00:00Cameroon's genius found in the country's young people.
00:21How youth know-how measures up to the billions of francs CFA doled out by the state.
00:27However, the resultant innovation and inventions in this newscast.
00:32Meanwhile, 200 of them, youth, in the Kunki Division of the West, qualify for an agricultural
00:39support package.
00:40The benefactor, the Honorable Albert Quinche, pushes on entrepreneurship too.
00:46And the values of peace in the heart of a festival, that way beyond cultural displays,
00:53a vozok in the south region is armed with new development ideas.
00:57These and more, right ahead.
01:03Hello, my name is Mukwele Princewira Aduma.
01:08Welcome to the 730.
01:10Let's begin this newscast with the youth of this country.
01:14One of the gateways to the development and industrialization of every country is the
01:18ability of youths to venture and innovate.
01:22Three Cameroonian youth have embarked on innovation in the domains of electricity,
01:26fuel gauge, and solar power driven neonatal incubator.
01:31Here is their success story in this report by Gilbert Ongene.
01:36Passion and determination and a knack for innovation in a bid to bring solutions to
01:43problems we face on a daily basis is what unites these three young Cameroonians who
01:49have made a headway in their different fields.
01:53I discovered that in fueling stations, when they want to gauge the level of fuel, they
01:58insert a long object into the container that is quite cumbersome.
02:03This explains why I came up with this instrument that can measure the level of fuel from a
02:08distance.
02:10Passion for creativity and innovation is also what drives 32-year-old Prince, a telecommunications
02:18engineer whose power map is serving as a handy alternative to those who face power
02:26outages in rural and urban areas.
02:28The dispositive can charge the phone without the electrical energy coming from the ISNL.
02:35This sense of resilience and a search for excellence is also what keeps SEARCH, inventor
02:43of this solar energy-powered incubator, which comes as a ready answer to the high rate of
02:49neonatal mortality in Cameroon, going.
02:53Since eight years, I would say, we have been working in this agency to put the very product
02:58on the market.
02:59We are well known with the neonatal incubators, but we grant some big contracts with some
03:06companies that enable us to have the capacity of production.
03:11This neonatal incubator is already selling in six countries in Africa and has as ambition
03:19to go beyond.
03:21Same motivation for the two other youths, all being propelled by the burning desire
03:27to take their ideas and creativity to the pinnacle of success.
03:33Same self-welfare and determination in the city of Douala, where a young entrepreneur
03:38is revolutionizing urban transport with an innovative app designed to facilitate movement
03:45within the city.
03:46This technological advancement promises to simplify commuting for residents, making urban
03:52travel more efficient and convenient.
03:55Let's join Artiu Feze Onhan to discover the originality of what is called the TripMaster.
04:02His report.
04:04In the bustling cityscape of Douala, young entrepreneurs are making waves in the urban
04:10transport sector with groundbreaking initiatives.
04:15Tria Swebu, the visionary behind TripMaster, an innovative online transport application.
04:21We have put in place this particular platform, taking into consideration the ecosystem of
04:27our country.
04:29For Swebu, the urban transport system in Douala was in a dire need of modernization and efficiency.
04:36This realization sparked the idea of creating a digital platform.
04:41You can easily reserve our car or reserve a motorcycle on our platform ahead of time.
04:48If you have, for instance, an appointment for 2pm, you can book a car or a motorcycle
04:54right now and the car is at your door 20 minutes even before the departure time.
05:01The app caters to a wide range of users, from daily commuters to occasional travelers, providing
05:07a seamless and convenient experience.
05:11Its impact extends beyond the digital realm.
05:14It addresses the practical challenges of urban mobility, reduces wait times, and enhances
05:20safety by ensuring that all drivers and vehicles meet stringent quality standards.
05:29And with a budget of 102 billion CFA francs, the 3-year Special Youth Plan has, following
05:36its inception in 2016, led to the empowerment of more than 20,000 young Cameroonians in
05:43the socio-economic domains.
