00:28mothers. Family planning, committed family planning prescribed as dependable speed breaks.
00:34Highlights of 2024 World Population Day in this newscast. Where many shepherds meet the
00:41flock. A total of 16 ordained priests and deacons at a pontifical in Yaoundé, said
00:47by His Grace Jean Barga. And the Lekker girls clinch the trophy. The Cup of Cameroon in
00:55women football has been played in Yaoundé. Spectacle and emotions, right ahead.
01:09Hello my name is Mukwele Princewira Aduma. Welcome to The 730. Let's begin this newscast
01:15at the Senate where members of the Bureau of the Senate have held a special meeting
01:20to discuss issues related to the general administration of the Senate. During the Bureau
01:24meeting chaired by Senate President Marcel Ndiye Njifengi, emphasis was laid on issues
01:30deliberated upon in the June ended session. Sidoni Jokmandi reports. Finding ways to prepare
01:40the Senate for a better future is the main goal of the meeting organized by the Bureau
01:46members of the Senate. The meeting chaired by the Senate President Marcel Ndiye Njifengi
01:52few days after the end of the June session was a follow-up of the previous Bureau meeting
01:58conducted some months ago. The spirit and intention of the President wants to set a
02:04model. He wants to break new ground and give the image that the Senate requires. The Senate
02:10has just ended a session. The President wanted to give an impression. He wanted to get it from all
02:17members of the Bureau to let him know the synthesis of what he has done. Priorities of the
02:24meeting also centered on the putting in place of a new road map, an organigram. The Secretary
02:31General of course was put on the grill to make a summary of what he has done and his colleagues
02:38and she gets summarily what she had done in line with the road map that the President set for her.
02:48Status of the personnel of the institution were further examined. The personnel who have been put
02:55in place are their rights given, are the rights of all other workers and even the senators attended
03:03if they have he feels satisfied. Meantime three commissions have been created at the Senate
03:10to present reports, look over behaviors of senators and correct errors that have been made
03:18in the past by the General Secretariat of the institution. On to our in-depth story tonight
03:26it is on the importance of demographic data analysis and census to socio-economic development.
03:34Most decisions and policies by government are tailored according to demographic statistics
03:40and analysis in order to meet the needs of the population. For Cameroon to meet up with its
03:46socio-economic growth by 2045, demographic databases is indispensable for government
03:53to orientate its focus. Joyce Kimbifuwajo reports. Demographic data and analysis are important
04:03because it gives valuable information that can be used to make good decisions in businesses,
04:08government and social services amongst other places. It helps decision makers understand
04:13the characteristics of a population and how to attribute social and economic amenities.
04:18Demographic data helps in decision making for the government. Census helps determine the needs
04:24of the population in terms of collective requirements such as schools, hospitals,
04:30public transport, roads etc. The role of demographic factors in a developing country
04:39like Cameroon include population size, growth, age structure, fertility and mortality rates,
04:45migration patterns and urbanization. These factors can interplay with each other and
04:50impact socio-economic development, social stability and a plethora of other developmental indicators.
04:59These census will make public the reality of the population to assist in planning development,
05:05be it at the national, regional or communal levels or at sectoral fronts. Demographic data is what
05:12will help Cameroon implement well-tailored policies towards its emergence. Demographic
05:22changes can influence the underlying growth rate of the economy, structural productivity growth,
05:27living standards, saving rates, consumption. Demographic data can help provide basis for
05:33understanding communities as they are now, where they have been and where they are heading to,
05:38and facilitate projections for a government. Indeed, demographic data and analysis will help
05:44in an inclusive development for economy like that of Cameroon. And still related to population and
05:51development, family planning more than ever before the speed break to one-ton childbearing. United
05:57Nations statistics presenting worrying numbers in 2024 with 4.7 million babies born to underaged
06:04mothers with 340,000 of them being girls under the age of 15. Issues that have taken center stage
06:12in the commemoration of World Population Day this year. Cynthia Saptara. The demographic landscape
06:20is what experts say influence policy recommendations in nations like Cameroon. While countries with an
06:27aging population may increase investment in human and physical capital, those experiencing early
06:34childbearing may have to capitalize on health, education, infrastructures, and promote family plan.
06:42By making the choice of when to have a child, we contribute directly to the human capital in the
06:46community. The human capital is a potential individual, a sort of long-term investment
06:52by the families which will impact the quality of life. The global statistics for 2018 on the
06:58demographic health survey shows that only 15 to 16 percent of women in Cameroon use the
07:05recommended family planning methods. Experts say a vast majority continue to rely on unorthodox
07:13methods of contraception which affects her quality of life and limits her education and economic
07:19participation. When you talk of socio-economic development, the key is a key factor which is
07:25health. Women who are in the childbearing age group, age bracket, family planning aims at avoiding
07:35too early pregnancies in the very young, too frequent pregnancies in those who are already
07:40making children, pregnancies that come too close or too late. Cameroonian partnership with other
07:48organizations launched projects such as the Expand Family Planning and Sexual Reproductive Health
07:55a five-year project which aims at ameliorating access to these health services for women in the
08:01rural areas, a way of accelerating efforts towards attaining sustainable development goals for 2030.
