00:00A lot of great pleasure in giving this to you.
00:31Today's program is brought to you in part by Castrol Motor Oil.
00:36Engineered for today's smaller cars.
00:39Hi everyone and welcome back to WGN's WCW Pro Chicago.
00:44Tony Schiavone and Larry Zabisco.
00:48I really do, Larry. I really do. It really looks baseball-y.
00:53We have on our program this week Sting and 7'7", it's the big guy, El Higante.
00:59You know, right here in Larry Z's Legend, Schiavone, I got the biggest man in world championship wrestling today.
01:05And I'm talking about Sid Vicious.
01:08The man who says he rules the world.
01:10He rules the world, obviously.
01:12I'm here in my spud head disguise.
01:14This way I can walk around and no one will recognize me.
01:17Because this is Chicago, the home of the Cubbies.
01:20This is the place to raise your kids.
01:22This is the city to be in.
01:24And excuse me, I have to wash my mouth out with soap.
01:28Alright fans, I don't know what to say about that.
01:30But Larry will be with us in Larry Z's Legend.
01:33But right now, let's go to the ring for action.
01:35This week, right here on Channel 9.
01:38Introducing first from the Diamond Mine, Diamond Dulles Page.
01:43He presents from Bad Street, USA, and a combined weight of 499 pounds,
01:48Michael P.S. Hayes, Jimmy James Garvin, The Fabulous Rebirth.
01:58In the ring, our opponent, first from Las Vegas, Nevada, Reno Briggins.
02:02And his partner from Tampa, Florida, Jim Morehouse Parker.
02:14That's right. Diamond Dulles Page, Chairman of the Board of the Diamond Exchange.
02:19You know when you're good, you're good.
02:21And when you're B-A-double-D bad, you're better.
02:25Break it down one time.
02:27Speaking of bad, B-A-double-D bad.
02:32The man that DDP pays to make big.
02:35D-d-d-daddy big.
02:42Accompanied by one of my lovely, precious Diamond Dulles.
02:48Good God, daddy-o.
02:51Yeah, you gotta give it to them, Larry Zabisco.
02:53They certainly do make a grand entrance.
02:55Whoa, don't they ever.
02:56Well, you know, here's a little note on the free birds here.
02:59This whole thing here, can you imagine what it does psychologically to their opponents?
03:05The two guys, whether it's these two guys or even guys like the Steiners who are standing there.
03:10And here they come with the women, with Big Daddy D, Diamond Dulles Page.
03:15Psychological warfare, baby.
03:18Probably at its best, and we are looking forward to our big event.
03:23Returning right here to Chicago on Sunday, April 28th.
03:26And we're going to be telling you more about the card.
03:28We'll have some ticket information a little bit later on.
03:30Jack Brickhouse and the Brickhouse Bonus with us.
03:33And once again, another Saturday morning here on Channel 9.
03:36As we take a look at, well, don't like to say former, but they are the former World Tag Team Champions.
03:41The fabulous free birds.
03:42They held those World Tag Team belts for all of two weeks now.
03:46But we're going to be having some announcements in the weeks to come.
03:48Concerning the Steiners and, of course, the U.S.
03:52For some reason, I forgot where I was here.
03:54Oh, yeah, that's right. The Steiners and the U.S. Tag Team title.
03:58For some reason, that lady from the Diamond Mine takes your attention right off of it.
04:01So does Jack Brickhouse. He's still doing good, huh?
04:04Nothing to say, nothing about Jack Brickhouse.
04:07You're not?
04:08I just want to know who that little guy is that follows behind him with the box.
04:11We take a look at Michael PSA's against Reno Riggins and Big Daddy D down at ringside.
04:17Jimmy Jam Garvin.
04:18The free birds have been one of the top teams ever in World Championship Wrestling.
04:23And now here we go for the ride.
04:25Missing a clothesline.
04:26The foot found its mark to the throat.
04:29Oh, he didn't miss that one.
04:31Great execution by Michael PSA's.
04:34Now Jimmy Jam Garvin to the free birds.
04:36That's how to jam your neck in by Jimmy Jam right there, Tony.
04:41Garvin.
04:42Tremendous slam showing his power.
04:44We talk so much about the free birds as a team.
04:47Let's now break him down individually as great athletes because Jimmy Jam Garvin has a lot of power in that body.
04:53And there's a knee that found its mark right in the sternum.
04:59Chop.
05:00Sending Reno Riggins down and Michael PSA's.
05:03You know, Larry, you talked about the psychological advantage the free birds have.
05:06And of course, Michael strutting in the ring is just showing that he is in control.
05:10Well, he is in control.
05:11I mean, he's a Wiley Ring veteran.
05:13Like I said, both these men have been around for years.
05:15They know all the tricks of the trade.
05:17They're very flamboyant individuals in their personal life.
05:20You know, I mean, it's just how they are.
05:23So they've added it to that, you know, psychological warfare.
05:27And Jimmy Jam got one.
05:30But Reno Riggins fell towards Michael PSA's.
05:33And when your partner is on his toes like Michael Hayes was, you're right, Jimmy Jam, you got him.
05:40Picking up Reno Riggins and now on the top rope.
05:43As Nick Patrick, senior official in World Championship Wrestling, gives the warning.
05:48By the way, fans, the event is coming up in about a month or so.
05:52Sunday, April 28th, right here at the UIC Pavilion.
05:55And there's an elbow from Michael PSA's.
05:57You were going to say something, Larry.
05:59I was, but you kept talking.