05:45Via the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, various funding programs have also
05:50been created with organs such as the Cameroon National Youth Council and the National Youth
05:55Observatory in existence to nurture young talents and place them in places where they
06:01will glow.
06:02Yoti Kale, Lissonge.
06:05Ideas are run and the necessary steps taken to make young and aspiring entrepreneurs flourish.
06:15A journey which begins with keeping moral and civic values in check.
06:21This happens on a level playing field.
06:23A Cameroonian youth is that person that is age 15 to 35 years.
06:29Every youth is an opportunity.
06:30To efficiently accompany young persons, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education
06:36groups them in Pawnia villages, from where the form clusters, as is the case with the
06:413-year Special Youth Plan.
06:43The young people who have innovative ideas, we identify them and route them in incubators
06:52where you have specialist enterprises.
06:55When their projects are matured, then funding is disbursed for them and you have specialists
07:04in his field that follow him up to make sure that he succeeds.
07:08That is why they have set up what you call Frega's Zone to guarantee funding for youth
07:13projects.
07:14But for you to get it, and for us to be very sure, you need what you call the youth biometric
07:22card.
07:24Through the Cameroon National Youth Council, young Cameroonians are also given the opportunity
07:29to imbibe the country's political culture.
07:33We prepare youths to take over Cameroon administration and for that reason, you have the Cameroon
07:45Youth Council structures and to become a member, you just have to subscribe.
07:52I think it's free.
07:54When all this is done, bigger networking avenues present themselves like the Youth Connect
08:00Initiative.
08:01All the state says is required is for young stars to grasp the chance while in the bloom
08:07of youth.
08:08Yes, Yuti, and again, over 200 youths involved in agriculture and petit trading have received
08:17financial assistance worth 8 million CFA francs from the CPD and member of the National Assembly
08:22for the Kunki, the Honourable Arbe Quinche, the donation which was extended to persons
08:28fleeing the crisis in the north-west and south-west regions was hailed by the Senior Divisional
08:33Officer for the Kunki, Harry Lanyo Gwanyi, while presiding over the ceremony at the Demdeng
08:41ceremonial grounds.
08:42Esther Kima reports.
08:44A gesture worth gold for the youth of the Kunki engaged in small scale ventures.
08:51The parliamentary grants of their elected representative distributed to them is a stitching
08:56time that saves nine.
08:58Witnessed by the Senior Divisional Officer, Harry Lanyo Gwanyi, the move is a leap in
09:03the future.
09:04I'm convinced that the development of this country is under their hands.
09:10By this action, I follow what our president said, that the future of this country belongs
09:17to the youth.
09:18Committed to change lives, the actions of Honourable Arbe Quinche is applauded by municipal
09:24officials and traditional authorities, but most especially by the internally displaced
09:29who have found home in the Kunki.
09:32I don't know how to explain my joy.
09:33I've been selling vegetables in the Banjun Central Market.
09:37It will help me to improve in my business.
09:39Only the price can buy me a full-grown machine so that I can produce, I can work and help
09:45others with it.
09:46So I'm happy.
09:47I'm really happy for the support.
09:49I sell dresses at home.
09:51I'm going to buy another machine.
09:52The first edition of the support program, also extended to the clergy, is a tacit indication
09:58that meaningful development knows no boundaries.
10:03And the church does open to this newscast.
10:06Women of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of the Nyong'o Afamba Federation have expressed
10:11determination to spread the word of God across borders.
10:15This is the major revelation at the first-ever Women's Congress organized in Ayos, Nyong'o
10:21and Fumo Division Centre region.
10:23The rally was chaired by the Federation's President, François Zé Evina.
10:28Romeo Kenyi reports.
10:32The Seventh-day Adventist Church women are meeting in Ayos for the very first time in
10:37a congress.
10:38They are from the Nyong'o Afamba Federation.