08:11On to one of our lead stories. The Yaounde Diocese has today welcomed 16 seminarians
08:17who were ordained priests and deacons at the Our Lady of Victory Cathedral
08:22by His Grace Jean Barga, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Yaounde. They've been challenged
08:28to serve in the vineyard of God in spirit and truth while leading Christians to God's kingdom
08:34wherever they are called to serve. Larrice Nane-Porte attended the pontifical hymns and put together the
08:40following report. They have taken the oath of celibacy before God and man to lead Christians
08:49in the vineyards of God. Eight freshly ordained deacons and eight priests. This batch of seminarians
08:57Christine Sinodality are enjoined by His Grace Jean Barga to work in collaboration with the
09:03Christians and the clergy to ensure good governance of the church. It is a great call for participation
09:10co-responsibility because in the future we are now building a church where everybody will
09:17contribute as much as possible. Our Christians are more attracted by the way of life of the pastors
09:24of this century so it's a high call for me to emphasize more on that testimony of acts and deeds.
09:38In the presence of their families and loved ones they affirm their commitment to devote
09:43themselves to the services of the Roman Catholic Church. A call they are ready to face despite the
09:49challenges that come with it. We stay within the presence of the church. Christians of the Cameroon
09:57Baptist Convention in Yaoundé have been encouraged to embrace the Word of God as the only hope for
10:03redemption. The message was delivered today at the end of a three-day Bible conference held under the
10:09theme Missions the Ultimate Mandate to the Church. Chelsea Kwan highlights in the following report.
10:18Missions the Ultimate Mandate of the Church is a theme of this year's biblical conference of the
10:24Cameroon Baptist Convention in Yaoundé. The events which grouped pastors and worshippers from all
10:31parts of Yaoundé future church meetings aimed at enhancing the spiritual life of Christians
10:37especially during challenging times.
10:43Participants uplifted their spirits and deepened their faith through Bible studies, insightful
10:50presentations and a lively music concert and competition. It is only the Word of God that
10:56prepares God's people for rapture so that is why the command that we should remain on the Word.
11:04Doing the Great Commission with passion is very timely especially in our time where the world has
11:11been invaded by so many challenges. As a choir we also plan to engage in missions through visiting
11:17people, to charge them through songs, the importance of missions and also to convert
11:23many unto Christ. The spiritual benefits reaped are such that attendees get ready to embrace
11:30their godly missions. Diplomacy in this newscast the President of the Republic His Excellency Paul
11:38Bia has raised the outgoing Senegalese Ambassador to Cameroon His Excellency Kari Diouf to the rank
11:46of Grand Officer of the National Order of Valor. The distinction was handed to him by External
11:52Relations Minister Mbela Mbela at the state dinner held at the Hilton Hotel here in Yaoundé. Charles

13:05in Cameroon was the Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Cameroon and won by the Terengal Lions of
13:11Senegal. It is in the bright hills of the west between Bangu Bangante and Bafousam that the
13:21victorious journey of the Terengal Lions began. To seal this milestone in the annals of eternal
13:30memories President Paul Bia decorates him with the rank of Grand Officer of the National Order
13:35of Valor the highest civilian distinction in the land of the indomitable lions and before the state
13:42dinner attended by cabinet members the Minister of External Relations had received the Senegalese

14:13here is ICT page presenter Emanuela Iachifu with the innovative power of ICT inventions
14:21and their inventors. While some youths are waiting to be leaders of tomorrow these ones are asserting
14:29themselves as champions of today proposing palpable solutions to harsh socioeconomic realities.
14:35Our main aim is solving the problem of pollution in our society particularly plastic pollution so
14:42with that we came up with an idea in solving this problem not only solving a problem but creating a
14:47product which also solves another problem too so this is a prototype the the jewel 1.0 plastic
14:53recycling machine is used in making pavements actually pavements of sand and plastic this is it.
14:59This is an agricultural farming robot especially in the sewing process agriculture is the backbone
15:05of our countries in its economy me and my team we thought about creating a robot that's going to
15:09help them in order to ease the work especially in the sewing process. Beyond a financial
15:15encouragement of 350,000 CFA francs for the first position organizers say the tech innovation
15:22competition aims at igniting creativity in children. To create the opportunities that we need for the
15:29future we have to begin inspiring the youth early. Having developed such good prototypes these young
15:36inventors are on the lookout for sponsors to key into their visions. The executive national bureau
15:43for the Adamawa natives association residing in the center and south regions have been installed.

18:34their duties. Also they should be exemplary persons to all children. Others see this as
18:41an opportunity to reconnect to their alma mater. It's always a pleasure coming back to
18:47college voc'd with a lot of nostalgia. Here we are one no titles added. Celebrations
18:56ended with the sharing of a common meal and having a fun filled evening.
19:02Let's go to the north region where members of the circle of friends of Cameroon Serac

21:10personal challenges in Faro division.
