Kessler, was imaginary.
25:27Not only that, but he encouraged Butcher to act on his most vile instincts, being a representative
25:33of the V coursing through his body.
25:35In the finale, this relationship reached its most brutal point.
25:39After seeing Ryan kill Grace, Butcher began listening to Kessler, and confronted the boys
25:44after they made an agreement with Victoria Newman.
25:46Their arrangement could've worked out, but Butcher and Kessler were having none of it.
25:55After showing up at the hideout, Butcher unveiled his tentacle-based abilities, grabbing Newman
26:00and tearing her in two in front of everyone.
26:03It was a vicious, shocking end to the character.
26:07If I were you, love, I wouldn't hang about.
26:124.
26:13Searching For Termite
26:14There's a whole lot of this sequence we cannot show, but trust us when we say it deserves
26:19its inclusion.
26:21The first episode of Season 3 sees the boys tracking Termite, a sup with the ability to
26:26shrink down in size.
26:28Before they find him, however, Termite rendezvous with his boyfriend-slash-drug-dealer, Peter.
26:33He then shrinks down in size and enters Peter's, ahem, member, which apparently feels great.
26:39That is, until Termite sneezes, accidentally enlarges, and explodes out of Peter's lower
26:44half.
26:45Over-the-top sexual immediately-into-brutal violence made this one of the most memorable
26:50WTF moments of the whole show.
26:533.
26:56Congress Loses Their Heads
26:58There are some terrifying supes operating in the world of the boys, but one that can
27:03make someone's head explode is especially so.
27:13Director Rayner's sudden demise definitely had us shaken, but even we couldn't have
27:17been prepared for what came later on.
27:19After Butcher's able to threaten former Vought scientist Jonah Vogelbaum into testifying
27:23against them before Congress, it looks like the boys are finally gonna get a win.
27:28But before Vogelbaum can, his head and those of several others start popping like balloons.
27:39Even in the moment we didn't know what to make of it, but the reveal in the season finale
27:43that it was the work of secret supe, Congresswoman Newman, had us dying for Season 3.
27:502.
27:51Homelander Lets The Plane Crash
27:52When the mayor of Baltimore tries to blackmail Stilwell, Homelander blows up his plane, giving
27:57us our first glimpse of just how corrupt America's Golden Boy is.
28:01Although the mayor's son and other innocents are on board, they're collateral damage in
28:06Homelander's eyes.
28:19Homelander shows even less regard for human life when another plane is hijacked.
28:23Maeve and Homelander stop the terrorists, but the pilot is killed and the plane is left
28:27beyond repair.
28:39Although Maeve lists off several ways they could potentially save at least a few passengers,
28:44Homelander nonchalantly writes off the mission as a lost cause.
28:47He won't even fly the children to safety and threatens those who beg for his help.
28:52While Maeve grieves, Homelander merely acts like an anthill got squashed.

29:24Number 1 – HeroGasm
29:26Promo videos warned viewers that HeroGasm would be the most deranged and depraved episode
29:32of The Boys they had ever seen.
29:34And yet we were still unprepared.
29:36The latter half sees members of the team attend a sex party, where heroes use their abilities
29:41in all manner of ways, making us all kinds of uncomfortable.
29:45Most scenes during the event are stunning, and we don't mean that in a good way.
29:52The ridiculousness of the whole situation is brought to a screeching halt, however,
29:56when Soldier Boy arrives looking for Homelander.
29:58His explosive power and the ensuing confrontation leave many of the party's attendees brutally
30:03disposed of.
30:04And it's the closest anyone had ever come to finally taking Homelander down.
