00:00Always be proud of the many things we were able to accomplish for New York's storied 28th district.
00:06All the much-needed infrastructure updates we completed, building more affordable housing,
00:11and bringing so many well-paying union jobs to the area. Serving this district
00:17has been the honor of my life, and I did it all for you, the hard-working citizens of this great
00:24city we all call home, Port Charles. Port Charles has everything you could want in a place to live,
00:32a booming economy, culture, and for families, great schools, and a renowned university.
00:37Hazel and I have raised our children here in Omaha. You know, McConkie is a good man,
00:42but he wears too much pomade. I swear the man could stick his finger in a light socket,
00:45his hair wouldn't move. I'm sad to see him go. It's the end of an era. He's been a fixture here
00:51for so long, and everyone speaks so highly of him. That man could insult you to your face and still
00:55make you think you were his best friend. It's gonna be a tough act to follow. I don't know.
01:02Drew is looking pretty sexy in that suit. Don't tell my husband, but I think so too.
01:08And again, people around here wanted sexy politicians, they'd move to Canada.
01:13If Drew is elected, Canadians might start moving here.
01:21And I'm here today to announce my retirement from Congress. It's time for me to enjoy my
01:28golden years with my wife and family, but I will misrepresent you.
01:31All right, well, we can turn that off.
01:33So, this right here is what you use to pick out the horse's hooves.
01:45It kind of looks like what my mom gardens with.
01:48It does, yeah, doesn't it? But you have to be really careful because you don't want to
01:52accidentally hurt the horse. You know a lot about horses. Did your father teach you?
01:59Nope. Your brother?
02:02I don't have one.
02:04Me either. Just sisters. There's so many girls in my house.
02:10Yeah, it sounds like you wish you had a brother.
02:12Not really. I see you a lot and you're just as good.
02:18As I say farewell to you in my role as your representative,
02:22please know that I do it with my deepest gratitude and respect.
02:25Max Scorpio, did you bring work with you to a 4th of July party?
02:30It wasn't me. Portia wanted to see McConkie's announcement.
02:33Really?
02:34Max's right. I brought the laptop because I was hoping to get a glimpse of Curtis in the crowd.
02:39Well, Drew was probably keeping him backstage because their two handsome
02:43faces would pull focus from McConkie.
02:45Oh, excuse me?
02:47Well, if you were there, it would be three handsome faces.
02:51Nice save.
02:52I'm bored. When can we leave?
02:53Well, we just got here.
02:55It's still warm out. Why don't you go for a swim?
02:57No way. No, there are way too many boys at that pool.
03:01Boys you've known your whole life.
03:03Yeah, exactly. So I've spent plenty of time with them already.
03:06The man I've handpicked to run for my seat is beyond reproach.
03:11He is a Navy SEAL, a successful businessman, a loving father.
03:19Why can't I rewind this? I want to see that close-up of Larry McConkie again.
03:24Oh, sometimes with live events, you can't. Or it'll only let you go back a few seconds.
03:29Oh, so we carry around expensive technology,
03:33and all it does is allow people to track us down wherever we are.
03:37I would prefer my old TV and VCR any day.
03:42Preach it.
03:44Port Charles already knows and loves him.
03:47So I know you're going to be happy when I say that I am endorsing Drew Quartermain.
03:52What? Did he say Drew Quartermain?
03:56I am confident he can continue to do great things for you all.
04:00So without further ado, I present to you
04:03the man your votes will make New York 28th's next representative to Congress.
04:08Drew Quartermain.
04:09Thank you very much, Congressman.
04:11Thank you, everybody.
04:22Thank you.
04:23Thank you.
04:34Thank you very much.
04:39I'm fine, Sharon. It sure doesn't look too bad. I think maybe if we move some of this
04:44brick-a-brack, we could hang up some more decorations.
04:46No, you don't. If you want more bunting, hang it outside.
04:50Hey.
04:50You know, we brought sparklers. Who's gonna want some?