06:01The referee was, you know, warning about that maneuver.
06:03And I've seen many a guy come back to the locker room unable to breathe because of swollen larynxes.
06:09Because of that maneuver.
06:11When you drop a man across that rope, across your throat, it swells up.
06:14It's almost like you could go for a tracheotomy.
06:17Very, very brutal move.
06:19He should be warned.
06:20Big Daddy Dink looks on.
06:22The road boss, so to speak, of the Fabulous Freebirds.
06:26And, of course, Big Daddy Dink is no stranger to the Warriors of World Championship Wrestling.
06:31He has been a most successful man and now teaming up with the Freebirds.
06:34I guess, as the old cliche goes, the sky's the limit.
06:37Reno Riggins got a tag.
06:38And here comes Powerhouse Parker.
06:40Into the corner.
06:41Yeah.
06:42The fans trying to get behind Tim Parker, who's a fine young athlete,
06:46and now trying to send Michael Hayes to the ride.
06:49Here we go.
06:51Wow, what a counter move.
06:53Good counter by Michael Hayes.
06:55Bulldog goes out of the blue.
06:59A tremendous sense of timing.
07:04And Michael Hayes may be ready, and he does.
07:07To put on the DDT.
07:09There should be no getting up from this one.
07:11Here's the count, and that is it.
07:13Here's Tony Gillum.
07:14The winners of the match, the Fabulous Freebirds.
07:18All right, the Freebirds decisively pick a win,
07:20and now on their way back after being World Tag Team Champions here at World Championship Wrestling
07:26with Big Daddy Dink.
07:27They are looking better than ever.
07:29Here it is once again, Larry.
07:32Well, keeping your eye on Michael Hayes here.
07:34Now, look at the way the man's got it hooked.
07:36I mean, he knows where he is at all times.
07:37Boom, DDT right in the face.
07:40And that is a real neck jammer, Tony.
07:43Fans, we saw the top of the program, Nikita Kolov and Lex Luger
07:46in what had just about transpired a wrestle war.
07:49When we come back, we'll go to the dungeon in Nikita Kolov's workout.
07:55Rolling Thunder Tour 91, Hammond, Indiana.
07:58Friday, April 26th, 8 o'clock at the Civic Center.
08:01And Rolling Thunder Tour 91 returns to UIC Pavilion, Chicago.

08:08Eight exciting matches, including the main event in a cage,
08:12Sting, an elegante clash with Rick Flair and Barry Windham.
08:16In a computer match, beautiful body takes on Terrence Taylor.
08:19World Tag Team title on the line in Chicago.
08:22The Steiners against Dan Henson and Sid Vicious.
08:25The U.S. title on the line at UIC Pavilion.
08:28Lex Luger clashing with Nikita Kolov.
08:31Drudge match, Ron Simmons against his former partner.
08:34Quick freeze, main event in a cage.
08:36Sting and elegante take on Rick Flair and Barry Windham.
08:40Plus big man Vader, big Josh, the natural Dustin Rhodes at war.
08:43Sunday, the 28th, 7.30, tickets at the Pavilion box office
08:47at all Ticketron outlets, including Sears.
08:50Yes, Rolling Thunder Tour 91, the 28th, Chicago.
08:58Oh, no, God.
09:28Ah.
09:31Unh.
09:34Unh.
09:37Unh.
09:40Unh.
09:43The following contest is set for one fall, introducing first, the United States Heavyweight
10:11Champion from Chicago, Illinois, he's the total package, Alex Luger!
10:21In the ring, his opponent, from New York City, Jumpy Joey Mags!
10:29Jumpy Joey Mags seems very confident, but I guess many people would say that the Russian
10:35Nightmare Nikita Kolov is very confident also.
10:38Now, we've just seen the workout from the dungeon, I don't think there's any question,
10:42you know as much about Nikita Kolov as anybody, Nikita Kolov is a real, real athlete to be
10:47reckoned with in World Championship Wrestling.
10:49Well, Kolov is a natural athlete, Tony, he's a very, very strong, powerful individual,
10:54but he knows the moves, Kolov, he knows the psychology of wrestling, he's been trained
10:59probably since childhood over in Russia, he's a very, very confident individual, and really,
11:07equal par here to Lex Luger, who is, by looking at him, a phenomenal athlete.
11:11But Larry, you know in this sport of World Championship Wrestling, that a lot rides on
11:16momentum, and I would think that Luger has as much momentum going for him now as anything
11:20else, as a matter of fact, I know he is looking forward as Luger to April 28th, because right
11:25in Chicago, the UIC Pavilion, he and Nikita Kolov one-on-one for that U.S. title.
11:30And that's going to be one of the matches to see, Tony, because there is a thing about
11:33momentum, it's sort of like a gambling streak.
11:35You hit those streaks, but it can end any time.
11:39Kolov is the man that can end Luger's momentum, believe me.
11:43Double Axe Handle attempt, but failed, and Luger rolls him up, gets a two-cap!
11:47He wasn't over the man quite enough with all that weight, he could have had him down, maybe.
11:51And he comes back up with an armbar on Jumping Joey Mags, Lee Scott, our referee for this
11:54event, as we take a good look at a man who has certainly captured the hearts of millions
11:59of fans all across the world, especially right here in Chicago and wherever you watch
12:04our telecasts on Channel 9, all across the country.
12:07Hip toss, great reversal from Luger, and Mags maybe did the right thing.
12:13Mags decided just to stay back there a second.
12:16I tell you, for a big man, Luger has, you know, balance, and he has a real good speed
12:23for a man that size.
