00:00Summer has eventually returned to the UK bringing dry warm and sunny weather to
00:05England and Wales on Thursday and Friday. Feeling very warm and locally hot too
00:10with highs possibly climbing to around 30 degrees Celsius for the far southeast.
00:14Feeling quite warm and muggy overnight too with overnight lows only dropping to
00:18around 15 degrees Celsius. This may be fairly uncomfortable for some of us to
00:22sleep in. Now we're having this taste of summer because the jet stream is
00:26eventually in our favour and it's currently positioned to the north of the
00:29UK with some high pressure out to the east. This is therefore dragging some
00:33warm humid air from across the continent and bringing with it some summery days
00:37to England and Wales. In typical British summertime fashion though low pressure
00:43is not too far away and it's currently located to the northwest of the UK. This
00:47is therefore bringing some more cloud and patchy outbreaks of rain to western
00:51areas of Scotland and western regions of Northern Ireland. On Saturday though a
00:56band of heavy rain will sweep eastwards across the whole of the country bringing
01:01some quite heavy and possibly thundery downpours. It'll also bring with it a
01:05fresher feel to many areas but the far southeast may cling on to that warmth.
