00:00Right then, Aksan, congratulations.
00:03Thank you very much.
00:04How are you feeling?
00:06Incredibly excited, feeling very privileged and honoured to have been elected, yeah, and tired as well.
00:15It's been a long night.
00:16It's been a long day.
00:17Yeah, it's been a long night, and day actually, yeah, no.
00:20Talk to us about what this means to you, following on from somebody who's dedicated so much time to the constituency or front pool.
00:29What's it like taking on that mantle?
00:31Paul has been an incredible MP.
00:35He has let you choose the meeting bill.
00:38He is very well respected in the constituency.
00:42Practically nearly every door that we knock on, everybody knows who Paul is, and he's done casework for people.
00:48So it's a really good thing to follow on from that, because it just means that there's so much positivity about a previous Labour MP.
00:57It just means that, you know, I've got to do better if I can.
01:01If there is such a thing, so I'll do my best.
01:04And obviously we heard you speak a little bit after the win was announced, but talk to us again a little bit more about how you're going to do that,
01:11what you're aiming to do to be able to fill those shoes.
01:13OK, so my intention is to do as much as I can within the constituency and to be as visible as possible.
01:20Do what I usually do, which is go out and talk to people, visit as many groups as possible, see what the issues are for people,
01:27and try and relay those issues onto the national arena.
01:31That's my job as a politician, to make sure that their views and their voices are heard nationally.
01:36Thank you very much.
01:38No problem at all.
