00:00Alex Cora is trying to do his best to whip everyone into a bit of a frenzy or at least
00:09to rally behind him as the guy who is really the only one kind of pushing management right now.
00:16You know, there's no one on the roster. We went through this yesterday, even if Rafi
00:20Devers said it, who bailed out of the all-star game, and I got no issue with that. But even if
00:25Rafi Devers said something, it wouldn't land. The only person right now that is saying anything
00:31connected to the Red Sox that is landing with fans is out of the mouth of Alex Cora.
00:38And if you just go by history, you know, I've been kind of busting balls about the way they
00:43handled the Judon thing last year, and I know we're going to get to that because they're dealing
00:47with it again this year. But if I go by history of kind of what happens in these situations,
00:56the one thing I know is that whenever Xander Bogarts left, fans were restless and pissed,
01:02and it led them to hand out a $330 million contract to Rafi Devers. And if you're Alex Cora,
01:10that's the reference point. The fans got so wound up over one guy leaving,
01:19they gave another guy a contract. And if the people I work for can be moved by the fans,
01:24then by God, I'm Alex Cora. They're going to listen to me. I'm the only one that can move
01:29the needle. Maybe fans will listen and start to scream more that something has to happen.
01:35I have a hard time believing that Breslau is going to allow himself to be manipulated by Cora.
01:43He's a Yale man, isn't he? He's got the number two pencil behind his head, the pocket protector,
01:48the sense of entitlement, all the things that come from going to those schools, right?
01:52That's what you get from going to Yale, Harvard, Princeton. I don't think Breslau is going to allow
02:00himself to be manipulated by Cora. I wish I believed that. I wish I believed that.
02:06Because I don't know to be as, I say this as respectfully as possible.
02:13When it comes to doing the job of the general manager, I don't know if Craig Breslau's got any
02:19balls. Because right now, he's viewed as the guy who took the job, not the guy that people wanted
02:28for the job. And then he came in here and either wasn't completely honest with everybody on the
02:34whole, hey, here's what I have to spend. And remember the, what was the line from,
02:39what was the line from Tom Werner, full throttle? Oh yeah. So yeah. So did he think it was full
02:47throttle or did he know it wasn't full throttle? There is nothing that Craig Breslau has done
02:53or said that makes me think there's any backbone to him whatsoever right now.
03:00Because if the owner wants it, the owner's going to get it. It's that simple.
