00:00It was cold and snowy on the island of Sodor, but everyone was jolly, the winter holidays were coming.
00:10Thomas loved this time of the year.
00:13The station masters decorated the stations, and children were making snowmen.
00:25But there was one thing Thomas didn't like about winter, there was always lots and lots of snow.
00:32It piled up very quickly and blocked the tracks, so Thomas worked hard all day keeping the lines open.
00:41Thanks to Thomas, everything ran on time.
00:45All the engines were very pleased, they wanted to thank Thomas for all his hard work.
00:54When all the tracks were clear, Thomas was looking forward to seeing his friends, he had missed them.
01:04As he puffed towards the station, he saw Harold the Helicopter talking to Toby.
01:10They were planning a thank you surprise for Thomas.
01:14Hello, he chuffed.
01:17Remember, said Harold, don't tell Thomas about the surprise.
01:22Then Harold buzzed away, and Toby puffed back to his yard.
01:29Thomas felt left out, he liked surprises.
01:37That afternoon, Thomas was puffing along the main line.
01:43He saw Percy waiting in the station.
01:48Percy's trucks were loaded with brightly coloured boxes.
01:52Are they part of the surprise? Thomas asked.
01:57Percy was bursting to tell his friend about it, but he raced away so that he wouldn't spoil the surprise.
02:04Thomas was cross.
02:12Later, Thomas had to stop at a signal.
02:17As he waited, Emily arrived.
02:21Thomas noticed something strange on Emily's truck.
02:25It was long and pointy, but it was covered up.
02:29Is that part of the surprise? he asked.
02:33That, said Emily, is for me to know and you to find out.
02:38And she puffed away.
02:42Bother! wheezed Thomas.
02:45If they won't tell me, Thomas huffed, I'll find out myself.
02:56Thomas secretly followed Emily.
02:59He puffed as quietly as he could.
03:06And he didn't follow too closely.
03:12Suddenly, Emily turned down one of the branch lines.
03:18Thomas raced after her, but just as he got to the branch line, the signal had changed the points.
03:25Thomas had to go straight ahead.
03:28Cinders and ashes! cried Thomas.
03:31How will I ever find out what the surprise is?
03:36That evening, the engines were very excited.
03:40They were all talking about Thomas' surprise.
03:43I can't wait! chuffed Edward.
03:46He'll love it! puffed Percy.
03:49But then, Thomas arrived.
03:56Shhh! said James.
04:03Don't tell Thomas! said Henry.
04:07Thomas felt more left out than ever.
04:10It wasn't fair.
04:12Everyone knew what the surprise was, except Thomas.
04:16Poof!
04:17If they won't tell me, I don't want to know, he huffed.
04:21Thomas steamed crossly away.
04:27He puffed as far as he could.
04:32At last it was time to show Thomas the surprise.
04:36But no one knew where Thomas had gone.
04:39Please find him, Harold! Edward puffed.
04:43I'll do my best! said Harold.
04:46And he took to the air.
04:55Thomas was parked in a siding.
04:58He was cold and sad.
05:00Why was he the only one not to know what the surprise was?
05:04If only they would tell him.
05:07Then, Thomas heard a noise.
05:10It was coming from the sky.
05:13It was Harold the Helicopter.
05:15There you are, old chap! he called.
05:18It's time for you to collect the children and to see the surprise.
05:23The children! puffed Thomas.
05:26Yes, it's a special thank you for keeping the lines clear of snow.
05:31Thomas was delighted.
05:34Finally he was going to find out what the surprise was.
05:37So I wasn't being left out? cried Thomas.
05:41Of course not! said Harold.
05:43The children are waiting for you at Wellsworth Station.
05:47Thomas loved pulling carriages full of children, so he raced away.
05:54Soon he arrived at Wellsworth Station.
06:03Thomas collected the children.
06:15He puffed through the snowy countryside.
06:19The children were very excited.
06:21They all wanted to know what the surprise was.
06:25Thomas turned down the branch line.
06:28Soon they arrived at a country village, and there was Thomas' surprise.
06:33A huge Christmas tree was standing in the village square.
06:38Its lights shone and its baubles twinkled.
06:41And at the bottom of the tree were lots of presents.
06:44There was even some tinsel for Thomas.
06:48It's the best surprise I've ever had! Thomas puffed happily.
