00:00And I'm not comparing the two instances at all, but the last time we saw this level of chaos in a party,
00:08Republicans infighting about Kevin McCarthy and the House Speaker fight,
00:12this feels like that type of infighting on steroids.
00:16Politico reported the dam is starting to break with Democrats.
00:19There was a Democratic congressman who asked Biden to step aside publicly yesterday.
00:24A few Democrats have said that they think that Trump's going to win ahead of Biden.
00:29One even said, and I'm OK with that. What do you think about the Democratic lawmakers' response so far?
00:36You know, look, ultimately, everyone is about themselves, right? This is politics.
00:42And so there is the top of the ticket damage, which could be that we lose the White House,
00:48which the effects of that are, you know, it's an unmitigated disaster.
00:52It could be more Supreme Court judge picks. It could be general picks.
00:55If you're controlling all three, you know, houses of government, all three branches of government.
00:59Excuse me. Like, what does that mean? Practically speaking, there's the trickle down effect.
01:04If there's someone who's really weak at the top of the ticket and you know that they're going to lose,
01:08then the member of Congress that is on that same ticket has a greater likelihood of going down.
01:13So I think what you're starting to see is some members of Congress voice their opposition to this.
01:19They are putting their finger into the wind and seeing where it blows.
01:23And they're getting out in front and saying, well, I said he needed to go because they're concerned about how it's going to impact them.
01:29And I think that that that's just the reality of how politics work.
01:34You know, reporters call up. They put the camera in your face. What do you think?
01:38How can you possibly stand by this? They start to feel a little bit of pressure.
01:42And then as Ernest Hemingway famously said, you know, how do these things happen gradually and then all at once?
01:48And so like when you see the dam break, it will come fast and furious.
01:53If it breaks, you know, Biden's doing everything he can today to try to stave it off.
01:57But we'll see how quickly this breaks.
