00:00 "The gill is showing. Cover it up. It's disgusting."
00:05 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're highlighting the most baffling abilities,
00:09 surprising talents, and oddest soups seen on all the boys' shows.
00:13 We'll exclude a male character that has a certain anatomical quirk so this video can stay on YouTube,
00:20 but we will include minor spoilers.
00:22 "Compound V, like on the news, it gives you superpowers."
00:28 Number 10. Laser Baby.
00:30 "Oh my god."
00:31 "Jesus."
00:36 While snooping around a private Vought facility, Butcher finds a baby who's been given Compound V.
00:43 He quickly discovers the infant can shoot high-powered lasers from their eyes.
00:47 Seeing Butcher borrow the kids' abilities was hilarious.
00:51 "You done good, lad."
00:52 "I'm not sure it's time to go."
00:55 And just in case fans couldn't get enough,
00:58 there was an entire episode dedicated to a Laser Baby on the animated spin-off.
01:02 In both mediums, seeing a small and cute child wield dangerous weapons left us stunned and surprised.
01:09 We just hope that any lucky parents of a Laser Baby
01:12 find a way to keep their infant from destroying whatever they see.
01:14 Number 9. Acid Spit.
01:20 There were more than a few soups with odd powers that resided in the Sage Grove Center.
01:24 "You do realize there's a whole army of soups on the other side of that door
01:27 that want to tear you apart, right?"
01:29 However, the strangest one of them all had acidic powers.
01:32 "No, I spit acidic vomit."
01:34 "Oh. You want me to demonstrate?"
01:36 "No, we'll take your word for it."
01:38 The unnamed man possessed the ability to produce a deadly and melt-inducing substance from his mouth.
01:43 While that might just sound a little odd on the surface,
01:46 his powers' huge drawback pushed him over the edge.
01:50 It turns out the man wasn't immune to his own acid.
01:53 When Kimiko fought him, he suffered fatal facial burns from his own ability.
01:58 Other people with acid powers typically don't share that same weakness.
02:01 It's extremely unfortunate that his already disgusting power
02:05 couldn't be as useful as it was for people in other mediums.
02:08 Number 8. Paper Manipulation.
02:17 "That's right, my name is Papers. I wasn't introduced in the beginning,
02:20 but because they think maybe I'm not that important."
02:22 During an episode of 'The Boys Diabolical',
02:24 a group of Supes with unideal powers find themselves needing to uncover crucial documents.
02:30 But they can't just rely on their skills alone.
02:33 When push comes to shove, the Supes call on a Supe that can manipulate papers.
02:37 His super heroic ability allows him to move around documents and that seems to be it.
02:43 The Papers Man lacks the ability to find anything specific.
02:46 "I'm noticing I might have a bit of a weak spot in understanding what's on what paper."
02:51 And it's unclear if he can even wield documents as weapons.
02:54 Honestly, a regular person that's really good at origami is more useful than this papered Supe.
03:00 "Yeah, we learned origami."
03:02 "Don't even ask Mike the Mailman if he's really good at it,
03:04 'cause what does that have to do with anything?"
03:06 Number 7. Having a Rat Tail.
03:08 The fact that God you student Harper has a rat tail is often played as a quick visual gag.
03:13 "What if you lick your tail?"
03:15 "Lick my tail?"
03:17 But the more we thought about it, the more bizarre it became.
03:21 For anyone who hasn't studied rat anatomy,
03:23 the tails are actually good for two major rodent body functions.
03:27 They help keep balance when the animals are on all fours.
03:30 "Speed."
03:31 "Very good."
03:32 "Rope up."
03:34 That particular function becomes a little less useful
03:38 if you're standing on two legs like Harper does.
03:40 As a second benefit, the tail helps rats let out excess heat due to their fur.
03:45 That's another function that has little benefit for the noticeably unfurry Harper.
03:50 Maybe Master Splinter can give the God you student
03:52 lessons on how to make her tail into a useful superpower.
03:55 "Giant rat, one. New guy, zero."
04:06 Number 6. Naked Teleportation.
04:08 Although the non-powered Huey has been an invaluable member of the boys from the beginning,
04:13 he found himself wanting to do more.
04:15 After taking some experimental compound V,
04:18 he gained the ability to teleport at will.
04:21 "You're probably gonna be mad, but I promised no more secrets, right? So..."
04:25 "Oh my God. Huey."
04:32 But Huey's power noticeably doesn't let him bring his clothes along for the ride.
04:37 As useful as teleportation is as an ability,
04:40 the instant nudity often left him scrambling for clothes
04:43 or at the center of awkward situations.
04:46 And anyone who hitches a ride leaves their threads behind too.
04:49 Since Huey swore off compound V as of season 3,
04:54 his days of naked jumps seem to be over.
04:57 He's fortunate that he isn't stuck with a power that requires him to bear all just to work.
05:01 "You're better than this, kid."