12:24You don't see too many big, big men, and even though Luger is proportionate here, you know,
12:28body-wise, he doesn't look really as big as he is if you see the man in person.
12:32He's a big man, and he can move.
12:34I would agree with that.
12:35There's a knee that goes to the midsection, and Joey Mags tries the percussion blows.
12:39Well, Joey Mags isn't going to beat him pound for pound.
12:42He's not.
12:43He's trying to quickness down.
12:44That's what he needs, maneuvers!
12:46Luger held onto the ropes, and Luger said, here we go!
12:49And really surprised us that time.
12:51It was a left-handed clothesline with a total package.
12:54Throwing up!
12:55Here he comes with the high vertical suplex!
12:59That's a real wind-knocker on her, baby.
13:03And now Luger for the ride!
13:06Pick up!
13:07Power slam!
13:09And all the fans respond as the man whose hometown is right here in Chicago, Lex Luger,
13:16goes for the human touch-a-rack!
13:19He's got him hooked!
13:20You can see, that's the way he hooks the chin on the man with his hand.
13:23He lets that chin hook, that leg hook.
13:25Here is your winner by total package, Lex Luger!
13:31Lex Luger gets the win, and I'm sure Nikita Kolov is looking at the human touch-a-rack.
13:36This is our castrol high performance of the week, Larry.
13:39Well, watch this!
13:40Boom!
13:41There's a high performance clothesline, and poor Joey Mags' head somehow managed to stay on his neck.
13:48He scooped him up here, put him in the rack.
13:50Watch the way that hand comes around and hooks the chin.
13:52I don't know if you can see it, but there it is.
13:54Hooking that chin, that's what you need to complete the maneuver here.
13:57Castrol, engineer for today's smaller cars.
14:00In fact, when we come back, we'll talk to Lex Luger and see what happened in WrestleWar
14:04with Nikita Kolov, as well as our return bridge match.
14:07Stay tuned.
14:09Kolov, I have to admit, when you start something, you start it right.
14:14You start it in a big way.
14:16You've been a great success your whole career.
14:18You've accomplished a lot.
14:20You've come over from another country.
14:22You achieved great success.
14:24The people embraced you.
14:26They embraced the way you wrestle.
14:28But now, Nikita Kolov, you have started something totally different.
14:33Because when you took that belt and whacked me across the side of the head,
14:38and you rolled me off that stage like a piece of garbage, Nikita Kolov,
14:44you started something way bigger than you've ever been involved in before.
14:48Because, Nikita Kolov, I've wrestled them all for the U.S. title.
14:52But you've got a real funny way of asking.
14:55But I've got the message loud and clear.
14:58So, Nikita, train real hard in that dungeon,
15:01because I'm doing the same thing right now,
15:04and I want a piece of you as bad as you want a piece of me.
15:08Lift to the ring by the head of the York Foundation, Alexandra York,
15:12with her Mr. Hughes, her computerized wrestler of the 90s.
15:17From Vero Beach, Florida, at 235 pounds, Terrence Taylor.
15:25Terrence Taylor of the York Foundation, of course, Alexandra,
15:29and Mr. Hughes on the outside, remaining stoic.
15:34As we are set to go with our return grudge match,
15:37and we'll have some comments about what we've seen with Nikita Kolov after this.
15:40His opponent, from Minneapolis, Minnesota, at 245 pounds,
15:46The Z-Man!
15:53Here's a guy, The Z-Man, who has, I guess, no regards for computers
15:58as far as World Championship Wrestling is concerned.
16:02And there you see Z-Man fans all over,
16:07against Terrence Taylor.
16:08So, Larry, what do you see in this return grudge match here?
16:11Well, I'll tell you what I see. I see a real big man right there,
16:13standing in the background.
16:15If I was the Z-Man, I wouldn't be so lax.
16:18Today's a call here about Terrence Taylor,
16:20because computer or no computer,
16:23there's a big man standing back there in a suit.
16:26Arm drag, great takedown, and you can tell Z-Man,
16:28he's never looked better, really, on his shows.
16:32And, of course, he knows Terrence Taylor very, very well.
16:35There's an elbow. Wow, it found its mark.
16:37And you can tell right there,
16:38that he is not going to cut Terrence Taylor any slack at all.
16:42Well, he can't afford to.
16:43I'll tell you why.
16:44These guys have been going at it for some weeks now,
16:46and I know that the Z-Man has got to be seeing the man right there,
16:49that big man with the sunglasses and the hat.
16:51You know who I'm talking about?
16:52Uh, Mr. Hughes.
16:53Yeah, Mr. Hughes.
16:54In fact, Z-Man might be calling him sir,
16:57but he's got to keep his eye on him.
16:58Good positioning there by the Z-Man.
17:00Arm drag, hold that arm.
17:02He's got a good ringside seat for Mr. Hughes.
17:05But, uh...
17:06Well, it's time for a briefing session with Alexandra York at ringside.
17:10This is going to be interesting,
17:11because, uh, basically, as far as I'm concerned,
17:14psychologically-wise, it's three against one.
17:17Terrence Taylor, a very big, special challenge match,
17:19one-on-one against beautiful Bobby.
17:21Now, that, fans, is going to be part of our big event.
17:24It is truly one of our biggest events
17:26in recent months in Chicago at the UIC,
17:29Sunday, April 28th.
17:31And we're going to start at 7.30 at the UIC.
17:33Ticket information, of course.
17:34Once again, it'll be coming your way right after this match.