04:54Oh, the kids love that. I'll take some.
04:57So, are you excited for Drew's campaign?
05:01Thrilled.
05:03Oh, I'm sure anyone would have reservations about a family member going into politics.
05:08I'm sure you're not looking forward to all the scrutiny coming the Quartermain's way.
05:13Don't worry, Tracy. I'm sure all the skeletons are out of the Quartermain closet by now.
05:17Uh, yeah, one would certainly hope so.
05:20One way or another, Tracy, it'll all be over in a couple of months.
05:22Well, unless he wins, and then we have at least two years of this,
05:26and all eyes will be on the Quartermains.
05:30Is that really such a big deal, Mother? I mean, haven't we been through this before, when
05:34I was mayor?
05:35Yeah, that's right. We have dipped our toe into politics before.
05:39Is that ill-fated adventure supposed to make me feel better?
05:42And by the way, being the mayor of a
05:45mid-sized city is not the same as being a member of Congress.
05:49Well, I guess we'll just have to take it as it comes.
05:52Here, Tracy. Maybe this'll get you in the spirit.
05:58Drew's announcement looked great on camera. How was it in person?
06:01It was fantastic. Drew is a natural. He had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand.
06:05Now, I agree with Willow. Seeing Drew up there, I really like his chances.
06:09Same here.
06:10It looks like you're going to have your work cut out for you at Aurora with Drew campaigning.
06:14Yeah, well, Michael and I will keep the company afloat.
06:17No, not just afloat. Thriving.
06:20Let's not get ahead of ourselves. It's not a foregone conclusion that Drew's going to win.
06:25He's got a hard road ahead of him.
06:27That's true. Chelsea Grimes is a formidable opponent.
06:32She's a shameless self-promoter, but she does have a following.
06:36Grimes is a scaremonger. All she does is exploit people's worst fears.
06:40Drew appeals to people's better nature. He's been through hell more than once,
06:44and he still came out the other side smiling.
06:46I mean, who wouldn't want a man that strong representing them in Congress?
06:49And with Willow. Drew's charming, smart, successful,
06:52and he has a compelling life story to tell on the campaign trail.
06:55My money's on him.
06:56Good. Because anyone who bets against this man is either a fool or a cynic.
07:03Thank you. Thank you. I love you guys. Honestly, I appreciate this so much.
07:07You know I could not have done this without you.
07:10Thanks to those that came out to the announcement.
07:12Thank you for those that helped keep the ball rolling through all of this into this man right here.
07:17Are you kidding me? Representative McConkie, thank you, sir, for your wisdom,
07:21for your friendship, certainly for your endorsement.
07:24And I'm going to be honest with you. I'm going to be honest with you.
07:27I'm going to be honest with you. I'm going to be honest with you.
07:30Certainly for your endorsement. That definitely helped a lot.
07:33I couldn't have done it without him or her.
07:39Who the hell invited her?
07:45Closed captioning provided in part by Popeye's new boneless wings.
07:49Classic honey garlic signature hot and more.
07:52You're going to love Popeye's boneless wings. No bones about it.
07:56There's nothing chill about a hot, sweaty line.
08:00Until, of course.
08:04There is.
08:06Mountain cold refreshment. The chill choice.
08:10Did you know that your nose gets used to the odors in your home?
08:14Yep, you go nose blind. But others smell this, this, and this.
08:20Introducing Febreze plug-in with Fade Defy technology.
08:25It's the only air freshener that eliminates odors and automatically
08:28alternates between two complimentary scents. It even tells you when to refill.
08:34So you don't go nose blind and enjoy freshness for up to 50 days.
08:38Febreze. Breathe happy.
08:42Man, I love a good hotel breakfast.
08:44Same.
08:44So close to the stadium. I managed to get a little...
08:46Serving him up the SCC, but pushing him into politics. They finally do the job.
08:51Mother, mother, this isn't the time. Learn to read a room.
08:54Enough shop talk. Everybody, the grill is open. Who's hungry, huh?
