00:00What do you make of his injury and everything
00:02that went on over the weekend?
00:04I think that there is some real pain associated
00:08with this recovery.
00:10I think that they expect that, that that's part of it.
00:14And I think the Red Sox did not like the way
00:16that he talked about it, the way that he was kind of tongue
00:18in cheek with two different reporters.
00:20Alex Gore was pretty vocal about it over the weekend.
00:22I mean, we all love Tristan.
00:24His personality is so unique.
00:26And he is a delight to be around a lot of the time.
00:30I think this was one of those moments
00:32where it went a little far.
00:33You know, you combine it with the ESPN interview,
00:35telling the story about his dad dragging him off the field.
00:38And, you know, then he had to clarify that.
00:40Like, everybody wants Tristan to be himself.
00:43And God knows he is.
00:44I mean, the yoga and all that stuff.
00:46And again, he's a great character
00:48and his teammates love him.
00:49But I think the Red Sox would rather
00:52that right now through his recovery,
00:54he just kind of keeps his head down,
00:56doesn't try to make jokes to reporters,
00:59and just focuses on getting back on the field
01:01and helping the Red Sox.
01:02And, you know, he's got doubles in the last couple of games.
01:04So he's trending in the right direction.
01:05I think the pain is real.
01:08I think when he said the thing about feeling stabbed
01:10in the stomach, you know, gunshot wounds
01:12and all this stuff, that really did bother the Red Sox
01:15because they hadn't heard anything like that.
01:17So I think it's just kind of a part of his learning curve
01:20of we want you to have fun and have some personality,
01:23but probably not when we're talking about, you know,
01:26coming back from injury,
01:27we'd like you to just kind of take that
01:28a little bit more seriously.