10:40The prime gathering is basically to re-echo the values of Christianity.
10:44As women, we are trying to show to everybody that we have a master and this master is Jesus
10:51Christ.
10:52That helps us to try how to live with people in our environment.
10:59The Nyong'o Afamba Federation counts at least 24 district churches with some 17,000 believers.
11:05Among them are 8,000 women.
11:08This congress is important for the church to build women to work hard.
11:13The Women's Congress holds once in five years.
11:16On the sidelines, there was an exhibition of holy scriptures.
11:20The congress ends on Saturday, July 13, with the celebration of a church service.
11:24Meanwhile, the Youth Congress of the Federation will take place in the days ahead, still in
11:30Ayos.
11:32And six deacons and three church elders of the Bethel Parish of the Iglis Presbyterian
11:37Kamones Chinga have been installed into their respective functions in Yaoundé.
11:43This was during a consecration service led by the parish pastor, the Rev. Bang Joseph,
11:48who prescribed devotion, faithfulness, and integrity to the new shepherds.
11:53Victor Siga was there.
11:55His report.
11:56Six new deacons and three church elders, welcomed by faithful of the Bethel Parish of the Iglis
12:04Presbyterian Kamones, as they step into their new functions, they henceforth become living
12:10sacrifices by dedicating themselves to the Lord.
12:29While deacons are encouraged to carry out their mission of assisting the pastors and
12:35elders in proclaiming the gospel with loyalty, elders on their path are challenged to do
12:41their work of spiritual overseers and caretakers of the Christians in honesty and integrity.
12:57The celebration was occasion for some Christians to seal their faith in Jesus Christ through
13:03the sacraments of baptism.
13:33With hands full of gifts, Christians of St. Achille Kiwanuka Parish of Mendon-i-Yaoundé
13:48joined their parish priest, Rev. Fr. Alain Melongui, to celebrate his 10 years of stewardship.
13:56Today is a very big day for me.
13:58I am elected to be celebrating my 10th anniversary as priest.
14:02I give God all the glory.
14:04I am nothing without Him.
14:05I am confiding in God for the strength and grace to keep on serving in His vineyard.
14:13The solemn ceremony coincides with the Feast of the Amataya, St. Achille Kiwanuka of Uganda.
14:20Achille is a model, a model of faith in Jesus Christ and we want to walk behind Achille
14:29and ask Achille to pray for us so that we have the necessary strength to believe in
14:33God and be the witnesses of Jesus Christ in our world of today.
14:39The congregation is exalted to following the guides of the Amataya, upholding the values
14:43of peace and unity in the church.
14:47You correct that Yaachifu was rather in Mendon, in another church.
14:52Let's go over to Bili, where the Kenyan parish of the Iglis Presbyterian Kamones in Yaounde
14:59now counts a new elder and deaconess.
15:02Fabrice Eleso Meva and Lidi Sandrine Eyenga have been consecrated in a momentous service.
15:10The parish pastor, the Rev. Gabriel Edu, while officiating the consecration service, enjoined
15:16the newly dedicated to serve as ambassadors of the church in their various spheres of
15:21life.
15:22St. John Liston Internship, Cynthia Ebot, attended the service.
15:26Here's her report.
15:29Touching words from a proud wife to her disciplined husband, whose regularity and humility in
15:33service have marked the faithful in the Obili Kanan parish of the Iglis Presbyterian Kamones
15:40in Yaounde.
15:4147-year-old Fabrice Eleso Meva and Lidi Sandrine Eyenga are consecrated as church elder and
15:48deaconess, respectively.
15:50I'm very happy today, this Sunday.
15:53I want to consecrate my mission to pray every time to help the church advance.
16:03The new elder and deaconess say yes before their friends, family, Christian faithful
16:09and before God to be flag bearers of the church in their day-to-day lives, not to use these
16:15new responsibilities as a stepping stone to any material possessions.