08:59I'll be right back.
09:03I really like him.
09:04Yeah, I'm glad I voted for him.
09:06You know, now that you've got that speechifying thing down, maybe you need a bigger gut,
09:11you know, and buy a pair of American shoes and you'll be a fine representative, I'm sure.
09:17So what'd you think, Sam?
09:19Well, far be it for me to question the congressman's judgment.
09:23Yeah, I think it's time for me to get a drink.
09:29So, how'd it go with Scout?
09:32It went really well. I mean, she's a little vague on what it means to run for congress,
09:37but she's just so excited about the name change,
09:39she can't wait to start telling people she's Scout Quartermaine.
09:42We're actually doing this?
09:44Yeah. No, I mean, I had my lawyers handle her name change as well, so the passports,
09:49school registration, all the legal documents. I mean, it's done.
09:53Sam, you know Kane was just a placeholder. It was a name given to me by the state.
09:58No, I know. Quartermaine is your family name, and I'm glad that you get to claim it,
10:05and I'm glad that Scout gets to have it, too.
10:07It's just gonna take a little getting used to, that's all.
10:12Okay. Hey, man, that was, uh, good job. You got my vote.
10:17All right, thanks, man.
10:18Yeah, I'm really happy the announcement went the way it did, but tonight is your night, so enjoy.
10:24All right. Thanks, guys.
10:25Yeah, see ya.
10:40You okay?
10:42Yeah, yeah, I'm fine.
10:47Sometimes I forget how I'm held with such universal contempt in this town,
10:53and then someone comes along like Tracy to remind me.
10:58You're wrong, you know.
11:00Wrong about what?
11:02About the contempt for you being universal.
11:04I'm glad to hear that.
11:07So, hey, how did it feel participating in the whole political process today?
11:12Surprisingly good.
11:13Yeah?
11:14I've gotten really disillusioned by politics. The mudslinging, the infighting, the way
11:20no one seems to care about the important things.
11:22I think most politicians only pretend to listen to their voters when their jobs are on the line, but
11:28Drew's made me feel hopeful about the possibility of change,
11:32good, important change that could really help people.
11:34Yeah. You might be surprised to hear this, but I think the same thing.
11:41Yeah, I know. It is surprising because we didn't really like each other much.
11:44It was impossible for us to be in the same room without us making little digs at each other,
11:48which would spiral into knock-down, drag-out fights.
11:52I'm aware.
11:52But he's building a bridge between the two of us, and that really changed the way
12:03I think about him and the way I think about myself, actually, because
12:07I realized that I have a habit of clinging on to grudges way too tightly.
12:13I've been guilty of that myself.
12:14So, Ned, does Drew's big announcement have you missing your mayoral days?
12:19No, no, no, not at all. As far as I'm concerned,
12:22the good people of Port Charles made their choice, and Laura is an excellent mayor.
12:26Thank you.
12:27Yeah, I cannot imagine having to deal with some of the baloney that you do.
12:31Some days, I can't believe it either.
12:35Is there room for two more in this conversation?
12:37Hey, Maddie.
12:38Welcome home.
12:40Thank you. It's good to be back.
12:41Oh, it's so good to be back.
12:42Thank you. It's good to be back.
12:43Oh, it's so good to see you.
12:45You too. I understand you're doing a wonderful job as deputy mayor.
12:48Oh, well, you will have to talk to my boss about that.
12:50I couldn't ask for a better second-in-command.
12:53That's fantastic. Ned, Olivia, thanks for having us.
12:55Thank you, Colin. Good to see you.
12:57You know, we all missed you so much.
13:00Ditto. I'm sorry about Spencer.
13:03Thank you. It's all kind of... it's still unreal to me.
13:07I'm sure. When someone so young is taken from us, it's hard to make sense of it.
13:12Yeah, it's been difficult.
13:14But today is a happy occasion, a celebration.
13:18I'm so glad that you made it back in time for the party.
13:22Me too.
13:22It's been too long.
