00:27Who will be the favourite for tomorrow's stage?

00:36He's a world champion and he's the one to look at.

00:40I will just give him the maximum tomorrow. Also in terms of GC, it's always a good thing

00:47Normally, Tadej is always doing quite good time trials, so for sure he will be good tomorrow

00:51as well as Remco. I guess Remco will be the big favourite for tomorrow.

01:07It's time for the first time trial of this tour. 25.3km between the vineyards, but who

01:13will be the toast of Givray-Chambartin?

01:18Today is a day when you should just sit down and enjoy the race.

01:26The first rider in the time trial is underway. The record holder of stage wins, Mark Cavendish,

01:32riding for Astana Kazakhstan.

01:37Lenny Martinez set an impressive early time, but the 20-year-old debutant was soon dislodged

01:42by the TT specialists.

01:45Yves Lampard, who won the opening time trial in Copenhagen two years ago to take yellow,

01:49didn't go all in, but the four-time Australian champion Luke Durbridge soon found himself

01:54in the hot seat.

01:57Durbridge is going to go top of the leaderboard by 26 seconds and we say goodbye to Lenny Martinez.

02:08Durbridge wouldn't be on top for long though because Stefan Bissiger was on a flyer.

02:12The German champion Nils Pollitt was also going well and he would be able to provide

02:16precious tips for his team leader Pogacar.

02:20Will be a nice course for today?

02:22I think it suits him really well there. You have to push, you have invested already quite

02:27a lot until the top of the climb and then you can recover a little bit in the fast descent

02:32there and then the last six kilometres are just pushing to the finish line.

02:4323 seconds for a bit of ground. We are practically in the middle of the finish line now.

02:51Stage two winner Kevin Vaucoulin producing another superb performance to ask Bissiger.

02:56The Frenchman held off Stefan Kuhn who was hit by an early mechanical, but the former

03:00hour record holder Victor Campenaerts went quicker by just 7 tenths of a second.

03:06This is the moment where Roglic now needs to shine. He is fifth overall in this race

03:11at 1 minute 14 seconds. Can Roglic produce a sparkling time trial?

03:19Very good. Now try to touch with your visor, try to touch your arms, get in aero position.

03:25Get in aero position, it's all straight. Search for the good tarmac.

03:30And here's the bit of battle we were starting to want. Can Jonas Winnegaard come out on top

03:35of the time today? Remco Evenepoel in the white jersey as the best young rider and he comes

03:43out of the start with the most furious sprint. This rider needs to produce a very good time

03:51trial this afternoon because he's up against it. Remco Evenepoel.

03:59Evenepoel wants to win the start of the yellow jersey. The final rider is underway.

04:13It quickly became clear that the fantastic forward can test the stage win.

04:17Roglic, Winnegaard, Evenepoel and Pogacar separated by 20 seconds before the climb

04:22with the world champion Evenepoel looking supreme.

04:26Remco Evenepoel is going to absolutely smash the time of Winnegaard by 23 seconds,

04:3347.4 kilometers an hour. This is the yellow jersey of Tadej Pogacar.

04:40What's it going to be at this point? He's going to be slightly down on the time.

04:45He's going to have shipped a little bit more time, but he's still in yellow.

04:5010 seconds now the deficit.

04:55Pogacar leans it into that turn, goes to the right-hand side of the road,

05:00on the aero skis as far as he can down this descent.

05:03Roglic has looked good all the way through this time trial.

05:07Roglic, 17 seconds faster.

05:10Oh, a problem and a mechanical for Remco Evenepoel and I think he may well have righted it.

05:16He gets it back on and now he settles himself back in.

05:21Winnegaard with the second time, second time for Winnegaard, 29.29.

05:26Come on, come on!

05:28We're on the top of the Tour, come on!

05:31Top of the leaderboard, smashes Roglic out of sight.

05:36The yellow jersey closing in on the finish line, but it's not going to be enough this afternoon.

05:42Remco Evenepoel wins his first ever stage of the Tour de France,

05:46but Tadej Pogacar has sent out a message.

05:49Pogacar is supreme in the time trial.

05:52He might be second, but he holds on to the yellow jersey.

05:58Television, come on guys. The screen, the television.

06:16So it was a close one, but of course I just wanted to win today and that's accomplished, so I'm very proud.

06:25I enjoyed every metre of this TT and then coming out with a win is simply amazing, so I'm super happy.

06:39Evenepoel completes his first stage of the Tour de France,

06:48and showing he could well be Pogacar's biggest rival for yellow.

06:53It was still an excellent performance from the race leader who remains on top by 33 seconds.

06:58Winnegaard and Roglic are both over a minute back.

07:02Biniam Gamay was able to take it pretty easy today.

07:05The Eritrean remains 38 points clear in the green jersey competition.

07:09And so too was Jonas Abrahamsson who is set to take the polka dot jersey into the second week.

07:16Evenepoel's increased his lead in the youth classification from 25 seconds to a minute 43 over Juan Ayuso.

07:24And we finish by paying tribute to Raphael Gimignani, the French cycling legend who died today at the age of 99.