21:21Same time in English on the Cameroon radio television playing idleness equals huge appetite
21:29the holiday equation parents are seeking to balance as children continue their long stay
21:34at home during the current holiday. Florence Ngomba relates the experience in the following report.
21:41After nine months of study students and peoples are back with their parents for the holiday. During
21:47the three months break they are expected to give a helping hand to their parents. The daily follow
21:54up which is expected of parents to ensure the growth of their kids they say is not an easy task
22:02among the routines parents struggle with is managing healthy diets for their children. This
22:09period they eat healthy diets such as vegetable, fish, groundnut stew, meat and rice. We program
22:16day-to-day meal times for two days because during this period it's not easy. For the month I take
22:22one bag of rice but it has made two weeks and I have bought another one again. For one day if I
22:29have spices in the house I use 3000 CFE franc. Little Makonde Vera and her siblings say they
22:37are excited to assist their mom in the kitchen during this period. Now I am cooking groundnut stew
22:44and cassava. I have helped my mom to grind the spices and help to grind tomatoes and onions.
22:51While other children are keeping themselves busy with house choices others relax with their friends.
23:00Now on to the story from the far north. The dismantling of a female suicide bomber in that
23:05region happened only on social media. Administrative authorities of the region have insinuated.
23:11Governor Mijio Abakari has in a public outing debunked what he termed rumors with a warning to
23:18its perpetrators of actions awaiting them. Here in this excerpt of an interview conducted by
23:23our correspondent in CRTV Far North Amos Enonyaket Agbo.
23:28It is calm and serene. They just said put at the disposal of the
23:37vigilant committee the material to reinforce their capacity
23:44to work alongside our forces of nuance and security. So
23:52such information is just to disturb and to discourage people.
24:00The final issue is a plan of reconstruction. There is no more security. People are involved
24:08in working. Hospital has been reopened. The construction of dam, building and school are
24:16underway. So there is no need to be afraid because the entire Far North region is calm and serene.
24:28The governor of the Far North region Mijio Abakari in that excerpt of an interview.
24:32Let's go to the west region where 30 percent rate of execution of the public investment budget in
24:38the Kumki division in the west has been rated as a mark of improvement. The performance of
24:44the division which puts it on the fourth position in the region was presented during the deliberations
24:49of the second follow-up committee meeting for the execution of the public investment budget
24:55chaired by its president the Honorable Albert Quincy. This report by Isaac Ngonkum from CRTV West.
25:04As of the 30th of June 2024, Kumki division in the west region can boast of a 30 percent
25:11execution rate of its public investment budget for the 2024 fiscal year with the total allocations
25:18of 875 million CFA francs. According to the divisional president of the follow-up committee
25:25Honorable Albert Quincy speaking during the second evaluation meeting in Banjun, Friday, July 12th,
25:32the execution rate is quite satisfactory but there is still room for improvement before the fiscal
25:38year runs out. In the meantime, about 40 public investment budget projects in the division
25:45have been meticulously examined by the follow-up committee. The committee says there is need for all
25:52to ensure proper maturation of projects before implementation. Despite the non-respect of
25:59execution deadlines, slow transmission of contract documents to the follow-up committee
26:05and gross precipitation in the execution phase, Kumki division has made a leap forward in the
26:11region coming from the seventh position last year to occupy the fourth place on the classification
26:18chart. It is hoped the division will achieve more results in the execution of a public
26:24investment budget project before the 2024 fiscal year runs out. Thanks Isaac from the west.
26:33Our book of the week and the title tonight is Marriage Capsule written by Cameroonian-born
26:39pastor Wandia Gracious Ching. The book outlines some challenges often faced in marriages as well
26:47as ways in which a healthy and happy relationship can be built to stand the test of time. Glovis
26:53Bawe says it all in the following report. It took both personal experiences and research for Wandia
27:01Gracious Ching to come up with this practical guide for persons seeking to understand and
27:07embrace the complexities and intricacies of marriage. He compiles all of these in a single
27:12book which he titles Marriage Capsule. Marriage Capsule is a book produced to help couples and
27:19those preparing to get married to get ready and be ready for what marriage is all about.
27:27According to the author, marriage or finding a life partner is not just about the butterflies
27:32in one's belly. I write this book from the first point of view where I want to help those who are
27:38coming not to go through some of the roads that some of us went through, the experiences I've
27:42gotten from my own personal life and my parents. I found out that marriage is really about partnering
27:48with God to help the other person's life become better. In five parts and 37 chapters, the author
27:55proposes strategies for a resilient and thriving relationship. I noticed that many couples when
28:02they sit together they don't really have what to discuss and so a book like this will help them
28:07with topics and points of concern where they can sit and discuss and grace their marriage with the
28:15beauty that they deserve. Marriage Capsule is one out of several self-empowerment books written by
28:22Wanda Gracious who devotes himself to the service of God. He is happily married and proud father
28:29of three. If there is a capsule for health treatment, there could be a capsule for marriages.