13:24You know, that's what I've been telling him.
13:26Well, it seems like everyone's kept things together pretty well without...
13:29Well, now it hasn't been all sunshine and free parking, man.
13:32I'll take the backstabbing that goes on at ELQ any day over the craziness of local politics.
13:39Thank God I don't have to deal with the Heather Webber business.
13:42What Heather Webber business?
13:47Maybe that's something we save for tomorrow.
13:49Mac is going to find out soon enough anyway.
13:52It's come to light recently that Heather may not be legally responsible for the crime she committed.
14:02In the Weberhood, every delivery is a treat.
14:05One pistachio for you, sir.
14:09One strawberry poof, please.
14:12Enjoy it.
14:13Oh, perfect.
14:15Bye, Weber.
14:16Something minty?
14:17Of course, it's large.
14:26A double?
14:28Think of me like a big brother.
14:31I actually don't know what it's like to have one.
14:34But I'll bet this is close.
14:37Is that okay with you?
14:38Yeah, um, I mean, it's a little scary, to be honest.
14:43I don't really know what it's like to be anyone's brother.
14:46Don't listen to him, James.
14:47This guy's been my brother since we were 12.
14:49I taught him how to pick up girls.
14:51He taught me how to ride horses and make cherry bombs.
14:53Cherry bombs are cool.
14:55You had to bring that up, didn't you?
14:58So it's okay for brothers to have different last names?
15:01Yeah, you know what?
15:02It's kind of better that way.
15:04Why?
15:05Because it means that you're not family by accident.
15:09Yeah, it's like the family you want, you know?
15:12The family you choose.
15:14What do you mean by brother?
15:20You know what?
15:22I think that would be really cool.
15:24Awesome.
15:26We need to do something to make it official, though.
15:29Something only brothers can do.
15:32You're right, Georgie would never do that.
15:36If Heather isn't responsible for killing Britt Westbourne, who is?
15:41It's complicated.
15:42They're saying Heather was sick.
15:44Well, you'd have to be sick to kill all those people.
15:48Hey, babe.
15:50It's the day to celebrate.
15:53Honey, I'm not sure I'm ready for this.
15:56I'm not sure I'm ready for this.
15:58I'm not sure I'm ready for this.
16:01Honey, do not let yourself get dragged into hypotheticals about Heather Weber.
16:09Nat, you know, I could use a hand in the kitchen.
16:11Oh, yeah, of course.
16:15Heather was diagnosed with metalosis, which is a—
16:18it's a kind of a blood poisoning, which was caused by a faulty hip implant.
16:24You're saying a bum hit made Heather a murderer?
16:27It's a condition that causes psychosis.
16:30Which no one knew about at the time that Heather pled guilty.
16:34So maybe her case should be reopened.
16:39Heather was a willing participant when Ryan nearly killed me and went after Felicia.
16:44You were there on Spoon Island.
16:45She knew exactly what she was doing.
16:47But the theory is she wouldn't have made the decisions she made
16:52if that poison were not in her system.
16:55The world is full of toxins we all ingest.
16:58I mean, there's always something new every day that we find out could be bad for us.
17:02But it doesn't turn us into serial killers.
17:05Well, you don't have a medical degree.
17:07Neither do I.
17:09I'm putting all my faith in the experts' opinions, whatever they may be.
17:17Have we met?
17:20I, um, I live in the same house as you.
17:25What's your name?
17:29Drew Quartermain.
17:31I have the court documents because I needed them for the FEC filing
17:34just in case you'd like to take a look.
17:39So tell me, Tracy.
17:42Do you mind sharing a last name with me?
17:45Quartermain would always get my vote.
17:48And just for the record,
17:51my brother Alan would be very, very proud of you.
17:58Mmm.
17:59You couldn't wait, huh?
18:00Yeah, well, the cookies look amazing.
18:02I am so sorry I couldn't help myself.
18:04No, it's totally fine.
18:05The food is here to be enjoyed.
18:06Please, help yourself.
