00:00My dad and brother were in there, and it was fun to do that for them, too.
00:03I know this offense was clicking on all cylinders the other night.
00:08You set a bunch of school records with what you did in East Lansing.
00:11What's it like to be part of a performance that it just feels like
00:14everything's going right?
00:15Yeah, I mean, it's a lot of fun, and we're so connected as an offense.
00:20We're all each other's best friend, pretty much.
00:23So it's just cool when you're connected like that, and
00:26you have the confidence that everybody has.
00:28It's an awesome feeling.
00:29But- Just, okay, good performance.
00:35I can't wait for the coming up.
00:36How do you kind of, that was great, and get ready for a big game?
00:40Yeah, I think the switch is, the season starts now.
00:44This is, everything we want to accomplish, it starts now.
00:47And Cal is definitely a team that gave us one of our toughest battles last year in
00:52the conference, and it's an exciting opportunity.
00:57And for an offense, at least, they have a really great defense, and so
01:00it's a cool opportunity for us.
01:02We see all kind of all the sexy stuff that you guys do, pass catching.
01:05How important is it, run blocking and
01:07everything else in your position for the rest of the offense?
01:10Yeah, no, I mean, run blocking, and I think as a tight end group,
01:13we pass block the most out of any tight end group in the country.
01:17And so protecting Mike, and
01:19that's one of our biggest coaching points every day.
01:24And then as for the run game, it's about being physical, holding your own, and
01:28being sticky.
01:28That's the biggest thing.
01:29If you can be sticky as a tight end, you can be a great blocker.
01:32I'm sorry, your defense is playing complementary football, and
01:35you guys are doing that.
01:36Just what does that feel like,
01:38just all three sides playing really well right now?
01:42Yeah, no, I mean, we saw it in camp.
01:44It was like, during camp, it was a battle each and every day.
01:47And they've improved in so many ways, just the continuity and
01:50the different stuff they're doing.
01:52It's massive to when we can feed off of each other.
01:55I think Tony mentioned it, but you gave a senior talk before the game.
01:59Just kind of, can you just take me through,
02:01because you have a deep history of the program and things like that.
02:04What did it mean to you to kind of have that opportunity?
02:06Yeah, no, I mean, it's something that when I was a freshman,
02:09I saw all the other seniors do it.
02:11And I always thought about what I would say, and obviously it changed.
02:14But it was cool to just be up there and just tell the guys a little bit about my
02:18story and how much this place means to me, because it runs really deep for me.
02:23And I just let the younger guys know about a little bit of my story and
02:28how that can help them.
02:29And somebody asked me on Twitter, so correct me if I'm wrong.
02:32How many games did you play in high school?
02:34I played two.
02:35So that is true, okay.
02:36So just kind of how, just take me through that.
02:39What position did you play?
02:40Did you play tight end?
02:42Yeah, I played tight end, but I was all basketball up until then.
02:48And then just my senior year, I wanted to have fun.
02:50And then I was really fortunate to be coached by Hugh Millen,
02:55which was a really awesome opportunity.
02:58And he helped me a ton to get where I am.