16:19They pledge to be true sons and daughters of God, mindful that they will be the only
16:24Bibles a non-believer may get to read in his lifetime.
16:29I'm still in church.
16:32Recently state-of-the-art constructed temple of the Iglis Presbyterian Kamones has been
16:38dedicated at the Mefu Akono Road in Ebolova in the south region.
16:46with details of this dedication that mobilized members of the elite and dignitaries from
16:51far and wide.
16:54Mefu Beto, highly symbolic by name, means a lot to Christians of Iglis Presbyterian
17:03Kamones in the south.
17:05This perfectly built new temple is a testament to the people's devotion and enduring love
17:10for their creator.
17:11Like King Solomon, son of David, a son of the soil, Gervais Eric Ndo, offered this architectural
17:18jewel to the Christian community as a thanksgiving to God for his many blessings and protection.
17:23My family and I are very happy today for having offered something to God and we are very pleased
17:33for the presence of all these ministers of Jesus Christ during this important ceremony.
17:42So we thank God for all he did for us.
17:48Through almighty God's guidance, the newly constructed temple, sparkling with beauty,
17:53received special anointing from the Ephesim clergymen.
17:57To Reverend Dr. Jean-Francois Avenu, this will serve as a meditation and praise center
18:02to the master of the universe.
18:04During the dedication of the temple, praise and thanksgiving from grateful hearts ascended
18:09to God as a sweet oblation.
18:13And you're watching Prime Time in English on the Cameroon Radio Television.
18:18Members of the network of young businessmen have expressed their readiness to ally with
18:23the development vision of the head of state, President Paul Bier.
18:27This was echoed during a meeting in Ezekiel presided over by the SDO for the Nyong and
18:32Kele which equally saw the election of the new bureau of the group.
18:37Details in this report by Florence Ngomba.
18:42A train of development projects which are contributing to build the economy in spite
18:47of numerous challenges, it is on this basis that the network of young businessmen and
18:53others is launching their activities, proclaiming their support for the head of state Paul Bier
19:00whom they say has been instrumental in this drive.
19:04They made their vows known at the Women Promotion Center in Ezekiel in the presence of sons
19:09and daughters of the locality as well as municipal officials.
19:14The get-together also gave the opportunity for the members of the bureau to be officially
19:19presented to the public.
19:22We support the head of state because he is a wise man for us who has spearheaded projects
19:27like the bridge over Malumbo river and also the Yaounde Douala highway.
19:35The President of the Republic is doing everything for the peace and stability of our country
19:40so we need to encourage him.
19:45The network equally made clear the ambition to create links between young entrepreneurs
19:50and local authorities.
19:51Chief amongst them traditional rulers who support this trust.
19:56We hope them achieve their objectives in the community and the nation at large.
20:02Thanks Florence and meanwhile Senator Francois Pwene, popularly known as Maminyanga has impacted
20:09entrepreneurial skills to scores of women in the Yaounde 4 municipality.
20:14Key amongst the skills was the transformation of cassava into cassava flour.
20:19The Senator says this is the only way women can become empowered.
20:23Alphonse Abongo-Acho has the details in this report.
20:28A plea for female entrepreneurship.
20:33The Senator swaps her tricolor band for a warm smile and a mission to help the women
20:38of Yaounde 4.
20:40Her objective, teach them how to process cassava flour.
20:44Through this workshop, the Senator provides women with the tools and knowledge to become
20:49key players in the import substitution policy of Cameroon.
20:53All these are implemented for success.
20:56She does not skimp on the means to support these women entrepreneurs.
21:00The Senator also offers donations and vitamins to help these women continue their development
21:06and reach new milestones, a path to a dynamic economic world.
21:11With the Senator, these women are ready to assert themselves and build a more prosperous
21:17economic future.
21:20Casting a vote for the CPDM party in the upcoming elections, supporters of the party in Ngwibasal
21:27and Botmakak have been told is synonymous to having more social amenities distributed
21:33in their localities.
