00:14I knew I had to be in front and yeah, it proves that it was a good decision.

00:18It was quite stressful in the finish.

00:21It was pretty nervous, pretty hectic, a lot of road furniture.

00:24Found a little bit of a move around that road furniture.

00:28We heard a crash.

00:31Crash in the middle of the peloton and a number of riders have hit the deck.

00:38So I had no clue who went down.

00:40The red boat looks like wreckless again.

00:48In the finish they said Primoz went down and I was just really devastated.

00:54It's really, really sad to see him crash.

00:58It sounds cliche, but as a GC guy, you never have a day off.

01:02Primoz Roglic has abandoned the Tour de France.

01:10When the crash happened, I was so scared, you know, because it's so fast down here and

01:14there are a lot of corners, so I'm just focused to be safe, more safe.

01:19The last 600 meters, suddenly I find Mike.

01:24He did a super good job.

01:25He brings me from 15th position to top three.

01:28So from that one on, I just knew I could deliver because I have, like, perfect wheel without

01:33any wind.

01:34And then, yeah, this kind of small uphill was also suited me really well.

01:38Who's going to take it?

01:40Gamay wins his hat trick of stages in the Tour.

01:50Stage 13 takes us to Pau with another chance for the fast men before we hit the mountains

01:56this weekend.

01:58But with some bumpy terrain and potential crosswinds, a strong breakaway could upset

02:02the sprinters' plans.

02:04And indeed, a group of 22 riders went up the road early with a host of big names.

02:08Van der Poel, Cort, Delee, Mohoric, Kwiatkowski, Costa, Lascano and Hall.

02:14There were seven Tour stage winners with no fewer than 13 victories between them.

02:19But the presence of Adam Yates was a problem for the GC teams.

02:23Bogac's team mate began the day seven minutes down overall and Visma Lisabike, Ineos Grenadiers

02:28and Soudal Quickstep didn't want to give him or the breakaway a big gap.

02:42This could be the end of the Tour de France for Ayuso, unfortunately.

02:50Big acceleration there of Renard, he's like, OK, they need to close it.

02:54So they're going to go kind of all in.

02:57And now they're going all in because Bogac has just jumped across onto the wheel of Visma.

03:03Definite split now, an attack of Visma Lisabike with the entire team on the front.

03:13Alarm bells ringing back in the peloton, but they soon caught up with the yellow jersey

03:18group. The danger for the Ineos Grenadiers is over.

03:25Ineos Grenadiers catch the group of the top three riders, Pogacar,

03:30Avenepoel and Vengergaard.

03:33But there was still the issue of Adam Yates at the front.

03:36Magnus Court decided to kick on from the breakaway, going clear with Kwiatkowski,

03:40Gregoire and Bernard.

03:41And finally, after a chase of almost 100 kilometres, the peloton caught the remaining

03:46escapees.

04:02Look at the way the Tour de France now is forming into echelons on the road to Pau.

04:07There are riders all over the place and little splits happening.

04:10Fifty five seconds is the advantage.

04:17After a bit of crosswind chaos, the four leaders were caught, but the fun wasn't over yet.

04:25On the first categorised climb of the day, Carapaz and Johannesson attacked, the duo

04:30opening up a gap of around 30 seconds as the sprint teams got themselves organised for

04:35the final run-in.

04:43What is it that you love in sprinting?

04:46It's adrenaline, it's close to the edge.

04:48That was the trickiest part in this finish.

04:52Maybe because you have a little bit of a screw loose as well.

04:55He loves me, he chose me, you know.

04:58I grew up just riding a bike.

05:01It's like, you know, watching a Die Hard movie with explosions.

05:06Oh, massive crash, huge crash.

05:08There's a big rush of adrenaline, that's for sure.

05:11De Lee comes down, a number of other riders hit the deck.

05:17You have to use your brain.

05:18And now they make their way round the turn.

05:20You have to be well positioned at the finish line.

05:25Our team delivers me in a good position for the sprints.

05:29It's a long way to go, you have to make that turn in a good position.

05:33You have to follow and trust your teammates.

05:36The last 500 metres is when you're on the right track.

05:40You have to get over it when you see the finish line at 100 metres.

05:44You just have to have the feeling of winning, it's already huge.

05:54And there's a big pull there from the rider, from the Intermarché team.

06:00They've lost Bert, he's on the wheel of Demar, Demar.

06:05Oh, massive crash, huge crash.

06:08De Lee comes down, a number of other riders hit the deck.

06:12And now they make their way round the turn, 598 metres to go.

06:16A huge crash in that sprint.

06:18It's Christophe Laporte, he's got Wout van Aert locked in on the wheel.

06:21Just behind him is Niki Hassan, then it's Pascal Ackermann,

06:24then it's Biniyam Gemay, it's a long straight run here, 300 metres to go.

06:29Big group of riders at the front, but a number of riders have hit the deck.

06:33On the right-hand side, here goes the sprint.

06:35Philipsen is there, it's Philipsen and Wout van Aert, shoulder to shoulder.

06:39Niki Hassan is there, but it's going to be all the way to the finish line this time.

06:43Jasper Philipsen is flat out, Pascal Ackermann is looking to get on terms.

06:47It is going to be Jasper Philipsen!

06:55The feeling was good, much better than I had the previous week.

07:00I could start my sprint with confidence and I'm happy nobody could pass.

07:04It was piloted perfect by Christophe Laporte.

07:09I was a bit in the wind, but I had the launch early and I could pass him.

07:16So I'm really happy with my sprint and with the feeling.

07:28Philipsen taking his second win of this Tour and the eighth in two years.

07:33After a chaotic sprint, van Aert was second for the second day in a row.

07:40There have been some changes in GC, with Roglic and Ayuso both withdrawing,

07:44but Pogacar still leads by over a minute before the Pyrenees.

07:50Gemay was fourth today, so his lead over Philipsen has been cut to 75 points in the green jersey standings.

07:57Pogacar still has the polka dot jersey, with Abrahamsen unable to take any King of the Mountains points today.

08:05And Evenepoel leads the youth classification before we get stuck into the mountains again tomorrow.