18:07How have we known each other for this long
18:10and I had no idea that you were a talented chef?
18:13I am full of surprises.
18:14Mm-hmm.
18:15I'm glad you are because I'm starving because
18:19there were slim pickings at Drew's announcement.
18:22You know, I'm actually kind of surprised that you went.
18:25I wasn't the only one.
18:27The whole Aurora executive team went to support him.
18:31I get that.
18:32But by the way you've always talked about Drew,
18:35it was kind of obvious that you two didn't get along.
18:38Yeah, I couldn't stand him and I thought the feelings were mutual.
18:41But something changed when he hired me back to Crimson.
18:44I think we both realized that we have more in common than we thought.
18:48And Drew is the reason why my relationship with Willow seems to be healing.
18:53And I'm the one who introduced him to Congressman McConkie.
18:56So I guess you could say that we're
19:00both seeing another side of each other lately.
19:05Kawaii.
19:10You mind if I hide out in here for a little while with you?
19:14No, not at all.
19:18The DQ freezer, home to all the blizzards.
19:21I hope I didn't hurt your feelings earlier when I said
19:23I was nervous about the idea of being your brother.
19:26It's just, I mean, it's a real big responsibility.
19:29I don't want to let you down.
19:31But you're the best.
19:32You could never let me down.
19:35Thanks, James.
19:36That's a really nice thing to say.
19:39You like your hot dog?
19:41Yeah, needs relish.
19:43Perfect.
19:45Hey, Cody.
19:46Oh, hey, Mac.
19:47Good to see you.
19:48Told you James would be in here.
19:50Your grandma's looking for you.
19:51The fireworks are about to start.
19:54Cody, are you coming?
19:56No, I wish I could.
19:58I got to stay here.
19:59Make sure the horses don't get scared from the loud noises.
20:02I could stay here and help.
20:04Oh, well, no.
20:05No way, dude.
20:06Because if you did, then who would record the awesome video
20:09of the fireworks to play and show me later?
20:12That's true.
20:13I'll get it all for you.
20:14I promise, brother.
20:16Thanks, brother.
20:17Come on, let's go.
20:18Be back soon.
20:21You are really good with him.
20:23I just hope he isn't too much.
20:25Too much what?
20:25Fun?
20:26I love having that kid around.
20:27He's the greatest.
20:28Actually reminds me a lot of you.
20:30Wow, well, that's the nicest compliment I've gotten in a while.
20:34You know, you've had an effect on him, too.
20:36He keeps talking about the horses and your stunt double days.
20:40Keeps telling Felicia and I he wants to do the same thing when he grows up.
20:43Oh, wow.
20:44Wow, I didn't realize that was his takeaway.
20:46Sorry, I'll walk it back a little bit.
20:49Don't want to lead the kid wrong.
20:50No, James is way too smart for that.
20:53Nah, living above stables and mucking out stalls and wrangling quarter mains isn't for everyone.
20:59Maybe not, but I mean, I can see the appeal.
21:02Really?
21:04Your life seems pretty good to me.
21:06Don't get me wrong.
21:07I know how lucky I am.
21:09I love my family.
21:10I wouldn't do a thing to change my life with them.
21:12But if I had two lives, one might look a lot like yours.
21:18I'm sorry I brought the party down by talking about Heather.
21:21Clearly, Mac doesn't really share my point of view, does he?
21:27Heather brings out strong feelings for people.
21:30It's a complicated situation, and there's no solution that is going to make everybody happy.
21:37Thank you for saying that.
21:39Okay, everybody, it's almost time for the fireworks.
21:41Yeah, let's all head down to the water grip.
21:43Everyone you see, I don't want anyone to miss out.
21:45You coming down?
21:46Definitely.
21:50I'm going to stay for a minute, but I will be right behind you.
21:57It's fine.
21:59Send me a seat.
22:02You got it.
22:10Obviously, you are angry with me.
22:13Would you like to talk about it?