21:34Minister Pauline Erengene, head of the CPDM Central Regional Delegation to the area, has
21:42furthermore called on sympathisers to ensure the registration of their names into the electoral
21:47list.
21:48For more on the outline, here is Beatrice Ngum.
21:54They defied all odds to relay the Central Committee's message to CPDM supporters in
22:01the 18 villages of Ngwibasal and 52 villages of Botmakak.
22:06The walk-in visit to galvanise CPDM supporters to register on the electoral list is in prelude
22:13to the 2025 presidential polls.
22:16Nyoekele has 10 sections.
22:19We had to go to each section to sensitise, to mobilise the CPDM militant, just for them
22:24to make sure that they are doing the right thing.
22:27Minister Pauline Erengene called on CPDM party supporters and sympathisers to shun
22:33internal squabbles and ethnic conflicts and contribute to the development of the Nyoekele
22:38division through the ballot box.
22:41If we wait until the elections next year, we might have surprises because in front of
22:46us there are other parties here around and we know them.
22:49We have to go on with the work we started.
22:53An absolute majority at the last regional and senatorial elections does not mean they
22:58should go to sleep.
23:00The minister insisted the CPDM's target in the Nyoekele should be to win the three parliamentary
23:07seats and ten councils in the division, especially as the CPDM is yet to consolidate its position
23:15in Botmakak.
23:18We come back to Yaounde, where curtains have been drawn on the third edition of the International
23:23Media and Auxiliary Festival, FEMA.
23:26This was at the explanate of the Ministry of Communication following one week of education-driven
23:31activities.
23:32Here is Joyce Abigail Mfoshi with details of the festival run under the theme, The Media
23:38Facing the Challenges of Disinformation and the Proliferation of Hate Speech.
23:44Her reports.
23:45The communication family have come together under the umbrella of FEMA to celebrate those
23:50who stand out on a daily basis.
23:52This year's edition has a particular innovation, the award of numerous prizes to some actors
23:58in the communication chain.
24:01From the best press heads to the best communications manager for the public and private institutions.
24:06I'm very happy to have received this prize.
24:10I'm going to thank God.
24:12This closing ceremony comes after a week of activities.
24:15This is the celebration of our youth and beyond the youth, the celebration of journalism and
24:25communication profession.
24:28I have here to transmit the congratulations of the Minister of Communication.
24:35The FEMA project, an initiative of the New Star Generation, from the promoter Masao Mbondo,
24:41is already in its third edition.
24:44It brings together journalists and communicators to exchange on subjects that can help improve
24:49the practice of the profession and the well-being of professionals in the sector.
24:54The closing ceremony is placed under the patronage of the Minister of Communication, Rene Emmanuel
25:00Sadi.
25:01And still in culture, the people of Evuzok in the Ocean Division have been told to appropriate
25:08the values of peace as they work towards building their development and cultural heritage.
25:13Three leaders of the community took turns in Bipindi during the launch of the fifth
25:18edition of the FestiZok sporting and cultural season.
25:22Bruno Ndonwi in the following report from Evuzok in the South Region.
25:28The launch of the fifth edition of the FestiZok for the Evuzok people in the Ocean Division
25:33would take a pattern of promoting their local culture, strengthen their unity and bond them
25:38to work on local development.
25:41During the launch of the sociocultural festival and sporting season, Patrice Melon, member
25:45of the elite of the community and his wife, awarded outstanding pupils and students with
25:50prizes.
25:51We organized this ceremony of excellency to encourage them and to tell them that we count
25:57on them to replace us when we will be on retirement.
26:02The director-general of the Port Authority of Kribi, native of the village, was equally
26:07crowned Ezuzwa, the global leader of the Evuzok people.
26:11All the people from different communities of my tribe, from Koli, from Fifinda, Sola,
26:19Ebolova, they gathered and they just decided that I should be the leader and I accept this.
26:25I consider that this is only another responsibility I have to take on.