17:38Flying body press, got a two count,
17:40but did not hook a leg,
17:41but still he takes him right down again.
17:43See, he's getting back on that arm.
17:44He's trying to regain that hold,
17:46but Taylor popped up on him.
17:49Put the pressure on that wrist,
17:50get the leverage on that wrist and the elbow.
17:55Pulling right on the arm now.
17:56Taylor goes right to the ropes.
17:59And he's pulled back in by the Z-Man.
18:02I'm sure the computer program
18:03did not expect the Z-Man to do that.
18:05I'm sure it said something like,
18:06you know, Z-Man should break the hold
18:08because that's what the legal meaning is.
18:11But, of course, myself being in a court of law,
18:13I realize that justice and the law
18:15are two separate things.
18:17And so it is in the wrestling ring.
18:19You know, that's pretty cynical of you.
18:21Can I also bring up this while we have a moment?
18:23Sure.
18:24Please take off the Chicago Cubs T-shirt
18:26and put on another shirt to do your Larry Z's legend.
18:28Yeah, I have to blow my nose anyway.
18:30What does that have to do with anything?
18:31I'm going to use the shirt.
18:32Oh, for crying out loud.
18:33Right hand to the face.
18:35And...
18:36Oh, that's...
18:37There it's Taylor.
18:38A little sneaky move there by Taylor.
18:40Wow, those are really high impact maneuvers
18:42from Taylor now.
18:43I think the computer said
18:44if the wrestling moves fail,
18:46just go all out and punch.
18:48Because I tell you, the Z-Man is in good shape.
18:50He's fast.
18:51And Mr. Hughes looks kind of cynical
18:55standing over there, don't he?
18:57I don't know.
18:58I guess you should know you're a cynical guy
19:00right now to the point of attack again.
19:03Terrence Taylor is taking command of this match
19:05over the Z-Man.
19:06And he may have it all wrapped up right now.
19:08He's got a two.
19:09And Z-Man...
19:11Looks a bit dazed, doesn't he?
19:13Oh, he looks more than a bit dazed.
19:14He's in trouble here.
19:16Into the ropes.
19:17He came off with an elbow.
19:19So maybe the dazed look that time
19:21was there to fool Terrence Taylor.
19:24Power slam.
19:25Here's a cover.
19:26And we got a two.
19:28And he almost got a win with that one.
19:30All right.
19:31In this grudge match, Z-Man taking...
19:32Oh!
19:33There's his super kick.
19:34That's his move.
19:35One, two...
19:37Oh, I tell you.
19:38I thought Taylor was not cold
19:40when I saw that flip smash
19:42inside of Taylor's face.
19:43We take a look at Mr. Hughes
19:45watching calmly.
19:46Z-Man over the top.
19:48Z-Man and Terrence Taylor collide.
19:50And they both go outside.
19:52You're watching Z-Man on the floor.
19:54Mr. Hughes is right behind him.
19:57That's what I mean right there.
19:58Tony's three against one for the Z-Man here.
20:01And Mr. Hughes walks up to him.
20:03Oh!
20:04And throws him right into the post.
20:06And rolls him back in.
20:08The referee didn't see it.
20:09He was over there plunking around with Terrence Taylor.
20:11Wait a second.
20:12He hit the post hard.
20:13And that's winning.
20:14That's a three count.
20:15Here is the winner, Terrence Taylor.
20:18Wait a second.
20:19He hit him with a three count.
20:20Not a chance.
20:21The foot was on the roof.
20:22A one, two, three.
20:23I saw it.
20:24Everybody saw it.
20:25We were watching the same monitor.
20:26But the fact of the matter is that Mr. Hughes,
20:29doing middle of the rope,
20:31or into the post.
20:32And here's what happened once again.
20:35Right here, the referee being distracted by Terrence Taylor.
20:37He's got his pants up.
20:39And we saw Mr. Hughes there just really threw the Z-Man
20:44into that middle post and threw him in.
20:47Now, I saw a three count is what I saw, Tony.
20:50Yeah, we all saw the foot on the roof.
20:52Right here.
20:53Watch.
20:54One, two.
20:56Foot on the roof.
20:57Who cares?
20:58The referee didn't see it.
20:59It's a three count.
21:00Well, you're right.
21:01In a way.
21:02And fans will have more right after our Brick House bonus.
21:06You know, Ric Flair was in Japan recently,
21:08and he fought the number one international contender,
21:13Tatsumi Fujinami.
21:15Now, Tatsumi is quite a guy and very popular over there.
21:18As a matter of fact, internationally he's very popular.
21:21Ric Flair was given the decision.
21:23He won the bout.
21:25But there's a clout over that victory.
21:28You just get the impression that I've seen the videotape.
21:30You get the impression that he just didn't win it totally fair and square.
21:35I think myself that Fujinami has a complaint, a legitimate complaint.
21:39With all that, don't be surprised then if they really decide
21:42that they're going to have a rematch on this one, which makes sense.
21:46And, of course, let's make this point,
21:48that Fujinami, in order to win, has to pin Ric Flair.
21:53Well, that's going to take a little doing, too,
21:55with the great champion that Ric is and the great talent that he has.
21:59They'll probably have that rematch here someday.
22:01I want to watch it, don't you?
22:03Brick House with another Brick House bonus.
22:05Brick House.
22:15And weighing in the combined weight of 504 pounds,
22:19that's from Atlanta, Georgia, one pound, Tony Rich!
22:23And from the great Northwoods, his partner, Big John!