22:15The only thing I want is your assurance that Heather will stay in Pentonville where she belongs.
22:21Oh, well, look at that.
22:23We're the first ones here.
22:24That means we get to, uh, pick our...
22:29Lucky us.
22:35Those kids were having fun at the pool, huh?
22:37Yeah.
22:37Like they didn't want to get out of the water for more than two minutes, I don't think.
22:41I'm really glad they were having a good time, especially Scout.
22:44And you know what?
22:45Drew was right.
22:47She's really happy with the name change.
22:51You want to talk about it?
22:54Talk about what?
22:55My mother's potato salad.
22:56Yeah.
22:57Or the fact that Drew dropped it on you that he's running for Congress.
23:01You choose.
23:03You know what?
23:03I, um, I'm not going to waste any time yelling at Drew for not telling me about running for
23:08Congress.
23:09You know, apparently he and Jason really know how to compartmentalize.
23:15Yeah, I know that might not be easy for you.
23:19Yeah, whatever.
23:21It's done now.
23:23Well, all I can...
23:25All I can do now is just, uh, be happy for Drew and, and I don't know, maybe even show
23:31up to a rally or two and smile for the cameras.
23:36Yeah?
23:37And what if someone from the Invader calls you for an interview?
23:40I will refuse to talk to them.
23:42I have nothing to say to that sleazy rag after what that reporter DeWitt did to Blaze and
23:49Christina.
23:50But you should probably have a plan of attack as far as the press goes with Drew.
23:53I mean, maybe you do an interview with a friendly reporter or, I mean, saying no comment,
23:58this might make it look like you got something to hide.
24:01You know what?
24:02That is Drew's problem.
24:04Right.
24:05Not mine.
24:06The only thing I'm really worried about is Scout.
24:09Because this new would-be career of Drew's could hurt Scout in all kinds of ways.
24:18Are you sure I'm not interrupting?
24:20No, it's totally fine.
24:22I love this party, but it can get a little overwhelming sometimes, and I just needed
24:25a minute to myself.
24:27Wow.
24:27Overwhelming is right.
24:29I just had an honest-to-God moment with Tracy.
24:32Like, a positive moment.
24:34Kind of threw me for a loop.
24:35Wow.
24:36If you can impress Tracy Quartermain, there is no one you can't impress.
24:40I mean, it bodes well for your campaign.
24:43Either that or it's just like Mercury in Retrograde or something.
24:46No, that's next month.
24:51I am being serious about your abilities.
24:53It's so impressive how quickly you've taken to politics.
24:57I saw it in your speech.
24:59Everybody did.
25:01People can tell that this isn't just a vanity campaign, that you really want to carry on
25:06McConkie's legacy and do great things for the people of our district.
25:09I really do.
25:11Thank you for saying that.
25:12I mean, I've said this to you before, but I was blindsided when McConkie made that offer
25:18to me, you know?
25:19But the more I get into this, the deeper it goes.
25:23The more convinced I am, I have a duty to do it right.
25:28And that right there is why you have to win.
25:31If I do get elected to Congress, you know, some things are going to change, including
25:38things for you and me.
25:42As a matter of fact, Drew and I...
25:44Say no more.
25:45I get it.
25:47You didn't know, did you?
25:48I mean, did Maxi let it slip?
25:50No, she hasn't said a thing.
25:52I did kind of pick up on a vibe between you and Drew earlier, though.
25:56I couldn't put my finger on exactly what it was.
25:58Well, I guess I'm glad that we're not being too obvious because neither one of us are
26:04interested in advertising it.
26:06I think the reaction would be less than ideal.
26:10So it's just a casual thing, then?
26:12I don't even think that it reaches to that point.
26:16No, it just...
26:18It just happened a few times.
26:19A few very good times.
26:23Sounds like you're enjoying yourself.
26:27I mean, it's not going to happen again.
26:29Probably.
26:30Hey, no judgment.
26:31Drew is hot.
26:32That's right.
26:33His body is amazing.
26:34You should see his abs.