26:30The opening game for FestiZok pitted AS DuSant against Super Diable Rouge.
26:36There is a good rendezvous that makes the people of Evuzok to go together, to think
26:43together and to do together.
26:44The Evuzok people are equally partnering with the International Center for Cultural and
26:49Artistic Heritage, who documented their history to share the knowledge with the community.
26:55On their part, the Etons, Basas, Sawas, Ewundo and Fangbetis living under the umbrella of
27:02the Ngui community have been told to eclipse tribalism despite their differences in tribes.
27:08The call has been made at the launch of a week-long activity of the first edition of
27:14Zula in a ceremony in Odza, Yaounde, led by the president of the Ngui Ekang community,
27:21Erisien Fabrice Mbaa.
27:23Emma Tawe with details in this report.
27:26Constituents of the Ngui Ekang community have taken it upon themselves to educate members
27:33of their community, teaching them moral values considered a mystery of their demigod known
27:40as Ngui.
27:41The goal of this maiden edition of Zula Week is to cultivate healthy relationships.
27:47Our aim is to bring the Ngui Ekang people back to our roots.
27:52The period we have now, we can call it a week of forgiveness and giving.
27:58The community's spokesperson at this first edition presents an in-depth teaching of their
28:04ancestral origin embedded in the seven entities of Ngui.
28:08The spokesman adds that this avenue intends to educate the younger generation to embrace
28:15the realities of their culture.
28:17It is our place to tell the youth that the success of all men comes through the respect
28:22they give to people, not only their parents.
28:27Activities will run from July 15 up to July 22, 2024.
28:33Ngui Ekang natives have been urged to practice kindness during this period and after.
28:40We go to the east region where Soudelko, the sociocultural organization for the promotion
28:46of agricultural livestock, has seen the installation of a new executive in Garu Abulai.
28:52The national coordinator, Yunusa Issa, used the occasion to urge the members to engage
28:58in the promotion of living together and the fight against juvenile delinquency.
29:03This report by Celestine Tsumbele of CRTV East.
29:06In order to preserve their culture and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, the members of the
29:13Sociocultural Association for the Development of Agricultural Livestock, abbreviated Soudelko,
29:19have installed a new executive office in the Garu Abulai subdivision.
29:25We have noticed that education remains the most important thing when we have lost everything
29:28else.
29:29Reason why we claim to sensitize that through the association Soudelko, we give them an
29:34opportunity in which they can better manage things in the presence of local authorities
29:39including the mayor of Garu Abulai, Adamu Abdom.
29:42The newly installed president is more than ever committed to meeting the many challenges
29:47facing his community.
29:48We will enlarge the agro-pastoral activities and also mutual coexistence with agricultural
29:55farmers.
29:57The performance from traditional Fulanese dance groups, notably Yerubi, enlivened the
30:03public that massively turned out at the explanatory of the Garu Abulai Municipal Hall.
30:08It's also worth noting that Soudelko was founded by Cameroonian businessman Adamu Baba Dampolo.
30:16I'll tell you of a secret that is out for three female artists in Cameroon, but just
30:21time for us to cast a beam on the 42nd edition of Summit Magazine, a publication that is
30:27adorned with in-depth analysis and inspiring stories.
30:31From the cover story on Luipol Mutaze, Cameroon's chancellor of Exchequer, to the exclusive
30:37interview with Professor Nkenge George Elambo, the magazine is a treasure of information
30:42and insight.
30:43Beksin Mbu has taken time off to study.
30:48Here is his review.
30:51Summit Magazine's 42nd edition is a compelling read, offering a diverse range of stories
30:56and in-depth analysis.
30:58The cover story on Luipol Mutaze, Cameroon's chancellor of Exchequer, provides a glimpse
31:03into the life of this influential figure.
31:05In an exclusive interview with Summit Magazine, the minister shares his insights on Cameroon's
31:09relations with the Bretton Woods institutions.