05:02 "Butcher, I'm... Look, I'm sorry, okay?"
05:10 Number 5. Regenerating Limbs.
05:12 "I'm a lab rat. They cut off my limbs and they grow back. I can't get you."
05:16 Several characters on The Boys have shown the ability
05:20 to regenerate parts of their body at will.
05:22 But no one makes it quite as weird as Gecko.
05:26 After discovering that any of his limbs would come back extremely quickly from damage,
05:30 he turned it into a very disturbing side hustle.
05:33 While we can't get into details here,
05:36 trust us when we say the process seems to be a bit painful for Gecko.
05:39 "Oh, it is? Don't want to get stuck with the cleaning bill."
05:43 This odd duck could have become a Deadpool-esque hero
05:46 who charges into battle with no concerns of injury.
05:49 However, Gecko's choice to harness his abilities just to provide cheap thrills
05:53 made him a certifiably strange soup.
05:56 "So what's your poison? You're the leg guy?"
05:58 "Uh, arm please, actually."
06:02 Number 4. Breathing Through Gills.
06:05 "Bro, we gotta talk."
06:07 "No, you gotta look it up."
06:09 When we first met The Deep, we wrote him off as a bargain bin Aquaman.
06:13 Both characters had enhanced strength,
06:15 could communicate with marine life and breathe underwater.
06:18 But we soon discovered there was one major difference between the two.
06:22 While Aquaman can breathe underwater with his human anatomy,
06:26 The Deep needs a set of gills to do the same.
06:29 Unfortunately for The Boys' character,
06:31 his organs are extremely vulnerable to damage.
06:34 "Can we just, uh, be gentle?"
06:37 This means that any opponent aiming for the gills
06:40 could easily take him out of a fight.
06:42 And unless The Deep is in a hallucinatory state
06:45 where he imagines his organs are singing,
06:47 they serve almost no purpose on land.
06:50 The benefits of having gills definitely don't outweigh the drawbacks.
06:54 "You are so beautiful."
06:59 Number 3. Slow Motion Movement.
07:02 "Exhibit A, slow motion."
07:03 "Probably pisses pants before he ever reaches the bathroom."
07:06 Most of the teenage Supes with rough powers
07:10 learned how to use their abilities in useful ways.
07:13 However, we're still struggling to find any practical use for Moslow's powers.
07:18 His abilities make it so that he can't do anything quickly.
07:21 And since Moslow can't force anybody else but himself to move slowly,
07:25 the power can't even hinder an opponent's movement.
07:27 "I'm...
07:30 "I'm...
07:34 "Killing..."
07:39 It's clear that this character was made as a parody of the fast heroes
07:43 that perceive things in slow motion.
07:45 Unfortunately, he only has a singular speed.
07:49 While Moslow will definitely look cool in any dramatic slow motion hero montages,
07:54 his power doesn't allow him many options for hero work.
07:57 "Oi, how much longer you reckon this is gonna take?"
07:58 "It doesn't look like it's gonna take!"
08:00 "Why did I ask you?"
08:02 Number 2. Blood Control
08:03 "I think there's something there."
08:05 Not every weird power is all bad.
08:13 Just ask Marie Moreau.
08:15 When she first gained her blood-related powers,
08:18 she tragically ended up giving her parents fatal wounds.
08:21 But Marie soon learned that she was capable of a lot more.
08:24 When a woman was in danger of bleeding out,
08:27 the Supe was able to reverse the blood flow and save a life.
08:30 "She's alive.
08:31 She's alive."
08:35 Marie can also use her abilities to sense abnormalities
08:39 like trackers inside of people's bodies.
08:42 And while we can't show it here,
08:44 she can also use her blood as an offensive weapon.
08:47 Although Marie's ability probably won't be depicted on any lunchboxes anytime soon,
08:51 her offbeat skills may make her a top-tier heroine one day.
08:55 "Those blood powers of yours, they're a non-starter in middle America.
08:58 There's no four-quadrant appeal there."
09:00 "You're wrong."

09:16 Number 1. Godlike Control Over Waste
09:21 "This can't be happening. This actually can't be happening."
09:25 Shortly after consuming Compound V,
09:27 Skye discovers that she's gained an extremely gross ability.
09:31 She can make sentient human waste that is capable of independent thought and movement.
09:36 After producing one of these creatures,
09:38 Skye can sense where it is and find it anywhere.
09:41 "It's like we're... connected."
09:43 "Ariola?"
09:50 She can also grant sentience to other waste
09:52 and even give them extra abilities like flight.
09:55 We were honestly surprised that this highly unsanitary power had so much versatility.
10:01 During Skye's debut episode, she even makes the deep retreat.
10:05 But no matter how useful this ability is,
10:07 there is no denying it is far and away one of the weirdest powers dreamt up in any boy's reality.
10:13 "Do you have super powers of any kind? Because I certainly didn't get any."
10:17 Did we miss a weird superpower from the boys?
