00:00So let's talk about President Biden and his response.
00:03Friday, he indicated, I'm staying in this race.
00:06He had a few speeches.
00:08Today, the New York Times reported
00:10that he told a close ally he's reportedly weighing
00:12whether he should stay in the race.
00:14The White House pushed back and said that is not the case.
00:17He has a George Stephanopoulos interview this weekend.
00:20Part of it's coming out Friday, the rest on Sunday.
00:23What do you think is going on in his head?
00:25Do you think he's planning to stay in?
00:28He's fighting for his life.
00:29He's fighting for his political life right now.
00:31And I think he's doing what his advisors are telling him
00:34he should be doing in order to assuage voters' concerns
00:39and party members' concerns
00:41and show everyone he can do this.
00:43I think that they're doing it wrong.
00:45I think that going out immediately
00:47and putting him up with only teleprompters
00:50gives people something to say,
00:52oh yeah, he's fine on a teleprompter,
00:53but what about when he's not on a teleprompter?
00:56I think being in these very scripted settings
00:58is problematic and not doing enough
01:00to assuage voters' concerns.
01:02And sitting down with George Stephanopoulos,
01:04who I personally have a tremendous amount of respect for
01:07as a journalist and as a former public servant,
01:10I'm not the right choice.
01:12Because number one, it's a pre-taped interview
01:14which is gonna allow those who want
01:17to spin conspiracy theories
01:19about what was left on the cutting room floor
01:20to spin those conspiracy theories.
01:23And two, he's a former top aide to President Clinton.
01:27And so he's someone that I think the right and the middle
01:29could be convinced is not the most unbiased person
01:34to be doing this particular important interview.
01:38And so I think, just to answer your first question,
01:41Joe Biden is fighting for his political life.
01:43He's got the governors, a meeting with the governors,
01:45Democratic governors today
01:46to try to keep them on the reservation.
01:49He's working the phones with congressional leadership
01:51and he is doing everything he can
01:53to stay exactly where he is.
01:55And the question is, will it be enough?
01:58And do you think it will be enough?
02:01On this trajectory, no, I don't think it will be enough.
02:05If something happens,
02:06if they start doing things a little bit differently,
02:08maybe I'm wrong.
02:10Maybe he can be very convincing publicly.
02:12Maybe he has enough goodwill garnered
02:14where he can get people to hold off.
02:16But I think if you see a couple more polls coming out,
02:19if the New York Times Sienna drops later today,
02:21for example, or tomorrow,
02:23and shows their last poll, Trump was up three.
02:26If it shows that Trump is up five,
02:28Trump is up six, Trump is up seven,
02:31I think you're gonna see the House of Cards come falling down.
02:34This is gonna be a numbers game.
