Sheffield City Council could well remain under No Overall Control once all is said and done.

However, this doesn't mean today's results will be a snooze-fest.

The Star's Harry Harrison picks out five wards - including Crookes & Crosspool, Hillsborough and Walkley - for you to watch for some interesting storylines.

00:00 Hello Sheffield. Today is results day after everyone hopefully went and
00:05 casted their vote in 2024 local elections yesterday and this is
00:11 effectively some storylines that we think at the star you should look out
00:15 for as results come in today. Of course Sheffield is in no overall control
00:20 meaning no singular party has a majority in the council. At the moment Labour, the
00:25 Lib Dems and the Greens are in a power-sharing coalition on the council
00:30 and therefore head up most of the committees but I think it is likely and
00:35 fair to say that will probably stay the same. There may be a few seats swapped
00:39 similar to what we saw last year but maybe no massive changes unless there
00:44 are some big surprises. But as I say some storylines and some seats to look out
00:48 for through the day for you. We'll start off with Crooks and Crosspool obviously
00:52 in S10. Last year Crooks and Crosspool voted for Tim Huggen a Lib Dem
00:59 but we'll have to see if they do the same again because the Labour
01:05 incumbent who is running for re-election Ruth Milsom is quite popular locally so
01:10 it'll be interesting to see which way Crooks and Crosspool goes particularly
01:14 ahead of a general election where the Lib Dems think they have a chance in
01:18 Sheffield Hallam, the constituency, to try and de-seat Olivia Blake. So keep an eye
01:24 on Crooks and Crosspool. We'll move up to S6 in Hillsborough afterwards. Last year
01:29 in 2023 it was a green gain from Labour for Toby Mallinson but it'll be
01:35 interesting to see of course if Labour can bounce back. All three war councils
01:39 in Hillsborough are green so it is also very possible and potentially more
01:43 likely to stay that way but of course we have seen in last year that it can
01:49 switch between parties. Moving over to Salvi, Tony Dams is seeking re-election
01:55 but as an independent in 2024 he of course was elected as a Labour
02:00 councillor but was one of the few councillors to leave the Labour Party
02:04 along with former leader Terry Fox last year. He's hoping to be re-elected but of
02:09 course is coming up against candidates from all sorts of parties including
02:13 Labour who will fancy their chances at de-seating him. Moving over to
02:18 Stocksbridge and the Upper Don. The incumbent seat, the seat being elected
02:22 currently held by Conservative councillor, the only Conservative
02:24 councillor on Sheffield City Council, Lewis Chinchin. He is not running again. He's
02:31 not running for re-election. He's not listed on the list of candidates but
02:36 Stocksbridge and Upper Don voted Labour in 2022 and 2023 so could we be about to
02:43 see the Conservatives losing their only seat on Sheffield City Council. And
02:48 finally we'll head over to Walkley of course, the ward of Sheffield Labour
02:54 leader and leader of the council Tom Hunt. Walkley has elected Labour
02:58 councillors in again 2022 and 2023, most recently Laura Maclean last year. The
03:05 incumbent is I believe Bernard Little who is a Green councillor so again
03:12 another good one to have a look at. Could that be another Labour gain off of the
03:17 Sheffield Greens? You'll have to wait and see but results are coming and they will
03:21 be coming throughout the rest of today. We do have a live blog on the Sheffield
03:26 Star website for you to keep track for all the latest updates so find that and
03:30 find all your latest updates on there.