26:36You could grate cheese on them.
26:40I am so happy to see you laughing again.
26:43You really deserve it after everything you've been through.
26:46But now that you've had your fun, it's probably time to stop, right?
26:50I mean, this is the kind of thing that can only end in disaster.
26:56Love, boldness, wings, Popeye.
26:58Disaster is a pretty strong word, don't you think?
27:00It's just a little fling, Drew.
27:05I just want to make sure that you know what you're doing.
27:08You were deeply in love with Sonny,
27:10and Drew was just as in love with Carly,
27:12and both your relationships ended abruptly and in ways that were heartbreaking.
27:19But the end of a relationship doesn't mean the end of feelings.
27:25That much love is like a flood.
27:27It's overwhelming, and it takes time to recede.
27:29And until it does, it'll try to find an outlet somewhere else.
27:35I get it.
27:36I get it.
27:39I don't see anything wrong with wanting to have a little company sometimes.
27:43A human touch every now and then.
27:46It is really difficult to be on your own
27:48when you were used to being part of a couple for so long.
27:54You know what that's like, don't you?
27:58I do.
28:01And I might have been too careful with my heart since then.
28:06But maybe that's better than having it be broken again before it's had time to heal.
28:17If I do get elected, I'm gonna have to spend a lot more time in D.C.
28:22right after I lured you away from your job at G.H.
28:25to come work at the New Tomorrow Institute.
28:27I feel like I'm abandoning you.
28:29Really? Because I'm worried that you'll think I'm exploiting you.
28:34What do you mean?
28:35When you're a congressman, I plan on lobbying the heck out of you
28:38to further the Institute's efforts.
28:40I mean, you'll probably hear more from me in D.C. than you do living just up the drive.
28:45Well, I look forward to those phone calls.
28:49And as much as I'll miss you, I don't want you to feel guilty for anything.
28:54I loved working at the hospital, but I'm grateful for the change.
28:57I love the work I'm doing at the Institute.
28:59And I get to spend more time with my kids.
29:02I'm glad.
29:03Yeah, it's so funny.
29:05Wiley and Amelia are too young to understand now,
29:08but Wiley is fascinated by the fact that I smell like perfume now instead of antiseptic.
29:14The other day, he told me I smelled yummy.
29:16High praise.
29:17Yes.
29:18And it's fun to dress up instead of spending all my days in scrubs.
29:24Pretty sure you could have won a beauty contest in those scrubs.
29:27The quarter main stables complete with an apartment upstairs
29:30doesn't exactly qualify as roughing it by any stretch.
29:36Yeah, being out here with all the horses reminds me of growing up in Australia.
29:41Really?
29:43Yeah, something about the outdoorsy aspect of it, I guess, you know.
29:47Reminds me of the walkabouts Robert and I used to take with our parents.
29:50And the one time I flew over the outback in a prop plane,
29:53man, you wouldn't believe how beautiful the landscape is from up there.
29:57Wow, yeah, that all sounds amazing.
30:00It really was.
30:01I didn't realize how much I missed it.
30:04You know, I wouldn't mind spending three months in a tree house or a yurt
30:08or even just camping under the stars for a while.
30:11I got a little taste of it when I was away.
30:13It reminded me how much I liked it.
30:16Is that why you were gone for so long?
30:18You couldn't tear yourself away?
30:20No, no, I just took a little longer to get used to it.
30:24It took longer than I expected.
30:26Came back as soon as I could.
30:28I hated being away from Felicia and all, but I had to go to honor a commitment.
30:36I mean, so long ago, I don't remember making it.
30:39Some things become such a part of your blood, just stop questioning them.
30:46There's a lot that I don't love about Drew running for Congress,
30:50especially the fact that if he does win, he's going to be living in D.C.
30:54Which means he's going to be away from Scout, and Scout will miss her father so much.
31:02Hey, he's got money and access to a jet.
31:05Drew can come and go as he pleases.
31:08It's just so frustrating.