22:28In the ring now, bonus, that's from New York City, Lou Fabiano!
22:33And from Trenton, Georgia, Petro!
22:37All right, a vastly popular tag team, Wildfire, Tommy Rich, and Big Josh,
22:41who have some ambitions in world championship wrestling.
22:44Here's what they told to us earlier on.
22:47You know, Josh, a lot of the people are saying,
22:49you're not a heck of a wrestler, but you're one heck of a brawler.
22:52You know, and what they got out there in WCW,
22:54they got the US heavyweight tag titles, and they got the world tag titles.
22:57You and me might have a shot at this.
22:59Well, I'll tell you what, Tommy, if it's a tag title you want,
23:01it's a tag title I'll deliver, I promise.
23:05Pat Rose now, hitting the ropes on the other side,
23:07as Tommy Rich is down and up,
23:09and a hip toss puts him right in the center of the ring.
23:11What a great contrast of styles for a tag team.
23:15Big Josh, who came in, and now...
23:20Well, the contrast of styles is we have Tommy Rich,
23:22who is a veteran wrestler, and we have Big Josh,
23:24who's very unorthodox over the last, you know, few weeks that we've seen him.
23:28He just seems to run amok.
23:30He carries a big stick in the ring, and right away, that's a no-no.
23:33Now, he carries a stick to the ring, Larry.
23:36He doesn't take it in the ring.
23:38I saw him with the stick in the ring.
23:40In fact, Tommy Rich had to try to talk to this.
23:43I mean, this guy isn't exactly a full-tech player.
23:45He's talking about Leonard...
23:48And his dog, Betsy.
23:50Betsy.
23:51Who's the dog? His girlfriend?
23:53No, he's talking about the dog.
23:54There's the stick.
23:55There's the big axe handle.
23:56And there's more to that man than just a big axe handle.
23:58He is really a brawler, and, of course, you have your wrestler
24:01in a real classic sense in Wildfire, Tommy Rich.
24:04And what a tremendous pro he has been through the years in world championship wrestling.
24:08And he has a man like Big Josh, who is really catching on to the fans,
24:12and a man who has become immensely popular in world championship wrestling.
24:15As a matter of fact, as Tommy ducks low and gets a great arm drag...
24:19He had that arm hook good when he took the man over,
24:21and when he comes up, you see he still has it hooked that way,
24:24right in the elbow joint where it's supposed to be.
24:26That's a sign of a ring veteran.
24:27The interesting point is, what kind of teamwork?
24:30You talk about tag teams, and you've got the Steiners,
24:32you've got the Young Pistols, you've got, you know, etc.
24:35But now, here's Tommy Rich and Big Josh.
24:37How can they coordinate that effort of teamwork?
24:41And only got a one count that time, but Rich is back.
24:44And that's a good point about teamwork.
24:46It takes teams to win world tag team titles that have been together for quite a while.
24:50But it also takes talent.
24:52And I don't think there's any denying this guy is a real fighter,
24:55and he really has a lot of ability.
24:57Well, he's a brawler. I mean, he's a big, tough guy.
24:59He's a brawler. He's kind of, like, goofy.
25:01And it's tough, and that makes for a dangerous man.
25:03Here he goes!
25:05And he sets on him!
25:07What was that move?
25:09Yeah, you don't know, do you?
25:10I don't have a name for it.
25:11Wildfire Tommy Rich and Big Josh!
25:14Okay, but the match is over.
25:16I don't have a name for that move.
25:17You called it the flying whatever.
25:19You can't say it on TV.
25:21Okay, let's take a look once again.
25:25Well, here's Big Josh again.
25:26Teamwork, I don't know.
25:28He's an unorthodox man, but boom, he just crushed him right into the sternum.
25:32Look at that man move.
25:34Bang, zoom, up he goes.
25:36The flying whatever is the only thing I can say on television.
25:40Whatever it is, it gets the job done, and they're a great team.
25:44Tommy Rich and Big Josh.
25:46Larry Z's legend in the ring next with Sid Vicious and Owen Hart in action after that.
25:53World Championship Wrestling presents the Japan Super Show.
25:57Rumble in the rising sun.
25:59Travel to the Orient, where champion Ric Flair faces the Japanese challenger Tatsumi Fujinami
26:05for the coveted WCW heavyweight belt.
26:08Two superpowers square off when America's own Sting battles his former foe, the Great Muta.
26:14Don't miss the Rumble in the Rising Sun.
26:16When World Championship Wrestling superstars travel to Tokyo, Japan,
26:20you can bring the action home only on pay-per-view.
26:23Larry Z's legend.
26:26Personally, I don't care what anybody says about this man.
26:29This man, to me, is the biggest, toughest man in World Championship Wrestling,
26:36and I'm talking about Sid Vicious.
26:40All right, Sid Vicious coming to the ring here in Larry Z's legends,
26:45and Larry says he's the biggest in World Championship Wrestling.
26:49Did you wonder why they cheer me?
26:51Well, I'll tell you something.
26:53Hitler was worshipped also.
26:58I think that just about says it all.
27:00All right, let's go back up to Larry.
27:04You know, I hear talk about a giant in World Championship Wrestling,
27:11but when you say the word giant, this is what comes into my mind.
27:15I'll tell you something.
27:17Larry's a legend.
27:18He's been around a long time,
27:21and it doesn't take a real sport man to look at me and say,
27:27hey, this man is superior to all.
27:33Now, I told you in 1991 that I had a goal
27:40and that nothing would stop me reaching that goal.
