00:00UMNO will not work with PAS as long as Abdul Hadi Awang remains the president.

00:07This is what UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told Kuala Kangsar UMNO members today at the

00:12division's annual general meeting.

00:14Zahid said he came to this decision after past experiences working with PAS, claiming

00:19he was a living witness of the Islamic Party's deceitful tendencies.

00:24He said he has had face-to-face discussions with Hadi, who would agree to something at

00:28the meeting but change his mind the very next day.

00:31Describing PAS as a party that exploits Islam, the UMNO president urged delegates not to

00:36trust them.

00:37UMNO and PAS used to be allies under Muafakat Nasional, which was founded in 2019 when Paketan

00:43Harapan was in government.

00:45The alliance fell apart after Barisan Nasional formed the unity government with Paketan Harapan,

00:50Gabungan Parti Sarawak, and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah in November 2022.
