00:00I'm here in Paddington in Sydney's eastern suburbs for the not-for-profit E-Cognito art
00:06show.
00:07There are around 17,000 artworks being sold here.
00:10They're little A5 pieces and they're being sold for just $100.
00:14Now there is a catch.
00:15These artworks are actually being sold anonymously, so you could be getting an artwork from an
00:19emerging artist or you could be getting an Archibald Prize winner.
00:23Now the organisers say that the intention behind this is to make artworks more accessible
00:29for more people and also giving the artists a chance to showcase their work, whether they're
00:34up and coming or have been doing this for quite a while.
00:37Now people have been lining up since 9am yesterday.
00:40We also had around 100 people waiting out for the opening at 8am this morning.
00:46Organisers were also saying that by making the registrations open for everybody, it removes
00:51the barriers for some of these aspiring artists.
00:55Anyone can register to take part, whether you're an amateur, emerging or professional
00:58artist.
00:59We wanted to democratise art a little bit, make it a little bit more accessible.
01:03So by taking the big name away, the big price tag away, it's given people the opportunity
01:07to come in and just pick art that they really love.
01:09Our funds will be going to support artists who have learning disabilities and the sale
01:14will be running until tomorrow with thousands expected to be sold.