27:44So I started with Pillman and almost broke his stinking neck.
27:50So everybody's crying about it.
27:53Well, I'm not crying.
27:55Elegante, you come down and you put your big, fat, ugly head in my business
28:01one more time, and I will have a big stretcher for you,
28:07and you will be stretched out,
28:09because in 1991, there would be not a doubt that Sid Vicious rules the world.
28:17I tell you, this man rules the world.
28:19Personally, I believe him, and we'll see how Larry sees legend.
28:24From Calgary, at 225 pounds, Owen Hall.
28:32In the ring, his opponent, from Raleigh, North Carolina, Keith Stark.
28:37All right, a look at Owen Hart,
28:40and our first look at this tremendous athlete out of Calgary.
28:46You know, I heard a lot of things about this man.
28:47You better keep your eyes up in the air when you watch Owen Hart wrestle.
28:52You watch the mat, you may not see too much of the man.
28:54He's up there, Tony.
28:56Good, good athlete.
29:00And right now, getting the fans behind him,
29:02I don't think, with that entrance into the ring,
29:04that somersault that he did over the top,
29:08we're going to be seeing some great things out of Owen Hart to come
29:10in the weeks here on World Championship Wrestling.
29:15And against Keith Smart now.
29:17Very, very agile man, like a cat.
29:21Right over the top, look at that.
29:23Head scissors, great takedown.
29:25Head scissors via Mexico.
29:28Via Mexico?
29:30Via Mexico.
29:31In Mexico, that's a big maneuver, they love that stuff.
29:35Okay.
29:36Right to the arm now.
29:37You wouldn't know that, you're an announcer.
29:39I've only been to Juarez once or twice.
29:41Yeah, I don't want to know.
29:42Over the top, look at this agility.
29:47Takes him right down.
29:48You know, you can see that he is a tremendous athlete,
29:51but he has a lot of confidence with each and every move that he does, Larry.
29:55Oh, there's a lot of confidence.
29:56I mean, you have to have the ability before you even attempt maneuvers like that.
29:59Like I said, you hardly ever see Owen Hart here on one foot or on the mat.
30:04He's up in the air.
30:05I mean, it's a bird, it's a plane, it's Owen Hart.
30:09And now, firing back.
30:12Owen Hart in, up on top again.
30:15Over top.
30:17Picks him up.
30:18High back body drop.
30:20Boy, I tell you what, he has a counter move for everything.
30:23And there's a drop kick to send.
30:25Start out on the side now.
30:28Here he comes, Owen Hart flying through!
30:30Oh, wow!
30:32That might have knocked him right out.
30:33Hit his head on that safety rail that time.
30:35Wow, someone threw the safety rail.
30:39You're talking about flying ability.
30:41Owen Hart is a great second generation wrestler
30:45and has a great background in this sport.
30:50Over the top now.
30:52And right now slows it down.
30:54Boy, I tell you what, it's probably starts,
30:56it starts advantageous to be on the mat.
30:58It's not only slowing it down, but when your opponent can't get up,
31:01it really does no good to fly him up.
31:03Not at all.
31:04Fans, we want to remind you to be with us Sunday, April 28th,
31:07right here at Chicago's UIC Pavilion.
31:09The big cage match is the main event
31:11where Sting and 7'7", Angelicante,
31:13who will be with us a little bit later on in our program,
31:15will take on Ric Flair and Barry Windham.
31:18Great seats are still available.
31:19By the way, Larry Zabisco will be on that card,
31:22wrestling once again.
31:23And it's the main event.
31:24Wait until you see what I do to Van Vader.
31:26Well, I can't wait for that.
31:28Look at that.
31:29Belly to belly off of the rope.
31:30And now we are just waiting to see
31:32what Owen Hart's going to come up with next.
31:34You never know.
31:35Up on top.
31:36Turns around with a flying body press
31:38and gets the three count.
31:40Winner of the match, Owen Hart.
31:43Tremendous win in his debut on WCW.
31:47Pro Chicago.
31:49This is our Nintendo Power Plant.
31:51It's a bird.
31:52It's a plane.
31:53It's Owen Hart.
31:54He flew right between those two ropes.
31:55Watch this.
31:56Bam.
31:57Look at the man's head, Tony.
31:59I tell you, I'm really surprised the opponent got up.
32:01But here he goes again.
32:02He walks those ropes just like the flying Flamendez
32:05or whatever that man's name was before he died.
32:07But he comes any way you look.
32:09Owen Hart's coming at you.
32:11Fans, when we come back, we'll take a look
32:13at what happened with Stan Hanson,
32:15Van Vader at WrestleWar,
32:16and then hear comments from Stan the Laird himself.
32:19Stay with us.
32:20Not a surprise.
32:24It ended in a double disqualification.
32:27I don't know what's going to take the subtlest
32:28between these two guys,
32:30but regular rules will never do it.
32:32WCW live and in color right here.
32:34This is what it's all about.
32:36Fans couldn't breathe.
32:38Well, look out in the back.
32:39That's all I can tell you.
32:40No, no, no.
32:42Don't turn that dog.
32:43I know you want a bunch of them pretty boys
32:45like Frying Flam and Ricky,
32:48Ricky Martin and Dusty Rhodes Jr.
32:51But you see what I just did
32:53to that big old fat invader?
32:55I chased him out of the country.
32:57So now Stan Hanson,
32:59who does what he says he's going to do,
33:01I said I was going to beat him up
33:02and send him packing,
33:03and I did it.