31:11How did I wind up choosing Jason and Drew
31:19to be parents when they don't, like, prioritize their children?
31:24Okay, look, biologically, yeah, Danny and Scout have other dads,
31:28but we're pretty good at this parenting thing.
31:32And I think that little crew that lives with us, they would agree.
31:37I don't know, I think it would be hard to get that whole crew to agree on one thing.
31:42What I'm saying is, who cares what Jason and Drew are doing?
31:49Okay, Scout and Danny got us.
31:51And it's not always going to be easy, but it will.
31:55It will always be good.
32:04I'm really glad we did that.
32:06I think Monica enjoyed catching up with you.
32:09Yes, I enjoyed it too.
32:13How long has Dr. Quartermain been laid up?
32:17She doesn't like to talk about it, but it's...
32:20been a very difficult year for her.
32:23And I understand it has been for you as well.
32:27Well, you and I have known each other long enough,
32:30so I don't have to pretend I have lung cancer.
32:35How advanced?
32:36Stage four.
32:40My father would be very annoyed.
32:41He didn't believe in ill health.
32:42We thought it was a sign of carelessness,
32:45like hitting a pothole that you could have missed.
32:47Yes, well, I share his annoyance.
32:49I mean, I feel like I'm in my prime.
32:51I think I've got a lot to do and more to give.
32:54My father felt the same way.
32:56Well, your father was a fine man.
33:00And a giant pain in the ass.
33:03Yes, well, that's why we loved him.
33:05Listen, if you're up to it,
33:07when all of this electioneering is handled,
33:10I would like to invite you and your wife over to dinner.
33:13Oh, I think that's a lovely idea.
33:14I'll have Hazel reach out to you,
33:16if, of course, I'm not six feet under by then.
33:20Well, if you are,
33:21I think I'll just send a nice spread over to your wake.
33:26My family would appreciate that.
33:29Larry, take care of yourself.
33:32You too, Tracy.
33:46Does Grandpa Mac know where to find us?
33:58Shall we?
33:59After you.
34:05Wow, they really went all out.
34:08Seems like they get bigger every year.
34:11I know, right?
34:14It's amazing how elaborate.
34:16Fireworks have gotten since I was a kid.
34:19I've never seen one look like rain before.
34:24I'm your son.
34:30Trina told me you had some concerns about Heather.
34:34Actually, my concerns, they're with you.
34:38Why go to bat for a convicted murderer
34:40instead of protecting your constituents from her?
34:43Portia, you were part of the team who diagnosed Heather.
34:46I mean, surely you can understand the questions
34:48that that diagnosis would raise.
34:51I treated Heather with the courtesy and professionalism
34:53that my oath requires, despite the fact that at one point,
34:57her entire mission in life was to murder my daughter.
35:02Hey, Nina.
35:03Want to join me to watch some fireworks?
35:05Hey, um, thank you, but I think I'm just gonna head home.
35:09Oh, you can't miss the best part of the night.
35:12I...
35:13Nina?
35:15Uh, Michael?
35:18Thank you for the offer, but I'm gonna take off, okay?
35:20So happy Fourth of July, gentlemen.
35:24Yeah, Nina, um, I don't like to get in you guys' personal lives,
35:29but, you know, as long as Drew is on the campaign trail,
35:32the three of us are gonna have to learn how to work together.
35:35Is that gonna be okay,
35:36or is one of you always going to have to leave the room?
35:44I hope I didn't give you the wrong impression before.
35:51I believe in you so much.
35:55You've always been there for my family, for my kids, for me.
36:01I wouldn't even be alive today
36:03if you hadn't risked your life in Greenland.
36:06You're the reason I get to see my kids grow up.
36:10And everyone should be lucky enough
36:11to have someone like you in their corner.
36:13That's why you need to win this election,
36:15and I will do everything in my power to help you.
36:18But selfishly, I don't want you to move to D.C.
36:24I'd miss you.
36:27I'd miss you too.
36:43I'd miss you.