33:04Now I want some of these prima donna boys,
33:07these old boys that think they're so pretty
33:09that they don't stop and say hello to nobody.
33:12These boys who think that they're God's gift to women.
33:15Well, look at this big nasty butch right here.
33:18Everybody knows I ain't,
33:20and I'm glad of it
33:21because I'm a old man.
33:23I don't care no more what anybody else thinks.
33:25But I tell you what,
33:26Ricky Martin, Dusty Jr.,
33:28Flying Brian, Tom Zink,
33:30all you pretty boys,
33:32take a good look at this face
33:34because you're going to see it real close,
33:36real fast,
33:38and right on you.
33:41Ladies and gentlemen,
33:42the following six-man tag team event
33:44is set for one fall.
33:45First, from Wyoming,
33:46at a kabar weight of 756 pounds,
33:49the Young Pistols.
33:50They're partnered with a man from Austin, Texas,
33:53the natural,
33:54Dustin Rhodes.
33:57Their opponent, first from Chicago, Illinois,
33:59Magnum Force.
34:01And from Chattanooga, Tennessee,
34:03Paul Lee.
34:06All right.
34:07We're taking a look at
34:08Dustin Rhodes, the natural,
34:10and the Young Pistols together
34:11in a six-man tag.
34:13And, of course,
34:14we've just heard the comments
34:15from Stan, the Lariat Hanson.
34:17And, of course,
34:18Stan Hanson now has made a challenge to anyone.
34:20He says that he has chased Van Vader away.
34:23But, of course,
34:24the natural, Dustin Rhodes,
34:26and the Young Pistols now
34:27are these younger wrestlers
34:28that he's been talking about
34:29that he wants to take every man on.
34:33You know, Dustin Rhodes,
34:34ever since we've seen the man
34:35about a month ago,
34:36he's been aggressive every week.
34:37Notice right now in the six-man.
34:38Who's the man that starts off?
34:40Dustin Rhodes.
34:41And teams will do that
34:42to get that momentum started
34:43in their favor.
34:45And a great reversal.
34:46One-half of Magnum Force.
34:48The natural with a high back body drop.
34:51Arm drag takedown.
34:53And for the second time
34:54since the member of Magnum Force
34:56right over fans,
34:57we want to tell you,
34:58right now,
34:59as the rate goes up,
35:00that next week on the program,
35:01we have signed now,
35:02right here on Channel 9,
35:04one-on-one,
35:05a big grudge match,
35:06Flying Ryan against Barry Windham.
35:08Look at that Flying Lariat
35:09right out of the side that time
35:11from the natural,
35:12Dustin Rhodes.
35:14And now,
35:15here's a tag to Steve
35:16of the Young Pistols.
35:18And quickly,
35:19Tracy comes in.
35:20And here's a team
35:21that's never teamed before
35:22as a six-man team.
35:23But, of course,
35:24the Pistols have been together
35:25a lot.
35:26Well, if you notice that,
35:27Dustin came in different.
35:28Well, if you notice that,
35:29Dustin came in,
35:30did start off very aggressive,
35:31but when the Pistols came in,
35:32boom, boom,
35:33quick tags.
35:34Now, let's see
35:35what Magnum Force has.
35:38The other half of Magnum Force
35:39in against Tracy
35:40of the Young Pistols.
35:42It's the youth movement
35:43in World Championship Wrestling.
35:44We have some of the greatest
35:45young athletes
35:46in the entire world
35:47with us right now.
35:49Of course,
35:50Yohan Hart,
35:51we just saw moments ago.
35:52And then, of course,
35:54we have Dustin Rhodes
35:55and the Young Pistols together.
35:58And, of course,
35:59we have, as we said,
36:00our greatest athletes
36:01in the entire world
36:02tag team or in singles competition.
36:04Well, yeah, the world needs that
36:05because 10 years from now
36:07when I'm in Hawaii
36:08with the hut and the Jeep
36:09and the beautiful deaf mute,
36:11they're going to need someone else
36:12on Larry Z's Legends.
36:13And these are the legends
36:14of the future.
36:15Time will tell
36:17which one of these guys
36:18are going to make it,
36:19which one of these guys aren't.
36:22It's looking good.
36:23The future is looking bright
36:24for the Young Pistols.
36:25Double chop that time.
36:26Speaking of great tag teams,
36:28the Steiners,
36:29the world tag team champions,
36:30will be in Chicago
36:31against Stan Hansen
36:32and Sid Vicious,
36:33the man that we saw
36:34on Larry Z's Legends
36:35for the world tag title.
36:37Look at that super kick
36:38and the cover.
36:39And now we've got four in.
36:41As the other member
36:42of Magnum Force and Paul Lee
36:43both go down,
36:44we have basically
36:45a three-on-one here.
36:47They're both giving it
36:48their best shot
36:49here at Young Pistols.
36:50Oh, good move.
36:51Tremendous.
36:52Dustin gets the cover
36:53and the win.
36:55Here are your winners,
36:56the Young Pistols
36:57and the natural Dustin Rhodes.
37:01That was red hot, Larry Z.
37:03Here it is again.
37:05Well, right here,
37:06the Young Pistols came in.
37:07Boom, they start off
37:08with the teamwork
37:09after an aggressive start
37:10by Dustin Rhodes.
37:11Watch this.
37:12Bing over,
37:13bang down.
37:17And right here,
37:18I thought that both teams
37:19were going at it.
37:20Look at the teamwork here.
37:21Double gut shot
37:22out of nowhere
37:23comes Dustin Rhodes
37:24from behind.
37:25Bang.
37:26Good night.
37:27And the fans erupted.
37:29Dustin Rhodes,
37:30the natural,
37:31and the Young Pistols
37:32with a six-man tag.
37:33When we come back,
37:34we'll look at the situation
37:35with the members of DOOM,
37:36Ron Simmons and Butch Reed
37:37and, of course,
37:38Teddy Long

39:15It was a tremendous fight.
39:17All the wrestlers
39:18in the back dressing room

39:33to your place?
39:36Come on, man.
39:37All of a sudden,
39:41I guess Larry Z's
39:42Legends of Brooklyn
39:43is over now
39:44because look at him.
39:46Ron Simmons
39:47out of the dressing room area.
39:50And we got a piercing throw.
39:56Toe-to-toe,
39:57the officials win.
40:04They can't hold him back.
40:06Wrestlers filling the ring now.
40:13None of the wrestlers
40:14can hold these two back.
40:15They're really going at it.
40:21Toe-to-toe still.
40:23And now,
40:24the officials
40:25trying to get between
40:26Simmons and Reed.
40:28Between Teddy Long.
40:31If you got any idea
40:32of what's gonna come to you,
40:34you will pray
40:35that tomorrow don't come.
40:36If you think for one moment
40:37I'm gonna let you get away
40:38with what you did to me
40:39in WrestleWorld,
40:40you can forget it, brother,
40:41because now,
40:42all of my efforts
40:43are going toward one thing,
40:44and that's revenge.
40:45I'm not gonna let you
40:46and Teddy Long
40:47get away
40:48with trying to put the blame
40:49in my corner
40:50because you couldn't
40:51handle success.
40:52You couldn't handle
40:53being world champion.
40:54But now,
40:55let me tell you this, brother.
40:56You're gonna do it
40:57and you're gonna do it
40:58my way now.
40:59Ladies and gentlemen,
41:00the following event
41:01is set for one fall.
41:02Introducing first,
41:03set to come out
41:04at 701 pounds,
41:05first from Argentina,
41:06the largest opening
41:07in the world,
41:08El Gigante.
41:10And his partner,
41:11from Venice Beach,
41:12California,
41:13Stig.
41:16He's a reigning opponent,
41:17trying to come out
41:18at 531 pounds,
41:19first from Eastridge,
41:20Tennessee,
41:21Jim Boss.
41:22And from Woodsdale,
41:23Ohio, Jim Soar.
41:27Everyone standing here,
41:30and it's not for those two,
41:31it's for El Gigante and Stig.
41:33They have to stand
41:34because this guy's so tall
41:35you can't see past him.
41:37And that big guy,
41:38El Gigante and Stig,
41:40will be climbing in the cage
41:41in a tag team match
41:42against Ric Flair
41:43and Barry Wynton.
41:44It'll be right here in Chicago.
41:47And fans,
41:48you don't want to miss it.
41:49In about three weeks now.
41:53They had something to say
41:54to Ric Flair,
41:55and here's what they had
41:56to say earlier on.
41:58What a special day!
42:00What a special match!
42:02What a special cage!
42:03What a special wrestler I am!
42:05I get to hop in the cage
42:06with you, Ric Flair,
42:08and we got a special referee,
42:10El Gigante!
42:11Check out the size of him!
42:12We might have to have
42:13a special cage made
42:14just for him.
42:16All right, Larry,
42:17as you know,
42:18Stig wants to be
42:19that WCW world champion
42:20once again,
42:21and of course,
42:22the same ambition goes
42:23for El Gigante.
42:24They feel they can get
42:25Flair in the cage.
42:26They got him where they want him.
42:27Well, even if they get
42:28Ric Flair in the cage,
42:29what does that have to do
42:30with the world championship?
42:33I know what you're thinking.
42:34I know what you're thinking.
42:35Let's get him in the cage,
42:36let's beat him,
42:37and let's go to the
42:38upper echelon
42:39of the championship next.
42:40You've got to realize,
42:41Stig, outside of popular belief,
42:42was a crybaby.
42:44He's been at the
42:45James Buster Douglas Syndrome.
42:47Ric Flair proved that.
42:49Uh-oh.
42:50Uh-oh, he's right!
42:52Bang!
42:53Clothesline!
42:55This guy's dug down
42:56his knees to do a clothesline.
42:59And right now,
43:00Jeff Sword wants
43:01no part of him at all,
43:02and you know,
43:03we heard the comments
43:04of Sid Vicious
43:05just moments ago
43:06on Larry Z's Legends.
43:08Big foot!
43:09Right in the chest!
43:11And I know El Higate
43:15realizes about the size
43:17of Sid Vicious.
43:19Tremendous slam.
43:22He is incredible.
43:25And now,
43:26hoists the man
43:27to the ropes.
43:28There's the claw!
43:30Here we are,
43:31this man,
43:32this would almost be banned
43:33with the man's got a hand
43:34that size.
43:35The winner so far
43:36is El Higate!
43:38How can Ric Flair
43:40and Barry Windham
43:42combat against the claw
43:44in the cage
43:45in Chicago?
43:46That's a big question, Larry.
43:47Well, speaking of big questions,
43:49here's one big possibility.
43:51Man, I tell ya.
43:54Look at the size of this man.
43:56He's the smallest of men
43:57right here, but watch.
43:58He doesn't have to be that big
44:00in the wrestling move department
44:01because he's just strong.
44:03Fans, we're out of time.
44:04See you next week
44:05right here on Channel 9.
